Chapter One hundred and Four

I could not believe my ears, that must have been why Arya was calling. They were in danger and wanted my help but I had completely ignored her.

I quickly dialed Mera's number and she picked up.

"Jade has been shot, inform the others to be on guard," I said

"Oh my God" she cried

"I am heading there in a minute," I said and ended the call. I had no idea where I could find them and so I had to call his line again with the hope that the lady who picked earlier would pick it up again. I tried calling but it was not going through. I tried again, again and again, but there was no response.

Losing Jade will be another hit at me and it was all because of Arya. I tried the line again and this time someone else picked.

"Hello" a man answered

"Hello. I'd like to speak with the owner of the phone"

"Are you related to the victim?" the man asked

"Yes, yes I am...."

"He is currently at the Landmark Hospital in Golem"

"Golem?" Jade really went far and for what reason? Now he was injured"

"Please can I get the address," I asked the man. He was reluctant to give it but then I insisted on it.

"I am his only family," I said

"4 chevron street Golem," he said

"Thank you very much," I said and ended the call.

I drove down to the address I was given without wasting much time. I met with some nurses outside the building and they directed me to the reception. I walked into the hospital and went to the reception.

"I want to see Jade. He was bright in here today."


"Are you related to the patient?" The nurse asked

"Yes... I'm his brother" I said


She gave me a paper to fill up and asked me to wait for the doctor. Then I felt someone tap me on my back. I turned to see who it was

"Jean...." the woman said

"Oh, what happened?" I asked

"Some men came to the house and shot him and then took Arya away"

"Did you see the man? Can you identify them?" I asked but she moved her head and then she said

"No, I didn't" I turned back to the nurse at the reception and asked of Jade.

"He's at the I.C.U," she said

"Can you direct me there?" I said

"No. You would have to speak with the doctor first" she said. I was already getting pissed

"Where is the damn doctor?" I asked and as luck would have it, the doctor was coming to the reception. I rushed over to him immediately and before he could say anything I introduced myself

"Good evening doctor, I am Mar, Jade's brother"

"Oh... let's go to my office," he said

"Speak to me, it doesn't matter where" I shouted and I noticed people staring at me. I was like a madman. I wanted to see Jade, I was worried about Arya's whereabouts but somehow I wanted to blame her for everything. It was her fault I lost Caspian and now Jade was fighting for his life because of her. As I was speaking to the doctor a nurse rushed over to where we stood.

"Doctor, the patient in the intensive care unit is convulsing" she screamed and then he rushed to the intensive care unit and I followed behind him but I was not allowed to enter the room but I watched everything from the glass window, I could see him convulsing and the doctors and nurses were trying so hard to stabilize him.

And then I saw the line, it was straight and I could hear the machine beep even harder. The doctor came out looking defeated. I did not need anyone to tell me what the news was. I had seen that face when my mother died and I could tell it any day and anytime. Jade was gone.

Jade has gone just like mama, Lourdes, and Caspian. And all because of what Arya represents. Moments of Jade and I came flashing through my mind, he was my brother and my best friend even though I never told him that, and now I regret not telling him this.

"We lost him," the director said and I lost my balance.

"Take heart"

"What would Mera do if she finds out about Jade?" I thought.

Logan had taken from me again and it was time I did something to him. He has taken my silence as weakness and I was going to show him what I had in store for him. I stood up and went down to the reception and Jean rushed over to me.

"How is he?"

"He is dead" and I could see the shock on her face. I continued to walk out of the hospital but she stopped me again

"What about Arya?" She asked but I ignored her completely.

"We should think of a way to save her," she said then I stopped and turned to face her. She moved back a little in fear

"Your friend should sort herself, she is the reason I lost Jade. Arya should ask her kind to help her" I said and continued walking

"What are you saying?" Jean asked in confusion and I realized she had no idea of what Arya was and then I paused again.

"I bet she never told you her true identity. How deceitful of her"

"What are you talking about," she asked again

"Arya is a siren"

"What is that?"

"Ask around maybe mother people will give you a better explanation, as for me I do not have such time" I tried to move again but she prevented me from doing so.

"The woman you speak ill of is the one who her thoughts you occupied. She loves you even with your hate for her. I hope you realize the mistake you are making before it is too late" Jean said and walked away.

I walked to the car and drove back to Salamanca. I had a plan to execute and I needed to do it very fast.
