Chapter 277

Davyna's POV

I slowly open my eyes, letting them adjust. I look to my right andI see Caleb sleeping peacefully, his hair disheveled and slightly in his face. then look to my left and I'm met with sleepy hazel eyes. I smile, and roll to face Vincent, and he drapes his arm over my upper body and pulls me closer. He's always awake

"Good morning, love" He says, voice still thick with sleep.

"Morning, handsome." I reply and he leans in and kisses me softly.

"How are you feeling?" I stretch and wince a little as the soreness

between my legs, but then I blush remembering that I had sex with both of them last night!

"I'm okay, a little sore but I'll manage. I feel in control too. No pain." Vincent smiles widely.

"I'm glad. Last night was nothing short of amazing."

"You've got that right" Caleb says as he leans over me. trailing his fingers down my bare skin on my arm as he kisses my neck. My eyes widen as as I realize we are all still fully naked! I hadn't bothered to put clothes on after we all cleaned up since we were too tired. I totally forgot, and I'm suddenly hyper aware of how close they both are to me at this exact moment. I try to stop my rampant sexual thoughts, but it's no use.

Caleb inhales deeply. "Someone is aroused." He teases, and nibbles on my ear and I blush. He pulls me so I roll onto my back, and he climbs on top of me, and my breath catches in my throat as he pushes himself inside me.

Vincent shuffles so he is right beside me and brings my left hand under the blankets and makes me clasp my hand around his erection.

Oh fuck

"We're never going back to normal sex are we?" I manage to ask before a low moan escapes me as Caleb starts to move.

"Not a chance." Vincent and Caleb say harmoniously. What a way to start the day.

Vincent's POV

I didn't want to leave our bed this morning, but we unfortunately have to prepare for this journey to the hybrid village. I'm packing our bags as Davyna showers, and Caleb has been talking to the council to confirm our departure.

I sigh as I make mental notes of what still needs to be packed, and then my attention is drawn to the wonderful beauty that emerges from the bathroom, towel tightly wrapped around her. Her long black hair is up in another towel, and smiles at me sweetly as she heads past me and over to the closet.

My mind drifts to the events last night. The ball and dancing with her, teasing her throughout the night, then proposing and then ultimately Caleb and I having all of her; together. I watch her as she lets her hair down and changes into her bra and panties; a beautiful matching light peach colour, and then pull on a pair of grey jeans and a black tank top. She doesn't need much to enhance her beauty.

I watch her walk over to her dresser and pick up her engagement ring from beside the picture of her adoptive mother, Klaire and place it

"Hey, Vincent, Davyna? Declan, Sage and Marcella are here."I hear Caleb say from the living room. Davyna walks up to me and places her hand in mine and we walk out to greet everyone.

I see two extra sets of bags near our front door, and I look at them puzzled. Marcella then answers the question I haven't even asked yet.

"We're coming with you, and not taking no for an answer.

Davyna's POV

I look between Marcella and Sage and shake my head.

"No! There is no way it would be safe for you both to leave."

"It's not your decision to make, Davyna." Declan states and I glare at him.

"Declan, you might be my older brother, but your judgement is

severely flawed if you think this is okay. Especially for Sage. She'smhuman!"

"I've supported you in every single thing you've done D. I'm not

stopping now." Sage states strongly. Our eyes meet and she doesn't

waiver. I break the stare down to address Marcella.

"Is this even okay? what about Bloodhayen?"

"It's closed for the time being. The council wants some upgrades done while you guys are gone. We'd have nothing to do here regardless if we didn't come." I sigh in defeat.

"Fine. But you have to promise to stay safe. I don't know what is going to happen."

Marcella's eyes flash crimson. "l protect Sage and you with my life." Marcella and I stare at each other for a short while, and I nod at her.

That reminds me. I look to Caleb and Vincent. "How did you convince

the council to let us leave again so soon?"

"The engagement." Vincent states, and then continues.

"It's custom to allow engaged couples time away together to solidify the engagement."

"So you only proposed to give us time?" I question intently, my guard coming up, but Vincent smiles and shakes his head.

"No. Caleb and I had planned to propose last night regardless. We

actually ready had the ring." I look at him, my i pretty much

dropping to the floor in surprise.

"What? When?" I look down at my ring as Caleb clears his throat and draws my attention to him.

"We've had it since we all went shopping together that one time. We

knew then that this was a step we wanted to take." l inhale sharply. "

Seriously? You knew then? It was so early!" Caleb

smirks and runs his hand through his hair. "We just knew. You're our mate and we hoped you would want this, just like we did.

Well you were right in your judgement, but I just can't believe you both were so sold on me then."

"It's you, love. We will always be 'sold' on you." Vincent says as he kisses my temple, and then goes and sits on the couch. Caleb and I follow suit, as then Declan, Sage and Marcella sit down as well.

"So what is the plan today, Declan?" Vincent questions.

"Of course" He clears his throat.

"We will be driving about 4 hours north, and then I will lead you through the shrouded path to the village. The village itself is concealed in a way that even if you knew what here, you'd never be able to make it through without a guide helping you."

He crosses one leg over his other knee.

"Once in the village, Davyna will start her trait training immediately. I've already informed the elders that she is returning and requires her training It will take about two weeks, I

suspect. You all will be given accommodations while you wait for her to complete her tasks at hand." swallow loudly, my nerves bubbling up to the surface.

"There will also be a ritual for Caleb and Vincent. They will be

recognized as your mated pair and protectors, but I will explain more of that once we get to the village. Right now, we need to get ready to go. The longer we wait, the more control you will lose.

I nod and everyone stands and retrieves their bags, as Caleb and Vincent head back into our room to finish packing. I grab my phone and dial my Dad's number. He answers on the second ring.

