Chapter 59

Luara's POV

Did I just hear that right? Bryan was sending Benson to the pack prison after he promised he wouldn't.

My blood began to boil, Bryan had lied. He said that nothing was going to happen to Benson. Did he just say that because Tiannah was emotional?

Without knocking, I walked into Bryan's office. His head immediately looked in my direction wanting to know who just barged into his office unannounced and uninvited.

By my face, Bryan could tell I was furious. He told the person on the telephone that he had to go and put the phone down.

He crocked his eyebrow up, silently questioning me on why I had entered his office.

"You said that nothing was going to happen to Benson, yet here you are demanding one of your pack members to drag him to the pack cells!" I said angrily, I kept my voice to a whisper though, I didn't want Tiannah to wake up and hear.

"If he would have listened to me after I told him to go home then he wouldn't be sitting in those cells right now. Not only has he disrespected me and not listened to my orders, he decided to attack my pack members, leaving one in a serious condition."

"Oh," I was shocked, Benson attacked other pack members and one was seriously hurt.

"So, what's going to happen now then?"

I didn't want anything bad to happen, I didn't want to have Tiannah more upset than what she already was.

"I haven't decided yet." His tone had an edge to it, making me wonder if there was more to this.

"What's that supposed to mean? He will be alright?" I frowned at him unsure.

"Luara, this doesn't concern you. You're not getting involved in this situation." He said dismissively, turning back to his computer.

My frown deepened as I walked further into his office.

"It concerns me when it has to do with my best friend."

"I haven't decided yet, I need to make some calls, I'll see you in bed once I've finished."

I growled, irritated but agreed and went to bed deciding it might help defuse the situation if we didn't have a discussion right now.

Once I got into bed, I wondered whether I should tell Tiannah, leaving Benson in a cell until morning was probably the best thing, he did need to calm down after he attacked innocent pack members because he was enraged with the situation with Tiannah. Leaving him there for the night will give him time to think and to calm down.

I woke up early the next day, quietly leaving Bryan in bed. I found Tiannah awake downstairs with Lopez in the kitchen. After greeting them, I told Tiannah what had happened excluding the part where Bryan wouldn't tell me what his punishment would be.

Tiannah was in hysterics; she couldn't believe that her mate had hurt other pack members and she apologized for his actions constantly. Lopez helped calm Tiannah down as she became extremely upset.

Once she was more relaxed, we started to walk toward the pack cells. I asked Lopez not to say anything to Bryan and she said she wouldn't but she was a second mother to Bryan so I was unsure.

Tiannah grabbed my hand as we began descending the stairs to the cells. It was gloomy and dark, not somewhere you'd want to be and we were met by two guards.

"Luna." They both said in unison.

"Does the Alpha know you're here?" One questioned.

"Yes," I lied, knowing that he hadn't.

"Not that you should be questioning me on what I'm doing." My tone was rough, I didn't want him to question me and then confirm with Bryan.

He nodded and moved from the door. "Do you want me to come in with you Luna?" The other guard asked.

"Yes please." Tiannah answered for me. He looked at me for the final answer even though Tiannah said yes. I nodded and followed behind him as he led us toward the cell Benson was in.

Benson was lying on his cell bed, with his arms behind his head as we neared closer to him, he stood up and came towards the bars. Sensing his mate was near.

"Tiannah," He breathed as he saw her, his arms reaching out of the cells wanting to touch her.

Tiannah moved from me, closer to her mate. She looked angry and hurt.

"Why did you hurt those pack members?"

"I didn't mean to, my anger took over. You didn't want to talk to me, you wouldn't let me explain what you saw. And I never meant to hurt Jason or Drake." The remorse was clear in his voice.

"One's in serious condition Ben, what's going to happen if he dies?"

Benson looked to the ground and then ran a hand through his hair as he turned the other way for a moment.

Turning back, he stared into Tiannah's sad eyes.

"I don't know." He sighed deeply.

"I can't think about that right now, I just need to sort us out first. I need to sort out each situation one at a time. Just let me explain what happened yesterday with Laurel."

