Chapter 190

Sharise’s POV

Well, that was much easier than I thought it would be. I can’t believe that Darius was that gullible to believe the fact that alpha Marcus just let me go like that and not to go after him, I almost laughed right then and there at how naïve he was.

I don’t actually want to hurt Rakari and I know I will because once Darius is dealt with, Rakari will probably be devastated, actually no, there’s no probably about it, she will be devastated but if I’m honest, that’s not going to stop me from teaching Darius a lesson because quite frankly, it needs to be done, he needs to be knocked off of his high horse, alpha or not,

"Sharise?"

I sat up from my bed to see Darius and I nearly growled at him but I pushed my wolf down and bowed my head to him. Even though he's no longer my alpha, I still need to pretend that he is so that he won't get suspicious,

"Alpha"

I saw him walk over at sit on my bed from the corner of my eye so I took that as my cue to lift my head,

"I want to ask you some questions, if that's okay"

"About what?"

"What happened when Marcus took you?"

Well, i guess it's time for my drama lessons to kick in... Cue the waterworks,

"I- I'd rather not t-talk about that"

I ducked my head and he sighed which made a small smirk slip onto my face before I put on my sad face again,

"I understand that you don't want to talk about

"I understand that you don't want to talk about it but I need to know what happened"

I shook my head just as a tear fell from my face,

"Please don't make me talk about it"

I heard him growl under his breath,

"I'm gonna kill him"

I felt him rise from the bed and I jumped up and grabbed his wrist and he turned around and looked at my hand on his wrist and I let go quickly realising my mistake. It's very disprespectful for anyone to touch an alpha anywhere except for his mate.

I took a step back and looked to the ground mentally cursing myself for slipping up. Because Darius isn't my alpha anymore, that rule doesn't actually apply to me in his pack but obviously, he still thinks that i'm in his pack and me touching him like that just broke one of the rules,

"My aplogies alpha, that was a mistake, I promise it won't happen again" If it does, alpha Lukas won't be happy,

"It's fine Sharise, I'm not going to do anything"

I looked up at him and gave him a small smile,

"Thank you, It's just that, Marcus- he was-"

He cut me off by putting a hand up,

"I understand Sharise, his way of running things are, in simple terms, diabolical"

I refused to speak a bad word about my alpha so I just stood there in silence,

"Rakari was really worried about you"

I nodded,

"I missed her" At least that wasn't a complete lie. I genuinely did miss Rakari because just like her, I also felt a connection between us which is realy weird because even though she's alpha female, I don't really know.

"Sharise?"

I came out of my daydream, "Sorry alpha, feel free to punish me because of my disrespect"

I mentally rolled my eyes and the words coming out of my mouth because even I knew that my acting skills were good enough for him not to punish me and because I literally have his precious mate wrapped around my finger,

"That is not reason for punishment, look, how about I invite you and your mum to join us for dinner?"

"You mean with you and Rakari?"

He nodded and smiled,

"Yes, I'm sure Rakari would love it"

"I don't think that's appropriate, I'm merely a pack member"

"It's not like your coming without permission, I'm inviting you"

'Alpha Marcus?'

'What is it Sharise?'

'Darius has invited me to dinner, is it in my best interest to go? He's right here waiting for an answer'

'For such a smart girl, you sometimes have no common sense, of course you should go!'

'Okay alpha'

I cut off the link and nodded at Darius,

"Okay, even though this is going to go around the whole pack today, I'll accept your offer"

He smiled,

"Okay great, do you want to see Rakari now?"

I nodded and he held out his hand for me to take but I just shook my head to which he shrugged and gestured for me to follow him. I walked behind him and thought to myself, I can't believe he just offered me his hand... An alpha, just offered me his hand. I let out an inaudible growl at the fact that not long ago, Darius didn't even acknnowledge a pack member like me but as soon as his mate starts to notice me, he does to.

I am so glad that alpha Marcus showed me the truth otherwise I'd still be oblivious to the fakeness of the guy in front of me, I just can't believe i didn't notice it earlier, now that i'm looking for it, the signs are completely obvious, it's actually ridiculous!

I followed behind Darius into the lounge where we saw Rakari with her brother who had his arm wrapped around some girl, so I'm just going to assume it's his mate,

"Rakari"

She looked away from her brother and turned to face us and she smiled warmly at me and gestured for me to sit next to her so I walked past Darius and sat down next to her and she pulled me in for a hug and at that moment, i almost felt bad that I'm going to be involved in the killing of her mate but then I shrugged it off when i looked at Darius.

"I really missed you Shar"

"I missed you too"

She pulled away and a guilty look spread across her face,

"I'm so sorry. We tried to find you Sharise honestly but we couldn't find you! I just- It's all my fault!"

