Chapter 143
Rakari's POV
That automatically calmed me down, so I took many deep breaths and closed my eyes for a while. I opened them again and looked at Renee and Sam apologetically,
"Sorry"
"It's okay, why did you get so angry?"
"Marissa and Kayla"
I could see a hint of anger in their eyes as well
"I see"
Renee and Sam aren't actually werewolves but they know everything about us because I told them, I couldn't not tell them, they're my best friends, always have been. My parents and Marcus was okay with me telling them but the alpha thought differently. Let's just say that he was angry for a very long time until he finally let it go and welcomed them, so now they can visit whenever they want,
"She can never just keep her mouth shut" Renee stated through her teeth,
"Miss Samuels, last warning before I give you a detention"
"Sorry again Sir"
He shook his head slightly before once again turning back to the class and we continued the rest of the lesson in silence
*Lunch*
I walked out of Biology to see Marcus leaning against the wall and I practically ran and jumped into his arms,
"I missed you too Kari" He said with slight amusement in his voice,
"Sorry" I stepped back a little,
"Just a bit excited to see you"
He grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to him,
"How about you show me how excited you really are" He said in a low seductive voice and I smirked,
"With pleasure"
I was about to lean up and kiss him when we got interrupted,
"Not again!"
I smiled and leaned away from Marcus to look at Mhakir,
"Okay fine, we won't do any PDA in front of you, okay?"
"Thank you!"
I took Marcus' hand and Mhakir put his arm around my shoulder,
"So little sis, how was Biology?"
"You're older than me by 2 minutes"
He smirked,
"I'm still older"
"Whatever and if you must know, Biology was okay, nothing I couldn't handle"
"I heard you nearly shifted in English Lit, i didn't realise"
I sighed,
"Sam told you didn't he?" He nodded,
"Marissa and Kayla are two bitches that are out to annoy me and if Renee and Sam weren't there, I probably would have ripped their heads off in wolf form"
I heard Marcus chuckle from beside me so I punched him in the arm, hard,
"You think it's funny?"
He gave me a sheepish smile but didn't say anything so I punched him again,
"Ow! Rakari, what was that for?"
"You think Marissa pissing me off is a joke?"
"I didn't say that"
"You know what Marcus? Go and eat with the jocks and their girlfriends, I'm sure they'll laugh with you"
I grabbed Mhakir's sleeve and dragged him into the canteen to where Renee, Sam, and Mhakir's friend Damon was,
"What's wrong Kari?"
"Marcus"
"What did he do?"
"I told him the incident with Marissa and Kayla and he laughed about it"
She looked at me shocked,
"Why would he laugh about that?"
"I was hoping you would tell me" I looked at Damon,
"Hey Damon"
"Hi Rakari"
Damon is a werewolf and he is part of our pack. He's also Mhakir's best friend and he's like another brother to me. He has brunette hair that goes over his eyes which are brown, pale skin but has a very well toned body,
"He's coming this way"
I didn't turn around but I didn't need to, I could practically smell Marcus' scent behind me,
"Baby, I'm sorry"
I looked at my nails, refusing to look at him,
"Oh really?"
"Yes, can you please just look at me, I hate it when you're angry at me"
I sighed and turned around to face him only to see the hurt in his eyes,
"Continue"
He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck,
"I didn't mean to laugh, it just came out and I didn't mean to upset you. I'm really really sorry, can you please forgive me?"
I continued to look into his eyes and I could see the sincerity in each of his words so I stood up and pressed my lips to his for a short while before I pulled away and looked into his eyes,
"I forgive you"
He smiled and gave me a peck on the lips,
"Thank you"
I took his hand and we both sat down at the table, joining in with our friend's conversation.
*After school*
Marcus opened the passenger door for me and I smiled gratefully before he took my hand and we walked into the pack house,
"Mum, dad!"
"We're in the lounge Rakari!"
Me and Marcus walked into the living room only to see my mum, dad and the alpha,
"Dad, what's going on?" I asked curiously,
"We're leaving"
"Who?"
"Our family, we're leaving the pack"
I looked at him shocked,
"Why? What happened?"
"You don't need to know the reason princess, it's complicated, just know that we're leaving in 2 days so make the most of it while you can"
I looked at the alpha and narrowed my eyes at him,
"This is your fault"
He raised an eyebrow at me, "Excuse me?"
"It's your fault!"
He stood up and looked down at me,
"Watch your tone little girl before I do something I regret" He said in a menacing voice,
Marcus stepped in front of me and challenged his dad,
"Don't you dare threaten her like that"
"Move aside son, she needs to know her place, she has no right to disrespect the alpha"
"And you have no right to talk like that to the future alpha female"
I could see his face falter a bit before he replied,
"She isn't your mate, she can't be alpha female"
I felt tears well up in my eyes before I ran out of the room and up to my own. I lay down on the bed and just cried into the pillow, that statement just made me even more upset because it was so true. The alpha female has to be the mate of the alpha, it's the rules and seeing as I'm not Marcus' mate, I will never be alpha female but that doesn't really matter now because I'm leaving the pack completely and I'll never be able to see him again and that thought just brought more tears to my eyes.
I heard a knock on my door, "Rakari?"
I didn't reply but I heard the door open and I felt the bed dip beside me and I looked up to see Marcus staring down at me,
"He didn't mean what he said"
"It doesn't matter, it's true, we're not mates"
"But we love each other, doesn't that count for anything?"
"Of course it does but... We'll eventually find our mates and we won't be able to be together, not that it matters now because I'm leaving"
"I'll come with you"
I shook my head,
"You're the future alpha, you can't abandon the pack for me"
"But I don't want to let you go either"
I looked down and whispered, "You have to"
I lay back down on the bed and I felt his arms go around my waist,
"Can I hold you tonight?"
I turned myself around and looked into his eyes,
"Please do"
He pulled me closer to him and I lay my head on his chest, wanting to be as close to him as possible but I knew this moment wouldn't last so that's why I needed to make the next two days as memorable as possible.
