Chapter Sixty Six

Mole's Pov


One day I was in the pool when Mar and Jade walked in, I didn't want them to know I was there and they spoke but it looked peaceful at first and than later started theoungvpunches. I could not hear what the argument was all about. I quietly snuck out before I was noticed.

I had been trying to figure out what Mar was up to lately, but it has been difficult. It felt like he was keeping to himself of late.

Logan had given me a task to find out what he was hiding.

Mar was a smart man and I wanted to get whatever Logan wanted me to do here over with and leave before Mar discovers me as the mole.


I was always checking up on him and I made sure all the jobs assigned to me were handled perfectly and I was always away.

I was good with the other members of the gang and so there was no suspicion yet. Jade was the only one I didn't have a relationship with. To me, he was just a colleague and nothing more.

I didn't like him much because he felt like the boss trusted him more.

"Fuck him"


I was at the bar when I heard Mar making a call and then I listened to his conversation and he had no idea I was there.

He was supposed to meet up with the person he was speaking with but I couldn't get the location and so I quickly called Logan and informed him about his movements.

I have never wanted to work for Logan but circumstances made it so.
My mother needed a kidney transplant and she had been in a coma for days now. I had no money to fund her hospital bills, not to talk of the money for the surgery.


Logan had offered me a huge sum of money and I had no choice but to agree. I wanted to save my mother. She meant the world to me.


And when I gave Logan the first information about Mar he paid me handsomely and now my mother's surgery was scheduled.

I got a call from Logan asking me to see him.

Meeting up with Logan during the day and in an open place was risky. Anyone could see us and report to Mar.

I wanted my mother to recover and so I had to play my cards right.

"Meet me at the spot same time"

I drove down to the spot and waited for Logan's arrival. When he got there he joined me at the table.


"Do you have any news on Mar?"


"Nothing much, he's got himself a girl"

"What am I supposed to use that information for?" Logan asked looking pissed off already

I had nothing to say. I felt that he would appreciate the information but he didn't seem pleased with it.

"Well... I ..."

Logan didn't let me speak before he interrupted me.

"Get me something new ... a way to shake Mar and bring him to his news, not some foolish news about him getting a girl"


"Mar loves this woman with all his heart and if he proves to be stubborn you can use her to get to him"

"You have a point there"


"Yes I do"


"Not enough. My team tells me there is a rare kind of siren in his possession. Find out where he is hiding it and get back to me."


"Yes sir"

"And make sure you come back with news or I'll have the doctor stop the preparations for your mother's surgery"

"I will do as you have said" and he left, leaving me to figure out how to do this new task.

I knew what Logan was capable of and I decided to get to work.

I went back to Mary's mansion but no one was around. I walked to his home office to find out if there was any lead I could follow.

I was trying to search his desk and everywhere in the office when Mera walked in.

"What are you looking for here?" She asked


"Ummm. . I came to get some documents for the boss"

"Why will he send you to get them when he just sent me here"

"He might have forgotten," I said and walked to the door.

Mera went over to get the documents and then I walked out.


"You should stay around... the boss will be needing you to do some job"

"Noted," I said and went over to the pool.

"Huff... That was close," I said


I pulled out my clothes and dived into the pool. I was around the house in case he needed me and so I could get information for Logan.

After a while in the pool, I came out but there was no sign of anyone, so I decided to try his room but when I got there his door was locked.

The warehouse came to my mind.

"I should go and check in the warehouse. He might be keeping something there" I thought

Then I got into the car and drove to the warehouse. I searched every nook and cranny for the siren but there was nothing there.

I got a call from the hospital telling me my mother was awake. I got in the car and drove to Memorial Hospital.

I was so happy to see her awake. Tears began to flow down my cheeks when I saw her awake.

"Mother" I called and ran to hug her. She was just waking up and so she needed time to adjust but she hugged me back.

"I'm doing everything I can to make sure that you get the best treatment," I said and she just nodded.

The nurse in the room assured me she was going to get better and that her not speaking now was because she had been asleep for days and all she needed was her rest and proper meals.

I wanted her to be back on her feet in no time and for me to achieve that I had to give Logan answers.

I got a text from Mera saying the boss asked for me. I did not want to come out as incompetent and so I rounded up all I needed to do at the hospital and went back to Mar's place.
