Chapter Forty Six

Mar's Pov

Arya had been acting really weird for the past couple of days and I was yet to know what the problem was.  I waited for her to come to my room but she didn't.

She resisted me completely when we ran into each other and when I tried to go to her room, her door was always locked.

"What was the situation? We were good and so what changed?"

The whole distance was killing me and she didn't care. I missed her and she was making things really difficult for me.

I would go to her door and knock for hours but no response. Sometimes I'd get really pissed and go back to my room while other times I'll be patient to keep knocking.

I decided to respect her and give her the space she was calling out for and so I did.

While I was leaving the house, I met with Mera on the way. She asked about Arya and I told her she was in her room.

"Is everything alright?"

"I have no idea if there is, she would tell you if something is eating her up"

"I'll just go and find out"

"Please do"

I asked Mera to keep her company because I know she'd be feeling lonely.

I got a call from Caspian saying we should meet up. We had something to talk about. He couldn't do that on the phone because they monitored each of their members even down to the phone call.

After my sister died, Caspian relocated, he was the one that introduced me to the headquarters, and even after I broke out of there he had still been the one giving me intel.

I implored him to quit but he insisted on working there and I respected his decision.

I was to meet him after seeing the dealer who wanted to buy the pearls.

While I was driving, I noticed a car following me, I felt it was mere conjunction and ignored it but then it continued.

Then I decided to create a distraction, so they'll get distracted but then it turned into a chase. I drove fast and hard but I must confess that the person behind the other wheel was an expert.


I got to a point on the road and there were roadblocks everywhere and before I could hit them and drive off, the car behind me swerved to the front sending everything else on the road away.


And then I calmed down, the car was tinted and I could barely see who was seating inside of it.


Then I saw the back door open. It was Logan. Logan was the one in charge of the headquarters, he inherited it after his father passed on.


I came down from my car.

"That was quite a chase," he said with a smirk on his face.

"What do you want?"

"I just want you to come to your senses and do what's right"

"And you think coming back to the headquarters is the best verdict?"


"I'll promote you. you will the head after me. Isn't that what you want?"


"No. I do not need your promotion. I'm not coming back to the headquarters and one more thing... stay away from this district. The sirens around here are mine"


"You are playing with fire," Logan said and I ignored him and got into the car and reversed then drove off.


I quickly went to meet up with the dealer and then had to cancel my meeting with Caspian because of the conflict. Logan will suspect if he hears or sees me with Caspian and I didn't want that.

I got to my house and met Claudia at home.

"What are you still doing here?"

"I came for you. I knew you must be lonely and so I came to keep you company."


"I am not lonely Claudia. I have a girlfriend who lives here and I love her, so stop all these and leave. Bedsides of you are found here, you'll be dead"

"What is it you like in her. I'm I not beautiful enough?"

"You are Claudia but not for me"

She walked over to me and held me by my waist and placed her head on my chest. I tried to push her away but she held tight and that was when Arya walked in on us. Then I had to be more aggressive.


Arya saw us like that and then walked past us. I hadn't completely found out why she was pissed at me earlier and now this.

"You need to leave now before I toss you out myself" I order Claudia.

She understood the tone I used and then obeyed instantly.

I went up to Arya's room but the door was locked. Then I knocked.


"Go away" I heard her say

"I'm not going anywhere baby. We need to talk".

I stood there for a couple of minutes before she opened the door.


"What do you want?"


"Baby you have been avoiding me now for days and you are asking me what I want"

"You were very involved with your visitor"


"Wait... Claudia was the reason you've been acting up?"

"Is she not reason enough?"


She was green-eyed and I felt special somehow. I went over to where she stood and held her firmly even though she insisted on pulling away.

"I'm sorry if you misunderstood anything"


"Misunderstood? ... I didn't get the wrong idea. I saw what I saw"

"I'm sorry still. Claudia doesn't mean anything to me. Only you matter"


"But you held her even when I came and saw you both. And when I left you didn't come to meet me"


"I did but your door was locked. I tried to speak to you but you ignored me"

And then she was quiet for a while then she smiled. I had missed her smiles and the feel of her body against mine.  I didn't know how I was able to cope with these past few days.

"I missed you so much"

And she flushed "I missed you too Mar"
And then she went on her tiptoes and kissed me, I took the opportunity and deepened the kiss.

And the next moment we were in between the sheets making each other scream out in ecstasy.
