Chapter Twenty Nine

Mar's Pov

After Arya left I was convinced that whoever was chasing her was still going to come after her. So I sent Jade to keep an eye on her and ensure she was safe.


Ever since the night o saw her on. In the streets at night, I have felt a strong need to protect her. There was something about her that drew me to her and I didn't know and couldn't explain what it was.

The first time she approached me at the bar, I didn't act the way I was meant to. I wouldn't be surprised if she held my attitude against me.


Seeing her in that position made me so angry.

"What was this man thinking carrying her like that?" I thought


"Let the lady go," I ordered him calmly and gently.
I wasn't expecting him to do as I said quickly.

"This is none of your business, so just.... oh you are the one ... the major reason she's been acting up lately," he said

"I don't care what you think. Just drop the lady and let her go"

"And who are you to give me orders"

"Someone you don't want to mess with" jade replied.

He dropped her down from his shoulders.


"For the last time, this is none of your business, so stay out of it"

"You should not argue, just do as he has told you to"

He laughed at what jade had said and then he went further to punch Jade. Jade returned the punch and the man lost his balance and fell to the ground.

I orders Arya to get into the car and she did that immediately without hesitating. But then she came out of the car again.

"I said you should get in the car" I shouted


"My friend... I can't leave her here, she is in a bad state"


Jade had beaten up the man to the point he couldn't get up. He was just lying weak on the floor.


I instructed Jade to go get her friend and then told her to go back into the car and wait for a car. Jade came out of the apartment with the girl in his arms. He carried her and put her in the car.

"I told you to let the woman go"


"You all will pay for this"


Jade returned to meet me and I told him to take them home while I handled the man. And then he returned to the car and they drove off.


"Why are you chasing the lady?"


"She had what's mine?"

"And what's that?"


"Piss off... it is none of your business"


"Now you listen carefully, I don't want to see you an inch close to Arya. Now get lost"

And the man scurried away in fear.

My ring showed a green color and I followed its trail and it went red. Of late my ring was just giving me wrong trials. Sirens must have gotten protective shields preventing them from being identified quickly, but that won't stop me. I'll get all of them and teach them all a lesson.


Jade came back to pick me up and we arrived at home. I wanted to speak wanted to speak with her, to find out what that man Vale, or whatever his name was wanted from her.


I was on the balcony when I felt a presence behind me. I assumed she was the one but I waited for her to say something but she didn't.

I get it I am actually too hot and I was Ute she was drooling over this hot specimen of a man.


After waiting for a while for her to say something and she didn't I turned around, but she was too lost to say anything. She just stood there staring.


Then I coughed to draw her attention back.


She jolted back to reality and I could see the red color appear on her face. That must have been so embarrassing. I thought.


"When you are done staring you can come over and seat down"

The color came out more.


Arya quietly walked over to the empty seat beside me and sat down. It was not close to me but yet not far away, I could see her perfectly well and I could admire how her without being noticed.


"That man is pretty much obsessed with you why?"

"I have no idea"

"He will do anything to be with you and why are you denying him that?"

She was offended by that question but to didn't care.

I noticed how beautiful she looked in anger.

"I don't want him around me"

"The question is why?"

"He wants to make money off me. I mean from my sweat, he is going to turn me to his slave and he goes ahead to say he loves me"


"What if he does?"

"I do not believe that such a human is capable of love"

"You don't believe me?"

"No, I don't"

"You know what, I don't care if you do but I'll ask you this question and I want you to answer it honestly"

"Go ahead"


"Would you let another man treat your sister that way?"

That question got me so a very and I couldn't control my next action.


"Never in your life ask me such questions. Now get out of my sight"

She looked confused but I didn't want to explain. No one had the right to speak or my sister. No one.


"Leave this minute" I ordered and she left quickly back to my room.


After she left I took some shots of alcohol just to calm my nerves. And then I regretted for reacting that way. I should have been calm and answered her innocent questions and besides, I pushed her to ask that question.


I knew that man was trying to hurt her and I was still asking her all those questions.

I just didn't want to remember what my sister had gone through and now I was not even able to get any of the sirens in town because I knew they were around. I wanted revenge and revenge I must get.
