Chapter 191
Rakari's POV
If I had to describe this dinner in one word it would simply be: awkward. I don't think I've ever had dinner where people are actually afraid to talk either because they're afraid that they'll upset Sharise with the words that they say or because their scared that they might get on the wrong side of Darius. I decided to send Darius a mind message of what I felt
'Honestly, this is so awkward; I don't know what to say!
He chuckled under his breath, 'And you think I would know?
'If you love me, you'll break the tension
I smirked at him and he shook his head slightly before speaking up and I internally did a happy dance at how easy it was to get him to do as I asked, I don't know why I haven't tried that before
"I'm thinking of having a pack party
Everyone looked at Darius,
"Why?"
"Well, mainly to welcome Sharise back to the pack but also because I feel like I'm not connected enough to my pack members".
I smiled,
"That's sweet".
He smiled,
"Thanks, don't think you're getting out of it though Rakari"
I groaned,
"But baby! You know I hate parties!"
Everyone laughed and I put my head on the table
"It's not funny
"It's only a party princess" I looked up at my dad,
"I know but you know how I am with big crowd's daddy"
"You were in drama club Kari, how can you be afraid of crowds?
"I was 9 mum, I had no fear but now it's just- I hate it when everyone's eyes are on me like- like they're judging me
I sighed and ran a hand through my long black hair before leaning back on the chair and closing my eyes for a brief moment
"Okay look, we don't have to have a party if you don't want to
I shook my head,
"And what kind of alpha female will I be if I don't even turn up to a pack party? Or even worse, cancel it?"
"One that doesn't like parties?"
I picked up my spoon and threw it at Darius,
"You're not funny"
He picked up the spoon and put it next to his and he looked at me and smiled
"I'm sorry but just because you're alpha female, doesn't mean you have to attend every single event that goes on in the pack house"
I sighed and turned to my dad, "Daddy, what do you think I should do?
"Darius is right baby girl but I can't tell you what I think you should do, it's up to you
"Ugh! Daddy! You are no help at all!"
He chuckled and Sharise spoke up,
"Please come Rakari"
I looked over to her,
"Why?"
"Because I missed you. I haven't seen you for, I don't even know how long and I really want to spend some time with you and what a better way to do that than a party?"
I took in what she was saying and nodded,
"Okay, only because you asked
"You two have become really close haven't you?"
I nodded,
"Yeah, for some reason, I really feel a connection with her and I don't just mean a friend connection, I'm talking about a sisterly connection but I don't know why"
"That is weird isn't it Martin?"
"I ummm- yeah, it's uhhh weird
I looked at my dad to see him look at Leila briefly before putting on a smile and I just looked at him weirdly before turning to face Darius"
"So, when are you planning on having this party?"
"I was hoping tomorrow
"Tomorrow? Isn't that a bit soon?"
"I think that the sooner the better, even though it's a bit short notice for the pack, I feel that it would be in their best interest that the party is held sooner rather than later
"Good decision son"
He smiled at his mum,
"Thanks ma and I know this is weird of me to ask but has anyone seen Adele lately?"
Everyone shook their heads, "Nope, do you even care?
He shook his head,
"Not really but even as an alpha, I still have to keep track of those who come onto my land, family or not"
"She's probably just wandered off; you know she likes to do that"
He nodded,
"Yeah, I guess so
I looked over at Sharise, "Shar, can I talk to you for a minute please?"
She looked a bit hesitant but nodded anyway and walked out of the room and I got up and gave Darius a quick peck on the lips before I walked out of the room as well and I gestured for her to go upstairs towards mine and Darius' room and she nodded and continued walking
We got to the room and when I walked in, I locked the door behind me and put on my serious face when I turned to face her, letting her know that from this point on, I meant business
"I think you know why I wanted to speak to you
She looked down and started playing with her hands before she nodded her head
"Yeah but I don't wanna talk about it, I just want to forget what happened
I sighed,
"How can you forget if you haven't actually told anyone what happened to you, you can't keep things bottled up like this"
I sighed,

"Alpha Darius said the same thing
She looked up and I looked at her confused,
"Why did you just call Darius alpha?"
