Chapter 49
Luara's POV
Knocking on the front door, I waited as I heard someone rustling around before Tiannah opened the door smiling widely at me.
Grinning, I jump on my best friend causing us both to crash to the floor groaning. I hadn't spoken to her properly in ages and we definitely needed to gossip and bitch about our newfound mates.
She rolls her eyes at me but smiles and doesn't move to sit up, deciding to stay lying on the floor. I look at her neck to see no mark; I raise my eyebrow at her questionably. Tiannah frowned at me not understanding why I was looking at her.
"Where's your mark? Did he not want to...?" I trailed on. A blush appears on Tiannah's cheeks as she raised her hand to touch her neck producing a small laugh from me.
"No, he did. I just wasn't ready; I want to get to know him before we become a mated couple. I know that within a week of his mark, I would go into heat.
My mind replayed her words, I didn't feel ready but that was something I didn't get the choice in. Seeing as Bryan marked me without permission, I hoped that I would be able to get through this heat without giving in to Bryan, but that idea was diminishing rapidly.
"And he was cool with that? He didn't mind not marking you, I mean he is a male wolf and they're always possessive of their mate." I was shocked that a wolf like Benson would be able to control his temper.
Usually, male wolves immediately battle to mark their mate in order to display and change the scent of their mate to mix with theirs to show others that they were taken.
Tiannah gave me a grim look.
"His wolf was furious and we had a massive argument over it with him using the whole 'danger' excuse. He continued to tell me that he needed to mark me to settle his wolf. So that he would be able to contact or feel my emotions through the bond, apparently he wanted to mark me to ensure that no harm comes to me and it would inform him if I were in trouble, I of course disputed that. Telling him that I wanted to get to know him before mating and having children which caused an even bigger fight as his wolf took it as he thought I didn't want to be the mother to his children which is ludicrous. But thankfully I managed to calm him down after we made a compromise."
I wanted to roll my eyes when she mentioned Benson's wolf getting angry when she mentioned that she didn't want to be mated yet. Every male wolf instantly becomes defensive and paranoid when their mate doesn't want to have children straight away.
I was also shocked that she was able to negotiate a compromise with him.
"How were you even able to do that? A compromise is laughable and preposterous to Bryan."
Tiannah let out a slight laugh.
"Your mate is an Alpha, their instincts and impulsions are more prominent than a normal wolf." Before she continued to answer my question, she pulled herself up from the floor pulling me up with her, directing me into the living room gesturing for me to sit on the couch.
"Anyway, we argued for ages about why and why not we should mark each other. I told him to give our relationship at least two months until we mate which he was completely shocked and outraged about. So, he said he would give me a week, so I said 1 month, and so on. Until we finally came to 1 month." She said smirking.
"That's a considerably long time for two wolves to go without marking and mating with each other. I totally bet that you both won't last that long." I said with a laugh.
"I wouldn't be surprised either," She added, giggling.
"I'm already struggling especially when I accidentally walked into the bathroom when he was about to get into the shower." She mentioned, a small blush appearing on her cheeks making me laugh harder.
"His wolf rose to the surface and actually demanded that he mark me. All I could do was run and unintentionally slammed the door in his face which didn't end too well. He chased after me and continued demanding but thankfully he had enough respect for me to ask for permission instead of using force."
I grimaced at Tiannah’s last sentence reminiscing the time when Bryan marked me. She must have noticed my expression as she shook me out of my state.
"Are you alright?" She questioned causing me to sigh.
"The day I first met Bryan, I attempted to run from him. He was furious, his wolf took control and he marked me without permission."
Tiannah gasped at my submission and looked at me with shock whispering, "Wait, he forcibly marked you?" I nodded; I never got the chance to talk to her about everything that had happened over this past week.
I may have visited my father's territory and stayed there for 4 days where she was also present, but we were both busy. While I spent my time with my family, she was getting to know her mate even introducing him to her parents. I even overheard my father's Beta Sam telling my dad that he was fond of his daughter's mate and approved, but not that he would tell them that.
"I can't believe you didn't tell me that sooner. I know that we were both occupied but I would have dropped what I was doing! I can't believe Bryan would do that...actually, I could, but still. So, what happened?" She inquired.
We both sat there while I went over every event that had occurred this week which she intently listened to.
"So, what are you going to do about your heat, you know that it will be impossible to not mate with him during this time. No matter how much you try."
I sighed and shrugged my shoulders, recalling everything that happened earlier today. Images flew through my mind, recalling Bryan's body towering over mine dominantly, making my skin heat up.
Shaking myself out of my thinking I looked to Tiannah.
"Honestly I don't know. Would it be okay if I stayed here for a few days until it's finished?"
I was praying that she would say yes, if I went home to Bryan I wouldn't be leaving that house until I was mated and officially Luna of the Dark Apollo Pack.
Thankfully she smiled and nodded.
"Of course. You know it will be extremely painful to be such a distance away from your mate right? I'm not saying you should go back to Bryan, I just don't want to see my best friend suffering."
"I'll be fine Tiannah, I promise. Are you sure Benson won't mind? He's pretty stern and serious." We both laughed.
"I'll make sure of it, so don't worry about it. What are you going to do about Bryan though? You're going to have to contact him and tell him what you're planning on doing and I'm pretty sure he won't be overjoyed with you staying here."
I rolled my eyes when she mentioned Bryan, I knew he wouldn't be happy with my idea. Just like my wolf and I, Bryan and his wolf were able to feel the immense force of my heat, his body would react similarly to mine but he didn't feel pain meaning he could only know when my body was craving his.
It was beginning to get dark outside when the sound of a door opening startled us.
"It's only Benson." Tiannah grinned before rushing out to greet her mate. I felt jealous, and my mind drifted to my own mate.
