Chapter One hundred and Eleven

Mar's Pov

I was feeling so defeated and confused. Mera who was there now had a mental breakdown. Leaving just me and Dole. Keith had walked away a long time now and I never trusted him. I had asked Dole to stay around for this period but he was not around and I wondered if he went to.

I got into the house and I just went to the bar to get a drink. I wanted to forget this problem that was hanging above my neck.

Arya was still with Logan and I still had to save her.  I took a couple of drinks.

I walked into the pool area and sat by it as I drank. Then I saw her. The old blind woman.

I looked around to see if she was in the company of another person. But she was by herself.

"How did she get here?" I thought


"Don't bother your thoughts young man" she said


"What are you doing here and how did you get here?"

"Too many questions.. too many questions"

"That still doesn't answer me. How did you get here?"

"That should not be what you want to know. You should be asking about Arya and how to get her out"


"Oh, you know?" I asked in surprise

"I know everything. Even things yet to happen" she said

"So tell me how do I get her out of there?"

"That's for you to figure out"

What rubbish? I felt she had come to give me a lead or something and she was here speaking foolish parables.

"I hear you, young man. Including your thoughts"

"Get to Arya before her people come for her. They are around and you need to be fast"

"Who are her people?"

"Of you delay any further then you will meet them"

This woman was so annoying. At this point, I didn't care if she was reading my thoughts. I had a right to think.

And she began to laugh. I don't think o said anything funny.

"Why are you laughing? Arya is supposed to be important to you as well so help me"

"Yes, she is bit destiny had put you in charge. Think fast and get her"

I was already feeling frustrated again. I placed my hand on my face and took a deep breath.

"How much time do I have?"

And I turned to look at her but she was non longer there. I dropped the bottle in my hand and stood up, I checked around but could not find her.


Did I drink so much? Was I hallucinating?

I quickly left the pool and went up to take a hot shower. And while I did that, I had my mind on what had just happened a few minutes ago.


I finally got out of the shower and cleaned my body with a towel, I had lost an appetite for food.

I laid down and all my thoughts just wandered around to what next I had to do.
I picked up my phone and called Dole. This was a first, but at this point, I realized he's important it was to check on them.

Caspian died without me checking on him, Jade needed my help and I couldn't help and Mera had broken down and I didn't notice. Arya too, she was kidnapped because of my grudge. She had even lost our baby.

It was late and I wanted to be sure he was okay as well. I dialed it the first time but he didn't pick up and I became a bit worried then I tried it again. He picked up this time.

"Good evening boss"

"Where are you?" I asked

"I'm at the hospital"

"Did anything happen?"

"My mom. I got a call from the hospital that my mom had another episode"


"What hospital?" I asked

"Memorial hospital"

I quickly got up from the bed and put on some clothes. Then o drove to the hospital. I called him and he came to meet me.

He was looking really sad and stressed out and I could tell he had been crying.

"How long has this been going?"

"For a year and some months now"

Why did you keep this away?"

"Because I didn't think you will feel concerned and I didn't want it to affect my job"

"You should have said something"

"I was ashamed. The bills are yet to be paid and I do not have a dime"

I patted his back.

"Don't worry I'll handle it" I said
And he knelt down to thank me.

"You shouldn't thank me. It's my job as your boss to make sure you are good. I have lost all my people and I don't want you to be an addition."

"Thank you"

"You are welcome."

Then we went over to pay up his debts and then went to see his mother.

I stayed for a while and I left. I needed to go and put my plans in order. Just like the blind woman had said I needed to think fast. It makes it easier now I know where Arya was.


Dole's Pov

I was surprised that Mar cared this much. I had been seeing him in a different way. I had judged him wrongly and now I felt so guilty.

He followed me up to the room where mY mother was kept.

The doctor had said she was stable now and just needed her rest and so she was sleeping.

Mar had helped me without even asking for anything in return and that was rare.

After he left, I got a call from Logan. I didn't want to pick it. I felt like I was doing something terrible. I switched off my phone and laid my head by my mother's bed and dozed off.

Then I heard footsteps and woke up. The room was dark and I could only see shadows.

"Who are you?" I asked but there was no response.

I asked again but there was no response and I noticed the shadow coming closer.
I moved quietly to the side where the light switch was and put it on.

I almost jumped out of my flesh when I saw Logan. He was standing right beside my mother's bed.

He had an evil grin on his cheek.

"Are you surprised to see me?" he asked with a smile on his face.

"I was... was not ...I was not expecting to see you" I stammered

"That is because you have been avoiding me"

"No. I have not. My mother had an attack and o had to be there with her"

"That is bullshit" he shouted and I was scared he was going to wake her up.

"I pay you to report to me and the reason your mother is alive is because of me."

I wanted to tell him that Mar had done more than he had ever done but I was scared he would do something nasty to my mother and so I began to apologize.

"I'm sorry. I made a big mistake"

"I need information on Mar. what is he up to?" He asked

"I do not know. I haven't seen him in two days" I lied

Logan looked at me like he didn't believe me.

"Why is that?"

"Because of my mother," I said

"Why does my spirit think you are lying?"

"I am not lying. It's the truth"

"If I find out you are lying, I'll not only kill you but your mother too"

"Get me something quick," he said and stomped off from the room.

That was really a close one. I was in deep shit mad I knew it. Mar would hate me if he finds out I'm part of the reason Jade got killed and Arya got kidnapped.

Logan on the other hand will kill my mother and me if he realizes that I was backing out.

Mar has saved my mother and paid all her debts that I thought would take me my whole life to clear. I needed to help him get Arya back while playing along with Logan. That will make him forgive me.

Then mama stared a bit and my full concentration was on her.

"Mama" I called and she turned to look at me then I smiled and she smiled back

"How are you?" I asked her not really expecting a response from her.

And she just nodded. I understood that she must be exhausted and weak and so held her hand and rubbed it and she went back to sleep.

I checked the doctor and he told me she was going to be attended to properly and her dialysis will continue now that the debt has been cleared and an advance paid for.

I was so grateful to Mar and I was going to do all I could to make sure he gets his revenge for Jade and gets Arya back. He loved her so much and it was one thing he was not ashamed of and I admired that a lot.

I quickly left the hospital. We had to plan. Mar and I.
