Chapter Eighty Seven

I woke up and saw Mar still asleep. I stood up carefully so I would not wake him up from sleep. I thought of making breakfast for him.

I made the pie and put it into the oven and set the timer.
I was trying to arrange the kitchen and put everything I had used in place. I turned to drop something when I noticed Mar by the door of the kitchen.

He looked so handsome even though he had just woken up from sleep.

"You're up already?" I asked

"Yes. I was scared when I didn't find you in bed when I woke up" he said

"I came to make breakfast for us"

And then he moved closer to me and kissed me on the cheeks.

"I want to watch you making breakfast forever," he whispered in my ears and that made me blush. He was so sweet. 

"You sweet talk me all the time," I said

"I'm serious. Let's get married right away"

I was shocked to hear him say that.

"Don't you think it's too soon"

"I don't think so, baby." And then he began kissing me on my neck, and anywhere he could get to.  I liked it and began responding to his kisses. I was getting hot for him.

Then the ding from the oven distracted us, I had completely forgotten I had something in the oven. I pulled away to pull out the pie and I hoped it was not burnt already.

"Breakfast will be served soon," I informed him

Mar went upstairs and took his shower, when he got back he was dressed up already for work.

He had breakfast with me and when Jade came they spoke in hush tones. When he was ready to leave the left kisses on my lips.

Mar promised to come back on time.

I was bored and so I went over to the sitting room to watch television and Jade joined me.

We spent most of the day paving games and chatting aloud. Mera would have been here with us but she was at work. I learned she worked as Mar's pA when they were not hunting for sirens.


I was worried, it was already getting late and Mar was not back yet. I kept asking Jade about Mar but he had no idea what kept Mar.

Jade got a call and it sounded urgent and so he left. An hour after he left the house, he came back carrying Mar.

Mar was a mess. Ever since I knew him I had never seen Mar in this state.


"What happened to him?"

"I don't know... I got a call asking me to come and pick him up from the bar"

I assisted Jade to take him up to the room and then placed him on the bed.

I tried my best to get him out of his dress. And then he threw up a couple of times and I had to clean that up.

I stayed up looking after him till I was sure he had slept off.

I woke up early and noticed he had thrown up again. I decided to clean him and then he woke up when I was doing that.

It felt like he had seen his enemy, he pushed my hands off me.

"Don't touch me, you deceitful bitch"

I was not expecting to hear those words from him, they had hurt a lot.

"When were you going to tell me about it?"


I didn't understand what he was talking about just yet.

"What are you talking about Mar?"

"Don't play dumb with me Arya.. when were you going to stop deceiving me?"

"Deceiving you? How?"
I was beginning to get scared.

"Had he found out?"

"Have you been completely honest with me or you have been hiding something from me"

I was shocked, scared, and confused.

"How could he have found out? Who told you?"

I just had no option but to tell him everything. I was shivering already

"I found out recently and I was scared"

"Scared of what? We humans should be the ones scared of your kind"

"I'm sorry Mar. I didn't know how to tell you" I cried. The tears fell from my eyes.

"That's bullshit, Arya. I loved you and protected you and something as serious as this you couldn't ...."


"That was why I ran away. I left because of how much you hated my kind" I shouted and the tears kept flowing.

"Then why didn't you remain there? Why did you come back?"

"Because you wanted me back... that was why I did and trust me I wanted to see you too. Telling you would have....."


"I wanted you because I didn't know you were a deceitful siren. And you deceived me for a long time. Your kind will act so innocent and then ruin a person eventually. I saw it with Vale and you do this to me?"

He was not lying. I knew it would eventually get to this point but I didn't know it was going to be this soon. I was hoping that the love he had for me would save me, but it was not. And I never thought it would.


"I didn't think telling you would solve anything. You would have still hated me and I didn't want you to hate me. I loved you so much that even staying away from you had hurt so much."

"I'm not listening to your lies anymore. You have tried your best to ruin me but it didn't work."

And then he walked out of the room and then I broke down in tears. Now that he knew about it, I wanted to explain it to him and make him understand that I was not trying to manipulate him. That I loved him wholeheartedly.

I felt nauseous again and this time it came with a force and I rushed to the bathroom and threw up everything I had eaten. It still didn't stop. I continued to throw up and I was beginning to feel dizzy and then everything went blank.