I looked at her with a genuine shocked expression on my face because I honesty didn't know that she felt this way towards me being kidnapped,

"It wasn't your fault"

"Yeah Kari, you didn't mean for any of this to happen"

"Oh, where are my manners, Sharise, this is my twin brother Mhakir and his mate Francesca"

I looked at Francesca and then back at Darius with a confused look,

"Wait, didn't you two- I swear you- You've been-"

Sakari cut me off with a laugh, "I think i understand what you're trying to say, her and Darius, yes they did have a fling, luckily for him I'm a forgiving person and in his defence, Francesca's a slut"

Mhakir growled at Rakari, "Watch what you say about my mate... Sister or not, watch your mouth"

Francesca shook her head and put her hand on his arm which instantly calmed him down,

"It's fine, she's right but I'm not sleeping around anymore, I have you now"

Rakari rolled her eyes and turned back to face me,

"So, Darius told me you said yes to joining us for dinner"

I nodded,

"Yeah, after being locked in darkness for a while, I think it would be best to be around you guys"

Cue the anger,

"He did what?"

Cue waterworks. I looked down, "He locked me in darkness the whole time with only 2 meals a day"

I could see Rakari clench her fists from my periphiral vision,

"Fucking bastard! We need to make him pay!"

I looked up and shook my head, "Please don't! Please! I don't want a war to start!"

Darius looked at me dumbfounded,

"To start? The war started when he stabbed my mate and was confirmed when he kidnapped you!! The war has started already Sharise!!"

I let the tears freely flow from my eyes and I sunk deeper into the chair and closed my eyes making it seem like Darius shouting at me effected me to the point where I was scared of him when in reality, I was pissed that he was short.

"Darius! You idiot!"

"I'm sorry!"

Rakari pulled me into a hug and I leaned into her shoulder which is when I let my smirk come out. I think this 'lure Darius' plan is going to be easier than i first though. 1- because I'm a fantastic actor and persuader to the point where I could probably convince someone that they've committed a crime that haven't actually committed. 2- because Rakari believes everything that I say and will protect me even against her own mate and 3- because Darius will do anything to make his mate happy which I could definitely use to my advantage... Oh please, who am I kidding? I can use all 3 reasons to my advantage and I will use them wisely because I do not plan on messing up this plan and most of all, I don't intend on failing alpha Lukas. I made a pledge that i would serve him no matter what and give my all to him and that is what I plan to do, even if it means hurting people in the process.

I pulled out of the hug after a long enough time and wiped away my fake tears,

"Sorry"

Sakari shook her head,

"It's not you who should be apologising"

She gave a pointed look towards Darius and he sighed before looking at me,

"I'm sorry for shouting at you Sharise, I was just angry at what Marcus did and I took my anger out on you, it was out of line and i'm trully sorry"

I nodded,

"Wait until I tell my mum an alpha apologised to me"

Everyone laughed and Darius started speaking again, much to my annoyance,

"How is your mum taking all of this?"

"I ummmm- I don't know, she acts likes she's fine but I know that she's upset, she just doesn't want to show it"

"Maybe she just wants to be strong for you"

No shit sherlock, I thought in my head when Darius said that but instead I went for the desperate daughter act and said,

"I know but I just wish that she'd talk to me! I've been away from her for ages and she's trying to be strong?! I don't need her to be strong, I need her to be my mother!"

I let my tears flow freely and I stood up from the sofa and walked out of the room much to the protests of Rakari and Darius but I just continued walking until I got to my room where I quickly locked the door and wiped away the tears before sitting on my bed and sending alpha Marcus a mind message,

'Alpha Marcus, I'm making progress'

'How much progress? It better not be disappointing Sharise'

I smirked,

'You'll be impressed. I'm well into getting sympathy from Darius, at this rate, I'll have him alone'

'Alpha Marcus, I'm making progress'

'Well, I must say Sharise, you have definitely impressed me today'

'Thank you alpha'

'Has he suspected anything yet?'

I decided to leave out my slip up so instead i merely said, 'No, he suspects nothing'

'Very good, I'm proud of you, continue what you're doing'

'Yes alpha, I'll report back to you later after the dinner'

'Wait Sharise, I want you to do something else for me'

'What is it?'

'Make him take you to the meeting room'

I looked at the wall confused, 'He doesn't have one'

'Every alpha has one Sharise, it merely takes a matter of finding, but instead of searching for it, make him take you willingly'

'Okay, then what?'

'He must have plans regarding the war an his attacks, i want you to look at them discreetly and report back to me what their planning so we'll be one step ahead, do you understand what I'm asking of you?'

I nodded even though he couldn't see me,

'I understand completely alpha'

'Good girl, don't fail me'

He cut off the link and I sighed and lay back on my bed but then I heard a knock on my door,

"Who is it?!"

"Darius"

I let out a low growl, can't he just leave me alone?!

"I really don't want to talk to anyone right now alpha, I'm sorry"

"I understand, just don't keep things bottled up for too long, it's not good for you"

Neither is being fake but you don't hear me saying that to you, I thought in my head,

"I'll keep that in mind alpha"

"Okay good, Rakari will come and get you for dinner okay?"

"Sure thing"

I heard his footsteps move away from my door and I sighed. I know that this plan is going to be easier but the question is, will I be able to keep my cool? Will I be able to keep up my facade?

I started thinking about all the things that could go wrong until I came to my senses and shook the thoughts away. I refuse to have any doubts about whether or not this plan is going to work because I refuse to fail my alpha, if he's happy, then I'm happy and that's all that matters.