"Because he is my alpha and it's disrespectful to call him Darius"
I let out a low growl and I could feel my eyes changing, "What did Marcus do to you?"
She shook her head,
"Nothing, I just realised that calling an alpha by his name isn't a good thing"
"Yeah, it's not unless they tell you otherwise, which we have"
"He taught me respect
"Who? Marcus?"
She nodded,
"Yeah"
I ran my hands over my face and went to sit down on the bed while gesturing for her to do the same
"You were already a respectful girl Sharise and by Marcus 'teaching' you about respect was pointless and he had no fucking right to do it!
She flinched away from me and brought her knees up to her chest and saw a few tears fall out of her eyes and I sighed and went to reach a hand out to her but that just made her move away from me again
"Shar, what did he do to you for you to be like this? You know that I would never lay a hand on you, why are you afraid of me?
She shook her head,
"I'm not afraid of you, I'm just- I'm cautious"
"What is there to be cautious of? You're surrounded by family and friends, you have nothing to be scared of, just tell me what Marcus did to make you so scared
"No! No no no no, I'm not gonna tell you! I don't wanna tell you! I just want to forget about it!"
She started crying and my heart just went out to her because I remember her being an out going girl who generally wasn't afraid of anything but now here she is cowering away from anything that comes close to her so I jumped to the only conclusion I had in my head
I took a deep breath and let out my assumption,
"Did he- Did he rape you?"
She looked up immediately and shook her head vigorously
"No! He didn't rape me; I promise he didn't rape me"
I let out a sigh of relief because that the main thing I was worried about because if I found out that he raped her, I would personally find him myself and kill him with my bare hands.
"Okay, can you at least tell me where he was keeping you?"
She shook her head,
"No because then you'll tell Darius and he'll go after him and I don't want that to happy
"Why? He kidnapped you Sharise, that doesn't go lightly, I may not have been alpha female for long but even I know that if a pack member gets taken by a different pack, that's technically grounds for work.
"But I don't want a war to start.
I shook my head,
"I'm sorry but the war started ages ago, when he stabbed me 3 times the war started, when he trespassed, the war continued and when he kidnapped you, the war was in full swing. He knocked out 3 of our pack fighters Sharise and you're telling me that you don't want a war to start? It's ridiculously "
"Please Rakari! Please! Call it a quite"
"I'm sorry Shar but it's not gonna happen, the war has been declared and I'm not going back on my work "
She stood up and ran out of the room and I just sighed and lay back on the back.
"Rakari"
I sat up and looked at Darius before lying back on the bed again and he walked over and sat down on the bed next to me while running his hands through my hair which was kind of making my wolf go over the edge so I just pushed her down and focused on what he was saying.
"I came up to check on you and Sharise and I just saw her running out of the room crying, what happened"
"She said that she didn't want a war to start but I told her no because it has already started and I'm not going to call it off now"
He nodded,
"She really doesn't want this war to start does she "
I shook my head and sat up to face him properly,
"She really doesn't but I can't just call it off, there is no way that I'm going to let him get away with what he's done, I'm going to make sure that he pays forget "
He took my hand in his,
"I'm with you every step of the week"
I smiled and leant my head on his shoulder and he kissed the top of my head before rubbing the back of my hand with his thumb in a calming manner and we just stayed in that position for the longest while and all the while I was thinking about Sharise and what the hell happened to her
Sharise's POV
I moved away from Rakari and Darius' door and I let my smirk surface... Phase 1 is complete. Now obviously your going to think that I genuinely don't want the war to continue but of course I do, it's the only way alpha Marcus can stay one step ahead and attack Darius. At least now that I know for certain that the war is going to continue, I can definitely try and get Darius or Rakari to take me to the meeting room and check out the plans and report back to alpha Marcus but the question is, how?.
