Chapter Forty Seven

The morning rays flicker directly on my face and I woke up. There was no sign of Mar around and then the door opened and he came in with a tray of food.

"Breakfast in bed," he said

"That was so sweet of you baby"

"I thought of a way to make it up to you"

"But you already did... last night," I said blushing.

He was so gentle while he made love to me. And I was happy to have slept in his arms. I had plans to go to the orphanage. I wanted to see my mother Pamela.

Mar poured some tea into my cup.

"Babe"

"What is it, baby?"

"I want to go to the orphanage today"

"Okay... do you want me to take you there?"


"No. I can go myself"

He hesitated and looked at me. And I had to ask the reason.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"When are you going to tell me about the orphanage"

We have never discussed about it and as much as I wanted to tell him about it and hear his own story, it was not going to be today.

"I will but not today. I have to see mother Pamela today"

We both ate together, he fed me all through. And then I left to see mama at the orphanage.


I met ma'am Gina at the foyer and her gate peeks were still there. Because she never replied to my greetings while I stayed here I didn't bother to do so now.

I walked past her to go and find mother Pamela. I met her in her room.


"I have been waiting for you. I wanted to see you"


"Good to see you, mama"

"Good to see you, my dear Arie. How did your meeting with Isla go"


"Bad.. she kept talking in fables. I got pissed and walked out of here"

"No my child.. you need to be patient if you want to find out about your parents"

"But I was patient... and what if they are not alive? Why should I waste my time looking for people who abandoned me?"

"Don't sound that way, my child... You should not speak like that"

"I'm tired mama... and I just want to forget about ever going back there"


"Don't do that... go back there and listen to her, be patient and you will get the answers you pursue"

Now I listened to Mama and went to Kuja.
I got to Isla's house and luckily for me, she was home.
She had a strong sense of feeling. She noticed my presence without me saying a word.


"I knew you'd be back," she said


"How did you know that?" I asked and she began to chuckle.


"I may not be able to see the physical, but I see everything else. And I knew you wild return"


"Can you now tell me what I need to know? Can you tell me who my parents are? And explain to me why I keep having dreams of the sea with me as a mermaid"

"It is still not the right time. You are not strong enough to fight was will come if you get your answers"

"What do I need to do to be ready? Tell me, please. I keep having strange dreams. I need answers"


"Come back in 10 days and the answers you seek will be given"

I left as she had instructed. I was going to go back in 10 days. At least she didn't speak in mysterious words.


I got a bus and went back to the city. When we got to the bus station, I got down from it and went ahead to take another taxi when I noticed two men walking toward me.

The taxi I was trying to stop drove away. I looked around and I didn't see anyone coming or going around the road. I began to walk fast. I missed my way trying to escape from them, but they kept following me. I finally came to a street I recognized.


It was the way to my apartment. I quickly got to my apartment and I was lucky I had the keys in my bag. I always carried them along all the time. Mama had told me it was good in case there is an emergency.
I quickly hit into the house and began to call Mar. I called him the first time, it rang but he didn't pick up and so I called again and this time he did.


"Mar.. some men were chasing me. I'm at my apartment now and I think they followed me here"

"Calm down baby.. don't go anywhere I'll be there in a flash"


It didn't take long before I heard Mar drive-in. He was quick. He came to the door and knocked.

"Baby it's me. Open the door"

And then I went to open it. The instant I saw him I hugged him tight. I was so scared. The last time I was lucky enough that Mera was around. I was scared that they would have caught me.


"It's okay baby I'm here... I didn't see anyone out there"


"They followed me here"


"Were you able to identify their faces?"

"It was dark and I couldn't see their faces properly"

"Okay, that's fine. Let's go home"


He carried me over to the car and then put me by the other side and then drove home.
I got home and he took me to his room instead. He pulled my dress over my head and also pulled off my pantie. I was standing right in front of me without wearing anything.

And then he carried me to the tub and placed me carefully inside of it. The water was warm and foamy. It helped calm my nerves.

And then he began to wash my body. He was gentle as he massaged my body with the soap and washed me off. He washed me completely and then carried me back to the room. I could see he was aroused and I tried to help him but he stopped me.

"You do not need this now. You need to rest. I'll have Jade track them and find out who they are. I'll make sure you are safe"

I believed every word he spoke and I knew I was in safe hands.
