Chapter Fifteen

I was enthusiastic about the next day, and wouldn't want to meet up with Vale and discuss the new job.

I was the forsake up the next day, I prepared breakfast for everyone and cleaned the house even before they woke up.

Vale had mentioned that we will be meeting up early today and so I wanted to be ready. I didn't want to keep him waiting at all.

I left the house by 9 am and stopped at the cafe to get coffee. Ever since Jean had introduced me to this cafe I had become so addicted to their coffee and I always came back when I felt the need to take it.

The staff in the cafe got to know me as their regular customer and I was treated nicely.


I got two cups of coffee one for me and the other for Vale. I just thought of doing something nice for him today. He had been a good friend since I have known him and getting him a cup of coffee was too little to appreciate him with.


I got to fishies pub before him and so I sat down and wired for him. And in no time he was here.

"I got you coffee," I said handing him over the cup of coffee and he took it.

"I needed one of that. Thank you that was thoughtful of you"

"I got a call from my friend and he asked me to bring you"


"That's great. I'm ready"

Vale looked at me for a minute, and he wasn't saying anything.

"Is there any problem?"

"No.... you look absolutely beautiful".
And that compliment made me blush.


"Thank you Vale"

We didn't spend much time at the pub and then we left. I and Vale boarded a taxi. We spent some minutes on it and then stopped at a very tall beautiful building. There was a name in the building. Latitude group of companies.


We got down and  Vale paid for it. Then he led the way into the building. The inside of the building was even more beautiful. I only saw these kinds of buildings on television.


We stopped at the reception and spoke to the receptionist. From the way vale spoke with her it felt like he knew her very well and she replied in a friendly way.

Vale introduced me to her and she welcomed me. Her name was Rosie. She was a beautiful chubby brunette.

"I'll call the manager to inform him of your arrival," Rosie said to Vale.

Rosie showed us where we could sit and wait, and so I went to my seat leaving her and Vale to catch up. And then I used the opportunity to look at the environment.

This place must have cost a fortune. The pieces of furniture, paintings fixtures, and all others were so beautiful. The flower vase was huge and I was sure it could buy the orphanage and everyone in it.


After waiting for a while, vale came over to me.

"Let's go, the manager is ready to see us"


I stood up and followed behind him. We got into the elevator, I had never used one before but in books, I had read it had been described, I had even seen them on television too when I was watching my favorite soap operas.


I allowed Vale to operate it while I watched him. I was going to use it one day especially if I was going to work here.

It dinged at the 5th floor and the enervating doors opened and we stepped out into the corridor. We walked a little while I'll we got to the door with the manager boldly written on the door.

Vale knocked and then opened the door, then he walked in and gestured fore to follow as well.


When we got in, the man came over to vale and they hugged each other. They must be close pals.

Vale then drew his attention to me.


"This is Arya and Arya this is my child's good friend Gideon"

"She's so beautiful Vale... How are you?" Gideon said as he extended his hands for a handshake


"I am very well.. thank you" I responded and exchanged handshakes with him.


"She's the one you were talking about right?"


"Yeah," Vale responded

"She can start tomorrow, I'll tell Rosie to direct her in all she needs to do"

"That's good... I'm grateful thank you" vale said

"Thank you, Sir," I said to Gideon.


"Your welcome Arya"

"Arya could you wait for me at the reception, i and Gideon have some things to discuss. I'll join you as soon as I am done"

"That is fine"

And I left them, I walked down the corridor till I got to the elevator. I could remember the way Vale had done it earlier and so I did it and pressed the 1 since I was going to the ground floor.

I got to the ground floor and the elevator door opened. I was super excited at how quickly o had learned how to use the elevator.


"Are you done with the manager?" Rosie asked the moment she saw me

"Yes I am and I got the job, he said you'll show me what I need to do"


"Apparently, we were not hiring but vale pleaded and so you will be assisting me here at the reception.

"Are you both dating?"


"Who?"

"Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about"

"I don't understand you"

"Okay, I'll break it down.  Are you and Vale in a relationship?"

"No we are not and why do you ask?"

"Well, it'll only take a man who is in love to do what he did for you. It is quite difficult getting a job here in this city except you have the right kind of connections and I must say you are very lucky to have vale"

I didn't know what to say to Rosie. I was not in a relationship with Vale and I never planned to be in one with him. He liked me as a friend and I liked him. The hat was what I chose to believe and I'd leave it like that.




"I want you to think about the singing and the money you'll make from it"

"Why?"
