Chapter Seventy

Mar's pov

I woke up with a banging headache. I had slept off last night after drinking and my dreams came with wonderful love moments between me and Ayra. I loved the way she smiled at me, it made me so happy.

There was still no lead to her. Logan's words kept ringing in my ears and it made me very angry.


Logan had been right and I hated it whenever he was right. It was an easy task of taking care of the woman I love and protecting her but I had failed woefully at that and I felt like a loser. Now she could be in danger and I could not save her.


I picked up my phone and dialed her number and it went to voicemail.


"You have reached the mailbox of Arya, please leave a message"

That was all I heard when I called her. I called Jade to come to get me from the penthouse back to my mansion. I also received a call from Mr.Erick regarding our dinner.

I had completely forgotten about it. I was going to call him later after this whole saga was over.

Jade came into the company of Mera.

"Good morning Mar" Jade greeted.


"Good morning boss" Mera greeted and I responded


"Good morning to you both ."


"Boss, Mr.Erick Flinn sent a message regarding your dinner. And he wants to host you instead"

"Send him a message apologizing for the delay and inform him that another date will be sent to him."

"Yes sir."

"Please send the message with a gift..and clear the rest of my schedule for now until Arya is found."


"Okay, sir."

"Jade inform the others that we will be having a meeting at the mansion by 7 pm"


"Yes, Mar," Jade said


I went into the room and locked my door. I spent my day locked up in my room thinking of a way to find Arya. I had no idea what to do next.

It was finally 7 pm and Jade called to inform me that everyone was downstairs waiting for me. I went down to meet them and in a long time, this was the first time I had seen the complete gang all together in the same place.


"Good evening everyone, I would not want to waste your time, you all know what issue is on the ground right now. For those who do not know Arya is missing and she needs to be found."

"I think we should go back to where she got missing Kuja."


"Take me there then," I said to him.


I and Jade left for Kuja while the rest continued the search in Salamanca. I had not heard from Caspian in a while and he did not return my calls. I was going to call him as soon as I got back from Kuja.


When we got to the place, I wondered what business Arya had with this place in the first place. Kuja was occupied mostly by the seers and some other fetish people.

Jade and I got out of the car and went to the house to find who it belonged to.

I knocked on the door but there was no response. I looked around and then I saw a woman walking towards us.

I quickly went over to her and asked her if she knew who owned the house but she looked at me strangely and walked away.
I still didn't give up but the funny thing was no one was able to tell me or Jade who stayed at the house.


We waited for a little longer to see if the owner of the house would return but she didn't. After waiting for long, I decided it was time for us to leave.

"We should start heading back to the city"


"But I want you to keep an eye here. Find out who owns the house and let me know all of it."

"I need to find another way to get to Arya"


"Let's go back to the orphanage," I said

"Yes, Mar. I think they would explain all of this better"

"No... I don't think so. What if Arya was trying to leave me? What if she realized I was not good enough and then left me"

"I do not think she would willingly leave you. Arya loved you so much and she was not scared to show it and I'm sure she is safe wherever she is, but I don't know  where?"

"You seem to know a lot about her feelings for me?"

"Not exactly... She was that transparent and if she would leave you for the reasons you mentioned she would have made it clear."


Jade was right, Arya was no coward. She acted naively but she knew exactly what was good for her. I missed her so much, I missed her kisses so much and I wanted to taste her all day long.

We drove down to the orphanage. I had intentions of looking for ma'am Gina. She seemed to know a lot about Arya.

When I got to the orphanage there was no sight of either mother Pamela or ma'am Gina.

Feeling worse I decided to go back to the city and continue the search.

We were on the way back to the City when I got a call from Memorial hospital.

It was from Caspian.

"Hey," he said and he did not sound good at all.

"What happened man?" I asked

"Sorry he can't be speaking now come to the hospital" a female who I suspected to be the nurse said

"What is the name of the hospital?"

"Memorial hospital" and the call ended.


"Drive to Memorial hospital" I shouted

And Jade drove down to the hospital with the speed of light. When we got there, I rushed to the reception and asked where I could find Caspian and I was directed to the room where he was kept. It was still out of bounds, for now, he had slipped back into a coma after speaking with me.

"What happened to him?"

"He was shot in the chest.. the police are searching for the culprit"

"Shot?" I was shocked at that information.


"Caspian was not one to exchange bullets and..... wait"

It only meant one thing Logan had found him out. Caspian was hurt and it was all my fault.

"Why were all these happening now?"
I went over to speak to the doctor and he assured me that he would be alright.
