Chapter 160
Darius's POV
I couldn't help but watch Rakari as she slept peacefully in my arms. Everything about her is angelic... Her voice, her personality, her smile, her eyes. I could go on for years about how perfect she was.
I lifted my hand up to slowly caress her cheek with my thumb and a smile crept onto her face as she continued to sleep. I decided not to wake her though so I carefully moved my arm from around her waist and quietly tip-toed out of the room.
I walked downstairs into the kitchen and much to my dismay I wasn't the only one. Marcus was casually sitting at the table eating coco pops like he's been living here for weeks,
"Are you just going to stand there?"
He turned around with a smirk on his face and I just scowled at him,
"I know what you're trying to do Marcus but it won't work, I can promise you that now"
"And what exactly am I trying to do Darius?"
"You're trying to steal Rakari from me but I won't let it happen"
He continued to smirk at me and the way he was so nonchalant about everything just got me even more angry,
"I won't need to steal her from you, she'll come to me willingly"
He went back to eating his coco pops and I was just about to ask what he meant by that when Mhakir walked into the room looking unusually happy at 7:30 in the morning,
"What's up guys?"
I looked at him weirdly,
"Why are you so happy?"
"So I can't be happy?"
"Not this early"
He laughed and got out the box of sugar puffs along with a bowl and I just waited for an answer patiently.
When he finally finished 'making' his cereal, he turned to face me,
"I'm happy because I got 4 girls"
"You player"
"Hypocrite" Marcus muttered under his breath and I let out a low growl which he returned with another smirk and it took every strength in me not to rip him to pieces.
Mhakir noticed the sudden tension in the room and decided to break the silence,
"Ummmm, so yeah, like I was saying, I'm happy because school actually paid off"
I smiled,
"You're there to learn, not to find girls"
"Oh please, wouldn't you be happy if you had 4 girls fighting over you?"
"He better not be because I'm the only girl that he should be fighting for"
Just hearing her voice made my smile get wider and when I turned to face her my breathing hitched a little at how sexy she looked,
"It's a bit early for you to be lusting over me Darius" She said in a seductive voice and I looked into her eyes and smirked,
"You just love teasing me don't you?"
She smiled innocently,
"I have no idea what you're talking about"
I walked up to her and put my hands on her.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about"
I traced her body with my eyes and looked back up at her to give her a hint and she smirked,
"Just wanted to see your reaction"
"I'll give you one"
I was about to lean down and kiss her when I heard a cough behind me,
"Yeah, we are still here you know"
I chuckled and just gave her a quick peck on the lips before turning back to face Mhakir and the enemy,
"You didn't have to look"
"Yes but I'd still know you were doing it, she's my little sister"
"By 2 minutes Mhakir!"
"You're still younger than me sis"
He winked at her and she smiled in return. She sat down at the table and she started talking to Marcus and as much as I wanted to intervene, I knew I couldn't so I just made an excuse to leave,
"Kari?"
She looked up at me,
"Yeah?"
"I need to go and speak to Rhylie, I won't be long"
I turned to walk out when she spoke out,
"Hold it! Don't even think about walking out that door"
I stopped but I didn't turn around,
"Look at me Darius"
I turned around to face her to see that she was now directly in front me, she moves fast!
"You think you can just walk out of here like that?"
I nodded hesitantly,
"I didn't see the problem"
She raised an eyebrow at me, "Sooooo, you were just going to walk out and not give me a kiss?"
Relief spread through me when I realised I hadn't done anything serious and I leaned down next to her ear,
"You're brother and your ex is still here though"
She whispered back,
"They don't have to look"
I leaned back and smirked before leaning forward and pressing my lips to hers. She responded immediately by wrapping her arms around my neck and pulling me closer and I heard Marcus growl so I just flipped him off behind Rakari's back and I heard Mhakir chuckle which just made me smile against Rakari's lips.
