Chapter 58
Luara's POV
Bryan, Greg, and I were in one room awaiting the results that I already knew. Greg had just administered a blood test; he injected the needle into my left arm as that was where he was able to find my most significant vein making it easier and quicker for the needle to go in.
Bryan sat in the chair opposite watching intently at everything the doctor did.
"All done." Greg said as he removed the needle from my arm and cleaned it with an anti-bacterial wipe before placing a bandage over the small wound.
"I just need to analyze the blood and I'll be back, give me 10 minutes." Greg said before hurrying off to another room.
Bryan and I sat in silence while we waited for Greg to get back. We sat in comfortable silence until he got back. It was clear Bryan was nervous and on edge.
Greg finally came back in and looked at both of us before setting his eyes on Bryan and telling him what I already knew.
"The Luna is not pregnant."
A low and small growl emitted from Bryan's mouth. The room stayed quiet for a while, but then he finally got up and moved toward me. He placed a kiss on my forehead, grabbed my hand, and pulled me out of the room.
I knew from that small gesture that he was going to leave it as that. Neither one of us wanted to have this conversation again.
A few hours later, Bryan and I were sitting at the dining table when the sound of desperate knocking was heard.
I looked at Bryan confused while he had a frown on his face, he slowly got up and began walking to the front door. I closed down all of my senses apart from my hearing so I could hear whoever was at the door.
Tiannah's emotional and heartbroken voice sounded through the room making me run to the door to comfort her. "What's the matter?" I questioned while Tiannah sobbed on my shoulder.
She just cried louder and held onto me tighter. I looked towards Bryan and told him I was going to take Tiannah upstairs and not to disturb us. He nodded and walked away, back into the kitchen.
"Come on," I whispered as I began to slowly help Tiannah up the stairs and into mine and Bryan's bedroom.
"What's wrong?"
"Benson, he, he-" She stuttered out unable to finish her sentence due to her hiccupping from all her crying.
"Calm down, breathe for a few moments, and catch your breath." I told Tiannah while rubbing her back slowly.
A few minutes later she had leveled out her breathing and relaxed more.
"I saw him, he, he was kissing another girl." She said hiccupping, tears falling down her face.
I could see the pain she felt on her face, I knew there was nothing I could say to make her feel better, so I just cuddled her until she fell asleep. My heart ached to see my best friend hurting because of her mate. It made me wonder how my mother felt when my father did a similar thing.
After cuddling and humming softly, Tiannah finally fell asleep, I chucked a blanket over her and quietly left the room, slowly shutting the door hoping not to wake her.
I began walking down the hall and down the stairs, searching for Bryan.
I found him in the living room, relaxing on the couch. He must have sensed me as he spoke without turning around.
"How is she?"
"She's okay, she's sleeping at the moment." I said as I sat down next to him. Bryan grabbed my hips and pulled me onto his lap, I placed my head on his shoulder and sighed.
We sat there cuddling on the couch watching television until a loud banging was heard coming from the front door.
Growls emitted from Bryan as he stood up with me still in his arms and gently placed me on the couch before walking to the front door. I quickly followed him intrigued to know what was happening.
With each step Bryan took towards the door I could sense his anger. The banging and shouting continued until Bryan literally flung the door open, causing the door to fall from the hinges.
Bryan's breathing was rapid as his rage took over. He stood still staring at the person who was banging on the door.
Walking into view, standing outside the front door was Benson, Tiannah's mate. Seeing him made my own anger boil because of the hurt he made my best friend feel.
"I need to see her, where is she?" Benson growled as he stared at both Bryan and me.
"You're not seeing her so leave." I growled back, not wanting him to upset my friend anymore.
Benson's eyes were beginning to turn black because I was denying him and his wolf their mate, but I didn't care.
Bryan immediately stood in front of me, protecting me from Benson. His wolf was at the surface and looked ready to attack me. Benson was watching me intently, hatred and rage in his eyes.
Bryan growled loudly, catching the attention of Benson. Bryan was staring at him attentively, his own wolf coming to the surface because of the threat Benson was imposing on me. Bryan's wolf was forcing Benson's to back down. Benson had disrespected his Alpha and his Luna, and he knew immediately after he gained control of his wolf.
"I'm sorry Alpha and my Luna." Benson said apologetically with his head down.
"I just need my mate, to talk to her, to give her an explanation."