I decided to leave them to their conversation, but I looked at Tiannah before I left, in case she wanted me to stay. She nodded for me to leave and I did, heading towards Bryan's office within the pack prison.

I sat in his office for a while, with the guard standing outside the door. I noticed that there was also a cell in his office, but it wasn't like the others, this one was clean and unoccupied.

Not long after, my wolf felt restless and began to surface which meant that Bryan was close. He knew we were here which meant nothing good. Bryan soon walked into the office, his eyes dark.
Neither of us said anything, and I knew he was waiting for me to explain myself. I wasn't going to, so I stared at him.

"You're leaving right now." He demanded as he approach me.

"I didn't do anything." I said annoyed, rolling my eyes.

"I told you, this has nothing to do with you. Yet you once again disobey me and try to find out what's happening. You and Tiannah are leaving now.".

He grabbed me by my arm and began dragging me out of the prison even grabbing Tiannah with his other arm which only made Benson mad.

We could hear Benson's growls as he was forced away from his mate.

"Bryan!" I screamed as he pushed me and Tiannah into the arms of pack warriors.

I growled at him as he walked away, and he simply ignored me. I pulled myself from a warrior's arm.

"I can make my own way." I said, pulling Tiannah away from the guards as we headed home.

We immediately went to the kitchen where we found Lopez, by our faces Lopez realized that Bryan found us. "Come on, sit down and I'll make you both lunch."

Tiannah and I both nodded, as we sat down.

Tiannah looked at me, "You, you don't think he would hurt him?"

She was talking about Bryan and Benson. I didn't answer her, pretending not to hear as I didn't know the answer. I didn't know what Bryan was going to do and that frightened me.

Sensing I wasn't going to answer we sat there in uncomfortable silence until Lopez placed our lunch in front of us.

"Thanks Lopez."

"That's okay, enjoy." Lopez said as she placed her own food in front of her sitting with us at the table.

"Where's Luke and Andrew?" I questioned wanting the awkward silence to be filled.

"Luke's visiting his sister at another pack and Andrew's around somewhere." She said, placing some food on her fork.

"Which pack?"

Lopez looked at Tiannah since she asked the question.

"The Alaskan Bay pack, heard of it?"

We both nodded, it was a small but strong pack in the North West.

"Why didn't you go with him?"

"I always get homesick. He likes to stay there for a few days and I can't leave my boys here on their own. Imagine leaving Andrew and Bryan to their own devices, my phone would none stop ringing." She laughed.

I laughed as Bryan and Andrew did rely on Lopez for nearly everything. Bryan was always asking Lopez if she knew where he left certain paperwork and Lopez would always make him food if he wanted it, even though Bryan could do it perfectly by himself. Bryan wasn't her biological son, but she loved him like he was her own.

"She could always come here if you want, saves you from that journey." I said, getting up to wash my plate.

"Thank you. Luara, Luke's sister has young pups so it's easier for her for us to travel to her. Luke doesn’t mind since all his family is up there." Smiling she began to clean up the table since we had all finished our lunch.

We were all cleaning up when I heard the front door slam shut. We all looked at each other knowing that it was Bryan. Tiannah looked worried since none of us knew what happened after we left.

I needed to talk to Bryan so I decided to follow him, storming into his office. He was sitting at his desk, typing on his computer and he didn't even flinch when the door slammed against the wall from the force that I opened it with.

I stood in front of his desk, staring at him with daggers. He didn't even look up from his computer.

"Yes?"

"Are you kidding me Bryan? Seriously?" I questioned, annoyed.

"What's happened or happening with Benson?"

"He's fine." He stated, simply.

I crocked my left eyebrow, studying him. "If he's fine then why do I feel like there's something you're not telling me?"

A smirk appeared on his face, making butterflies appear in my stomach but not the good ones.

"What have you done?" I questioned, worry clear in my tone. Everyone knew that Bryan was known for his brutal and merciless punishments.

"If he wants to fight my wolves then he may, but nobody will stop until death."
