Chapter 39

Luara's POV

I could practically see the internal battle through his eyes as he fought with his wolf over my comment. Having a family was a bit of a sore subject for him, it was something he valued tremendously.

Thankfully it worked, even if it was a low blow to use his emotions against him.

I watched him click his neck, moving his head side to side before a low growl hummed in the back of his throat.

"You stay at my side the whole time, you can try to run but you will fail. I will slaughter each and every single wolf your father has brought with him if you even attempt to leave."

His words carried a promise and I knew he was capable of the underlining treat he gave me.

"Okay." I nodded. He gave me a small nod after staring into my eyes for a minute trying to see if I was up to anything.

Grabbing my hand and quickly giving Lopez a kiss on the cheek, he began telling her to stay inside the house, making sure to mention guards surrounding the building. Bryan then pulled me through the house and towards the front entrance.

As we began walking into the woods, I turned around to look at the house noticing all the muscled men some even in their wolf form surrounding the area, with a few of them following behind us.

It didn't take long for us to get to the clearing where I heard one of the men tell Bryan that my father was there. Bryan's grip tightened on my hand as we began to feel the presence of pack wolves, and the tense vibe that seemed to fill the air.

"I know she's here and I want to see her right now!" My father's voice echoed through the trees of the forest, you could hear his anger and the dominance of his wolf through his tone. Bryan pulled me faster towards the clearing when the sounds of growling entered our hearing.

Wolves are extremely protective of their young and can sense when they're in danger. My father has always been over-protective of me especially after I was kidnapped by my mother's ex and a crazed rogue Alpha.

"Luara!" My mom shouts relief laced in her voice as she runs towards me. She instantly pulls me into her arms and into a tight embrace and a small smile found its way to my face.

A low growl left Bryan's mouth and he pulled me out of my mother's hold and into his. He was feeling protective and possessive, not wanting to let me go especially since he just marked me.

His wolf was feeling on edge due to not fully mating with me.

A warning growl left my father's mouth as he pulled my mom into his arms placing her protectively at his side. Both Bryan's pack members and my father's got into defensive positions, some even shifting to snarl and growl at each other.

"Please, no arguing," I pleaded to both packs.

"This is unnecessary. Dad, I'm fine, I found my mate and there's no need to worry." My dad eyed me from head to toe analyzing whether or not I was harmed in any way.

But his line of sight soon met the red mark embedded in the skin of my neck; his eyes going darker and darker the longer he stared at it.

My dad's eyes darted straight to Bryan's giving him an intense glare which Bryan equally returned.

"Luara, come here." My father said calmly, with an edge of anger. I knew deep down that my dad's intentions were only to protect me.

Everyone knew who Bryan Daniels was and he didn't have the best reputation.

My dad used to tell me to never adventure out from our territory as the Dark Apollo pack was ruthless and cruel. When Bryan fights, he fights to the death.

His whole body was covered in deep scars especially his chest and back all because his father had drilled the thought into his head as a young child.

"Dad, I-" I started, only to be interrupted by my dad.

"Come here." He demanded with his alpha tone, it made me want to go over there but because I wasn't in his pack anymore I could fight it.

"Don't talk to her like that." Bryan said with the same tone my dad had used while pulling me closer to his body, not wanting to let me go.

It was clear that both Alphas were prepared to challenge each other but I knew Bryan would go for the kill whether his opponent was my father or not.

"I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to my daughter and we're about to leave." I saw my mom grip her arms tighter around my dad's body.

"Torey." She said, calling his name but he ignored her, his eyes totally focused on me.

"My pup is coming back with me." A snarl left my father's mouth as he glared at my mate.

"She's my mate and my pack’s Luna and she's staying here with me." Bryan's voice slipped into a growl at the end as his eyes darkened.

"No,"

"Yes," Bryan said, his voice sounding low but deadly.

"My daughter is coming home with me!" My dad said with a snarl. I shifted around to face Bryan, holding onto his shirt tightly as he began to shake from anger, he was trying to hold his wolf back but he was struggling and the status of his wolf wasn't helping.

Two dominant Alphas in the same place at the same time was a deadly situation.

"Bryan," I whispered, gripping tighter to him making sure to push my body closer to his. I needed him and his wolf to calm down, if he starts a fight with my father a whole war will break out.

He looks down and raises his eyebrows at me.

"You need to calm down." I say pleadingly. If Bryan is unable to establish some form of relationship with my parents then how could I accept him as my mate?

"Mine," He whispered lowly in my ear. The possessiveness in his voice worried me slightly while making me feel safe and protected at the same time.

The sound of my mom harshly telling my dad to stop growling caught our attention, bringing us out of our own little bubble and making my father and Bryan meet eye contact again.

Both Bryan's and my father's eyes were flashing black, their wolves both hovering at the edge of their minds ready to come out.

"I refuse to leave my daughter in the hands of you and your pack." My father said sternly, his voice holding no hesitation and disgust. My dad has always been protective of his family, especially his girls.

"Torey!" My mother scolded my father with her hand on her hip.

"If I remember correctly, you got me pregnant at seventeen!" My dad gave my mom the flat look before his eyes suddenly went wide looking straight at my stomach.

My mouth widened as I realized what he was thinking.

"I am not pregnant! I've only been gone for one day!" I shouted outraged, my face turning into a look of horror. "Unbelievable" I muttered.

"Well, sorry baby girl but you're already marked and you only left yesterday. How do I know if you even wanted to be marked?" Both mine and Bryan's bodies stiffened, with my eyes going slightly wider than normal.

A deep suspicious frown made its way onto my father's face as he stared at both of us through narrowed eyes.

"He did ask for your permission right?" He questioned with one eyebrow arching up. My mouth went dry as I tried to find the will to speak, knowing this would only end badly.