Bryan's wolf was still at the surface, but the black in his eyes was slowly disappearing, accepting the apology.
Benson was generally a respectable and very strict wolf and good friends with Bryan.
Footsteps were heard behind us. Tiannah was rushing down the stairs, after hearing and sensing her mate.
"Benson." She hissed angrily. Her father was the Beta of my old pack. Respect has always been drilled into our minds about how important respect is towards your Alpha.
"What are you doing here? I don't want to see you." She said as she stood next to me, in view of Benson. Her voice was slipping and you could hear she was upset.
"Just let me explain, it wasn't even what you thought. Just let me talk to you for 5 minutes."
His voice was pleading and I could tell Tiannah was getting upset as all she could do was shake her head no.
Sensing she was about to cry, I spoke. "Just leave Benson."
"No." He lowly growled his focus all on his mate only to cause Bryan to growl.
"Leave." I repeated, my Alpha voice coming through.
Benson's eyes began turning darker as I was refusing him the option to see his mate.
Bryan had clearly had enough of Benson as he shoved him outside, into the front yard.
"Go inside." Bryan ordered Tiannah and me, but we stayed where we were, needing to know what was about to happen between both wolves.
"Shift." Bryan demanded, Benson immediately complied, his wolf was at the surface and he wanted a fight.
Bryan's clothes ripped to shreds as he shifted into his wolf. His wolf was a bit bigger than Benson and I knew he was going to force Benson to submit.
Bryan immediately lunged towards Benson, grabbing his neck in his teeth. Growling while forcing Benson into a lower position, pushing his authority into Benson's wolf but Benson was able to pull himself from Bryan's jaws.
They began to circle each other, both growling furiously. Benson jumped towards Bryan but he managed to dodge it, only to be caught on his side by Benson's claws. Bryan's growl turned thunderous.
Tiannah clung to my arm, she didn't want to see her mate get hurt but she understood that he had disrespected his Alpha.
Within a blink of an eye, Bryan was on top of Benson, his neck in Bryan's jaws. Bryan was growling furiously at him, forcing Benson's wolf to back down and he did. Benson shifted back to his human form and so did Bryan.
"Go home now Benson, don't force me to drag you there." Bryan growled, staring intently at Benson, his wolf still apparent in his eyes.
Benson began to back away, looking towards Tiannah with a pleading look in his eyes as he made his way into the woods, in the direction of his house.
Tiannah held onto my hand tightly, her wolf wanted to go to her mate but she wouldn't let herself follow after him. She let go and walked back into the house, towards the kitchen.
I stayed at the door, waiting for Bryan as he began walking towards the house. Grabbing a pair of shorts that were hidden by the steps. I analyzed his body as he walked towards me, checking for any injuries. There was a cut to his side, but Bryan didn't seem bothered as he walked towards me, pulling me into him as he got close to me.
He held onto me tight before he grabbed my hand pulling me into the kitchen where Tiannah sat.
Her arms were folded on the table with her head resting on her hands. She was sobbing quietly. As soon as she noticed we were there, she sat up and wiped her face.
"I'm sorry about Benson and I'm sorry for causing all this trouble just please don't punish him." She said looking towards Bryan and me.
"Don't worry about it. I understand why he was like that, I won't punish him. He just needs some time to calm down and then I will allow him back here, as long as you want him to. The room next to ours is free if you want to stay." Bryan said as opened the fridge grabbing a bottle of water.
I smiled at my mate, happy with how he was dealing with the situation.
"Thank you, Alpha." Tiannah said with relief in her voice.
"You don't need to call me Alpha." He said as he threw the bottle in the bin.
"I need to sort some things out in my office." He stated, looking at Tiannah and me before heading towards his office.
We moved into the living room to watch the TV, but we soon decided to go to bed because of the loud drilling since Bryan pulled the front door off, he had to get someone to fit in a new one.
I was lying in bed for about 40 minutes and sleep just wasn't coming to me. My wolf felt restless and wanted her mate next to her, so I went looking for Bryan in his office.
As I was approaching his office, I could hear his voice sounding strained.
It sounded like a private conversation, with me being intrigued, I put my ear to the door.
"I don't care. If you have to drag him from his house and chuck him in the cells. I'm not having Benson think he can come to my home and cause chaos and then think there are no consequences." He spoke with anger laced in his voice.
"He's going to learn his lesson." He growled murderously.
