Chapter 146
Rakari’s POV
I woke up in such a bad mood. The thought of Darius get’s me so angry but I can’t hate him because he’s my mate, I’m supposed to love him but how can I when he doesn’t love me back? I don’t get him though, one minute he’s saying how he doesn’t want a mate and that I should just leave him alone and the next, he’s kissing me on the bed and saying how I’m his… it’s so frustrating!
I heard a knock on my door, “Rakari”
“Come in Mhakir”
He opened the door and walked into the room,
“What’s wrong?”
I looked at him confused,
“Why do you think something’s wrong?”
“We’re twins, I know what you feel and right now you’re angry”
I sighed,
“Promise not to tell mum or dad?”
He nodded,
“I promise”
“Okay, well uhhh… I found my mate”
His eyes lit up,
“That’s great Rakari!”
“No it isn’t because he rejected me”
His eyes changed to red,
“He what?”
“Don’t make me repeat it”
“Who is he?”
I bit my bottom lip and looked down,
“Darius”
I heard a growl and when I looked up, he was gone… this is bad! I jumped up from the bed and ran out of the room to find him,
“How dare you reject my sister!”
Well, I guess their in Darius’ room then. I ran towards the noise and when I got there, they were just glaring at each other, both of their eyes red,
“You have no right to talk t“
"I don’t care; you have no right to reject your mate, my sister”
“I can do what I like, I don’t want her”
Mhakir snapped. He lunged for Darius and started punching him in the face repeatedly, that was until Darius fought back, he pushed him off of him and I knew it was only a matter of time before he shifted,
“Guys stop!”
They were both shaking with rage, Darius more so than Mhakir so I knew I had to calm him down first. I walked over to him and cupped his face in my hands, making him look at me,
“Calm down”
“He needs to be taught a lesson” He growled,
“He’s my brother, if you hurt him, you hurt me as well, do you want to hurt me?”
That got him to snap out of it because his eyes immediately went back to their normal colour,
“I don’t want to hurt you Rakari”
“Then apologize, for me”
He nodded and I let go of his face so that he could go and apologize to Mhakir. He walked over to him and apologized and then walked back over to me,
“I’m sorry”
“So am I”
He looked at me confused when I said that but he wasn’t fast enough to stop me when I kicked him.
“That’s for pushing my brother” I grabbed a fistful of his hair and made him look at me,
“Never lay a finger on him again, understand me?”
He nodded and I let go of his hair and he groaned. I grabbed Mhakir’s sleeve and dragged him out of the room,
“Wow sis, when did you get so hardcore?”
I laughed,
“I never had a reason to show it”
“But still, you just kicked an alpha, is his manhood”
“Well, technically, I’m alpha female so he can’t do anything to me”
“True”
I continued holding his sleeve until we got downstairs to see my mum and dad and two other people that I didn’t recognize,
“Ah here they are, my son Mhakir and my daughter Rakari”
“Ummm, hi”
They smiled,
“I don’t think we’ve met, I’m Neil and this is my wife Sadie and we’re Darius’ parents”
“Oh, well it’s a pleasure to meet you” I said while shaking both of their hands,
“Likewise, how are you settling in?”
“Fine”
“Has Darius been helping you?”
“Yeah, he’s been great” I said sarcastically but I don’t think anyone picked up on it except Mhakir and Mr Kepler,
“Sadie, would you mind showing Martin and Claire around the house?”
“Not at all”
Mrs Kepler led my parents out of the kitchen and Mr Kepler turned to face me,
“I know that Darius is your mate”
“How?”
“He told me and I’m very sorry for his behaviour”
“Oh don’t worry about that Mr Kepler, she took care of that”
He looked at Mhakir confused, “What do you mean?”
“Let’s just say that she put him in his place”
He looked back at me and raised an eyebrow at me so I decided to explain,
“He hurt my brother so I kicked him in his manhood”
He looked at me shocked, “Really?”
I nodded,
“I don’t appreciate people hurting my family, especially someone who’s supposed to love me”
“I don’t want to love you”
I looked towards the doorway to see Darius staring at us blankly,
“Why not? We’re mates”
“I don’t want a mate; I don’t want to be betrayed twice”
I was about to ask him what he meant but he walked out of the room before I had a chance to and I turned to look at his dad confused,
“What did he mean by that?”
“Go and ask him”
I sighed and walked off into the direction Darius left in. I didn’t have to look for him though because he was sitting in the lounge with his head in his hands, I didn’t want to disturb him so I turned to walk out,
“I know you’re there Rakari, I can smell your scent”
I mentally cursed myself before turning back around and walking over to him,
“I want to talk”
He looked up at me with his piercing blue eyes,
“Why?”
“Because I want to know who hurt you”
“Why do you care? You have a boyfriend”
I flinched slightly at his tone voice,
“He’s not my boyfriend, he’s a boy that I love very much”
“So he’s your boyfriend? You tell me how I should love you because we’re mates yet you go and love someone else?”
“He was there for me, I’ve known him my whole life, he was a mate to me, we both knew that we would find our mates eventually and I found mine”
I reached out to his hand but he moved back and looked away from me and I was about to ask what was wrong with him when a girl walked in and sat on his lap,
“Hi baby”
Baby? I laughed humourlessly, “You hypocrite! You sit here judging me for having a boyfriend and you have a girlfriend? Hilarious!”
I stood up to walk out when I felt a hand go around my wrist and the sparks just confirmed the fact that it was Darius,
“She’s not my girlfriend”
I looked at him blankly,
“I beg to differ”
“She’s just a girl that means nothing to me”
“I am right here you know!”
“Get off me Tina!”
As an alpha, everyone has to follow his orders and that was an order so she immediately got off his lap and walked out of the room but not before saying,
“I’ll see you later tonight baby”
She winked at him and I growled at her which made her run out of the room and I turned to face Darius with anger in my eyes,
“She means nothing to me”
“You said that before and I’m still not believing you”
He pulled me down onto the sofa,
“I don’t want to love you Rakari but I do anyway and I can’t let it happen”
“You’re making no sense! So you’re saying that you love me but you don’t want to?”
He nodded,
“Exactly”
“Well that’s not good enough Darius, I’m sorry but I’ve tried to get through to you but I’m done now”
I got up to walk out,
“Rakari wait”
I flipped him off and walked out of the room to go upstairs to my own, far away from Darius.