I pulled away from her and leaned my forehead against hers,
"I love you"
She smiled and gave me a peck on the lips,
"I love you too" She leaned back,
"You should go, wouldn't want to keep Rhylie waiting"
That just made me remember why I was leaving in the first place,
"Right, don't miss me too much"
"I'll try not to oh handsome one!" She replied in a sarcastic tone and I just laughed and walked out of the kitchen even though it pained me with every step I took knowing that I left her with the enemy, lets just hope Mhakir stays with her until I go back.
On my way to my study, I bumped into someone and I was just about to scold them when I realised who it was,
"Ah Rhylie! Just the person I wanted to see"
He looked at me confused,
"Why do you want to see me?"
"Come into my study"
His face now showed an expression of fear probably because he knew that I only bring people into my study when they were in trouble.
We walked into my study and I took a seat while he took a seat opposite me,
"So Rhylie"
"Look Darius, I have no idea what I've done wrong, I swear to you that I didn't do anything!"
"Woah woah woah, calm yourself there"
He took a few deep breaths before speaking again,
"I'm sorry I'm just confused as to why I'm here"
"You haven't done anything wrong Rhylie, stop panicking, I just wanted to talk"
He looked at me wearily,
"About what?"
I shrugged,
"Nothing in particular, have you found your mate yet?"
He shook his head,
"Not yet, at this rate I don't think I'll ever find her"
"Just remember that I thought the same thing not long ago but now look, I have Rakari"
I smiled at the thought of my mate before Rhylie spoke again,
"I know but I just feel like giving up now, its not going to happen"
I sighed,
"Look, Rhylie, you're great guy and everyone knows that and I know that you'll find you're mate sooner than you think, trust me"
He smiled,
"Since when have I ever trusted you?"
"True say"
His face changed to turn serious so I knew that he was about to talk business,
"Remember the trespasser's?"
"How could I forget, they stupidly went onto Alastair's territory"
"Tell me you're joking"
He shook his head,
"I'm being serious, Danny and Hunter caught them coming back at around 3am last night and when they questioned them, they told them the truth"
"That they trespassed?"
He nodded,
"Exactly"
"Bring them all to me now"
"Don't do anything drastic Darius"
"Just go and get them"
He nodded and walked out of the study and I ran my hands through my hair in frustration and anger. I can't believe even after I ordered them again not to trespass of Alastair's territory they still went and done it, they disobeyed an alpha's order, twice!
I heard a knock on the door, "Enter"
The door opened wider and in walked the 8 culprits from last time,
"Close the door behind you"
The last boy closed the door and walked over to join the others. They all stood shoulder to shoulder and I just sat and looked them all over noticing that they all held the same expression... Fear,
"You should be scared boys because I am not a happy alpha"
They all gulped visibly at the same time,
"I thought I made myself perfectly clear before when I told everyone not to step foot on the dark moon territory but that obviously didn't seem to get through to the 8 of you"
I leaned forward in the chair, "Now, would any of you like to tell me whose idea it was to trespass in the first place?"
They all stayed silent,
"So you're telling me that you all randomly decided to meet up on the exact same day and time and not one of you organised it?"
They nodded but I knew they were lying, I was obvious in the hesitation they put into the nod. I decided to try the lie detector test. I stood up and walked around my desk so that I could look into each of their eyes, I knew when someone was lying because their eyes gave it away so this should be pretty easy.
I looker into the eyes of the first boy, Steven but all he showed was fear so I moved onto Charles but he was the same. Kyle and Jason were the same as well so I moved onto David and his eyes showed something that the others didn't... Guilt,
"It was you wasn't it?"
He gulped and nodded,
"Yes alpha" he said shakily,
"Did anyone else help you to plan it?"
"No alpha"
His eyes showed truth so I knew he wasn't lying.
"I can't believe you. You disobeyed my orders once and I let you off lightly but disobeying it twice is not acceptable. You have no idea how serious this is do you? You can't because if you did you wouldn't have done it-"
I got cut off by David,
"We're sorry!"
My eyes flashed red,
"You dare to interrupt the alpha!!"
