Chapter Eighty Five

Mar's Pov


After we left the hall and drove off, I noticed how quiet Arya was. I knew she had questions to ask and I was not ready to answer questions concerning Logan.

"Are you okay?" I asked her and she nodded her head.

The drive home was awkwardly quiet. And when we got home, she got down before I could open the door for him.

I got down alongside Jade.

"Increase the security around here"

"I did that already"

"That is fine. Be on alert"

I walked into the house and I felt my phone vibrate. I had put it on silent because of the event. We were all asked to put our phones on silent to avoid any disturbance.

I picked it up and I recognized the voice it was the woman from the orphanage. Ma'am Gina. I had completely forgotten about her. I was supposed to call her to thank her. Her plan worked perfectly.

"Hello Mar"

"Good evening Ma'am Gina"

"Can I see you tomorrow?"

"Why?" I asked

"I'd like to share something important with you"

"I think you should come to the city. I'll send my driver to pick you up tomorrow" I said

"That will be good. See you tomorrow"

And then I ended the call. I was wondering what was so important she wanted to share with me.

I went into the room to meet an already sleeping Arya. I didn't want to disturb her. I just went in for a shower and after that, I joined her in bed.


The next day, I got up and got ready for work. Arya was out of bed already. I wonders where she was. I went downstairs to look for her. I was scared she was gone again. I felt relief when I saw her in the kitchen. She was making breakfast.

I stood back and watched her for a while, it was a beautiful sight to watch. I couldn't wait to make her mine forever.

She turned to find me staring at her. And she smiled.

"You're up already?" She asked

"Yes. I was scared when I didn't find you in bed when I woke up"

"I came to make breakfast for us"

And then I moved closer to her and kissed her on the cheeks.

"I want to watch you making breakfast forever," I whispered in her ears and she blushed really hard.

"You sweet talk me all the time"

"I'm serious. Let's get married right away"

"Don't you think it's too soon"

"I don't think so, baby." And then I began kissing her and she was responding to it. We were both getting hot for each other.

Then the ding from the oven distracted us and she pulled away to pull out the pie she had baked.

"Breakfast will be served soon," she said

Jade came in to inform me that ma'am Gina had come but he did that discreetly because I didn't want Arya finding out. Ma'am Gina had wanted it that way and I had no idea why and I wanted to find out.

I had breakfast with Arya and then went up to get ready. After getting dressed, I came down to meet her in the kitchen cleaning up the dishes.

"I have a quick meeting, I'll be back soon. Please take care of yourself"

"I will and you take care too," she said and came over to give me a goodbye kiss.

I spoke with Jade briefly outside. He had dropped ma'am Gina at the office.

"Make sure she is safe and do not let her out unguarded"

"I will do just that." He said and handed the car keys to me.

I drove to the office to meet with her. She was waiting for me patiently at the reception. And when I came we went up to my office.

"Make yourself comfortable, I'll have them get you something to eat," I said to her and she seemed excited.

I ordered some food for her and when it came she ate like she hadn't had a proper meal in a while.

"You wanted to tell me something" I reminded

"Yes... concerning Arya. I know when the woman who brought her stays and I think it's important that you meet her. That will help you understand why I think she is strange."

"Where does this woman stay?" I asked

"Kuja... she stays at Kuja," she said


Kuja was the same place Arya had gone to before she got missing.


"Was she hiding something from me?" I thought.


"I don't think that would be necessary, I doubt Arya knows the woman exists and if she does I'll meet her when she wants me to meet her"

"She knows about her" ma'am Gina insisted

"And how did you know that?"

"The last time she came before she went missing, I overheard her telling mother Pamela about going to find her"

I insisted on it not being important. I thanked her for the information and gave her some money to find her way home.

After ma'am Gina left I was troubled.

"Why would Arya hide that from me? Was there a reason for her to be dishonest with me?"


Too many questions in my head but no answers. I wanted to find out for myself if Ma'am Gina was right. I got into the car and drove to Kuja. It was a long and lonely drive but I eventually got to the house. I had been here before with Jade and so I located it easily.


I walked to the open door and peeped in but there was no one there. I looked around me but didn't see anyone I could ask questions and I entered the house.

I stood in the room for a while but no one came and I turned to leave. Then a voice stopped me.

"I have been awaiting your arrival"

That sounded creepy. I turned around to see who it was and I saw a blind old woman.

"Who are you?"

"Someone you do not wish to know, but has an important message for you"

"I didn't come for you to tell me my future, I just want to know who Arya is"


And she chuckled.


"You will love her more than you will ever hate her or her kind"

"What kind are you talking about"

"A hunter whose destiny is to protect his prey instead of killing it"

I was confused by her words. And I wanted to leave.

"Your mission on earth would be incomplete if you kill her because of her origin"

"What mission are you talking about? I'm not killing anyone. I need you to explain?"

She turned to leave and then paused. I was confused.

"Arya.. is a siren. Her mother was a siren and her father a human. She is special and you are destined to protect her"

"What do you mean?" I asked

"What you heard" she said and then left.

I could not believe my ears. I was hurt and heart broken. That was not true. I couldn't bring myself to believe what I had just heard.