"Hi Sweetheart. Almost ready to leave?"

"Yes, I know you're busy, so I just wanted to call to tell you that I love you and that I'll see you when I get back"

"Enjoy yourself, honey. I'l see you soon."

"Love you so so much, Dad,"

"Love you too, Davyna. Give Vincent and Caleb my love."

"I will. Bye."

"Bye." I hang up and go to help the boys in the bedroom.

It's later on, and all of us are piled into one the compound's cars and have been driving for a good few hours. Vincent and Declan are in the front driving, and myself along with Caleb, Sage and Marcella are in the back as passengers. As much as l didn't want Marcella and Sage to come, I'm glad they're here now. My nerves are complete shit, and my jaw hurts from me incessantly clenching my teeth.

Declan reinforced the barrier he's put on my mind, so here's hoping I get through this trip without losing control.

"So how was your night after you left the ball Davyna?" Sage asks and I immediately blush and avoid her gaze. I see Sage's eyes go wide out of the corner of my eye.

"SPILLING" She raises her voice and I shake my head. "No!" I reply, my voice cracking. There is no way I could tell her.

She laughs at me.

"Must have been something steamy for you to just clam up like that."

"Sage!"

"Oh she had a good night. All three of us did." Caleb says and I look at him, scowling. "Caleb!!" He did not just hint towards us all being together intimately last night!

Sage snickers but then she processes his words. Her jaw opens wide in an 'o' shape and she shrieks, "YOU NAUGHTY GIRL, YOU!"

I put my face in my hands, feeling my face become more flushed.

Marcella and Caleb laugh as Sage continues to pester me for details.

"I'm not teling you the full details, Sage!"

"So you don't deny it happening." My face pales. Shit.

"Like I've said before, you always say I'm the dirty minded one. You take the entire cake!"

"Oh shut it" l joke, shaking my head in disbelief. Caleb interrupts our bantering.

"Vincent says we're not far out from the shrouded path. About another hour." l groan. I really need out of this car.

Caleb's POV

I try hard not to snicker to myself as we get out of the car, now at the first stop in our journey to the hybrid village. I couldn't help but reveal our night to Sage and it was entertaining to see Davyna navigate the situation. I might hear it later, but oh well. She knows I do it jokingly, and I know individually anyways. So what's the harm? Declan stands in front of all of us and clears his throat.

"Before we continue, there are a couple things I need to forewarn you all about." I catch Vincent's gaze and he nods at me. Clearly Declan briefed him since they were up front together. If Vincent's alright with it.

"The shrouded path is meant to deter anyone who has ill intentions

towards the village, or those who wander in unknowingly. Whatever you do, do not touch the vegetation or listen to intently to the wildlife. These are traps laid by our elders to confuse those who enter without a guide.

If I wasn't here, you would end up walking in circles confused and

distracted until your body gave out from the exertion."

"The path itself isn't long if you know where to go. So please follow me as close as you can. I'll lead you through safely."

Davyna moves closer to me instinctively, and Vincent joins us on her other side.

I grasp her hand.

"We've got you." She tilts her head and smiles at me.

"I know"

"Someone will be sent to gather our belongings from the car. Let's go."

Declan gestures with his hand for us to proceed, and we all follow him forward into the thick brush of the trees and shrubs around us.

When we emerge. we're on a stone path. lined with an assortment of

flowers and other plants, and I see how they could be used as a trap. It's easy to want to stop and take in their beauty, but as Declan explained, that's the whole reason they're here. They line either side of the pathway, reds, blues, purples, and yellows dotted all over.

I follow Declan, still holding Davyna's hand tightly with Vincent right behind us. Sage and Marcella are right behind Vincent.

"The sounds from the bird... it's mesmerizing." Davyna states and

Declan replies to her.

"That is the exact purpose. Intruders get caught up in the wonders here and don't realize they're lost until it's impossible to return."

"Have people died in here?" Marcella asks warily.

"No, many just pass out and there are scouts who return them back

outside the path, wiping their memory. They never even know that they entered."

We remain silent, following Declan until we reach a fork in the path.

"We go left" We all follow dutifully, the tension of knowing what this place can do to someone clearly evident as we continue.

We come to another fork a short while later. Or what I think is a short while, it's hard to tell the time in here, as the abundance of flowers, trees and other vegetation make it hard for much external light to come through.

"Right, and then we will emerge at the entrance of the village."

We go along to the right, and then we emerge out of the thick vegetation of the path into a small cleared area, the stone path continuing. We continue to follow Declan and after a few minutes, a figure comes into view. I see long white robes that are touching the ground, with a prominent silver sash tied around the figure's waist. Long, grey hair lays pin straight on the figure's head, with only a partial amount tied back loosely with a white ribbon. Facial features are soft, but there is no doubt this person definitely exudes power and responsibility.

"Welcome home, Declan and company" The figure says as we stop a few

feet away.

"Elder Morrowen, I have returned with my sister Davyna and these are her close companions, Sage and Marcella.

Sage and Marcella say in unison. "Hello."

"And these are Davyna's fated mates. Vincent and Caleb." I smile

warmly.

"Hello." Vincent nods slightly and says, "Hello. Thank you for

greeting us. "Hello." Vincent nods slightly and says,

"Hello. Thank you for greeting us" .

Morrowen bows and then uprights himself as he introduces himself, his hair flowing with his movement.

"I am Morrowen, one of the elders of the village. You are Davyna, yes?" I feel Davyna tense as he approaches her and I squeeze her hand lightly. She nods and replies quietly. "Yes, that's me!"

"Welcome home, special one."

I feel Davyna's whole body tense and shake. She rips her hand out of mine and snarls, clearly losing control.

"What the fuck did you just call me?" Her tone now deadly
