Chapter 249
Dayyna's POV
(The Next Day)
I groan loudly as I slump onto my couch. I offered to help Marcella get Bloodhaven all set up for the event tonight that I'm not working, since I'm heading out to Avern with Vincent tonight. Little did I know, she was going to put me through the ringer. I'm exhausted.
"No need for a workout today..." I drape my arm over my eyes as I slouch further into the couch. I'm startled by a light tap on my door.
"Who could that be?" l ask myself and I struggle to get up. I make my way over to the door and open it to reveal a familiar chiseled face, blue eyes and black wavy hair.
"Hi Caleb." I say smiling widely
"Do you have some time to come out to the woods with me?"I nod. "I'm already packed and ready to go so, yeah I can come." He
flashes me that wide smile I love so much.
"Just let me get my phone." He nods and holds the door open as I grab my phone off my coffee table, stick it in my back pocket of my jeans and we head towards the elevator hand in hand.
I shield my eyes with my hand as we get outside near the woods area. follow Caleb eagerly, letting him walk ahead as he leads me to the tree line. I take the time to admire him from the back. He's in black sweats and a white tank, with his muscled arms fully on display. I bite my lip.
"Like what you see?" He says suddenly and I look up to see him looking back at me and I stumble. I can't help but chuckle at myself. Damn. I got caught.
"What do you think?" I reply curtly. He laughs and keeps walking. I
continue to follow him until we're back

"Why are we here Caleb?"
"I know this place doesn't have great memories for you, but it's a big enough space for Kaius to roam freely. He wants to see you before you leave tonight with Vincent. Is that okay?"
Kaius.... it's been a while since I last saw him. I can only imagine he's chomping at the bit for Caleb to shift.
"Of course it is. l'd love to see him."
"I'm not going to hide the shift from you this time. Just a warning, it looks painful, but I don't feel it. Don't worry okay?"
"Okay." I reply and then Caleb takes off his shirt and discards it in the brass beside him. Hubba Hubba. I see him stretch, all of his upper body muscles flexing.
I'm brought out of my lusting stare when I realize.. he's shifting so... he's going to be naked. Right in front of me. I feel the blood rushing to my cheeks and I go to turn my head away as I see him grab the waistband of his sweats. He pauses for a moment to look back at me, blue eyes smoldering, and then says huskily, "Don't turn away Davyna. Look at me"
"l can't Caleb, this is just.." I'm cut off by his large body in front of me. He grabs my chin lightly and makes me look at his handsome face, as I rest my hands on his chest. I could get used to this.
"You need to get comfortable with this part of me, okay? Please just try" I sigh lightly,
"Okay." He's right. He's a werewolf. This is his nature, and nudity is normal. I can't keep shying away from him, I'm his mate, and who knows, I might have a wolf too once we figure out this dormant bullshit happening with me.
"Thank you" He smiles at me and walks ahead of me again, fingers hooked in the waistband of his sweats yet again. I keep my promise and keep my eyes on him. I can't help but inhale sharply as he discards his pants in one fell swoop and i get a full view of his ass. Immediately I see him shake slightly, and then he falls on all fours as grey fur sprouts all over his body. I hear bones cracking and shifting, making me queasy,but in a matter of moments, Kaius turns and looks at me, yellow eyes piercing through me. He strides up to me and lowers his head to me. I reach out and feel his silky fur.
"Hi, Kaius. Miss me?" He huffs at me and pushes past my hand to nuzzle into my side.
"l guess that's a yes?" He huffs again and I feel him nudge my ass twice, and walk a few paces ahead of me. "What is it?" l ask him, wishing I could understand him. He paws the grass and then lowers himself onto the ground, jerking his head slightly behind him. I stare for a short moment, trying to figure it out and then it hits me.
"You want me to get on your back?" I see Kaius nod his head slightly. I walk over and stand beside him.
"You sure?" A small playful growl comes from his throat and I chuckle.
"Okay, okay." I grab onto his fur lightly, trying not to pull it too much and I swing my leg over and adjust myself so I'm comfortably sitting on his back. He then stands up and I gasp, having forgotten just how big he is as an Alpha wolf.
I hold onto his neck tightly and lean slightly forward as he walks slowly.
"This is nice, Kaius. I'm sorry I don't see you often. Tell Caleb that I'd like to. I know you won't hurt me.!"
He huffs in response and then starts to run. I laugh as I feel the air hit my face as he picks up speed. I hold onto his fur tighter, making sure not to fall off. We run like that for a short while and then he stops and lowers himself to allow me to get off.
Once l'm back on the ground, Kaius nudges me a bit harder and I end up on my ass

"Hey!" I say loudly and then giggle as Kaius licks my face. He lays down beside me and places his paw on my leg, then lays his head down on top, allowing me to pet him as we relax.
"This is all so surreal." I mumble to myself and I see Kaius ears perk up he listens to me.
"It's hard to believe some days that this is my life now. I used to be so full of hate and anger and I never expected this is where l'd be."
Kaius licks my hand and I smile. Looking up at the tree covered sky, I keep talking.
"l honesty thought that it would have been better if I had died with my mom that day." Kaius whines and nuzzles more into my hand.
"I'm okay, I promise." l look at him with tears in my eyes. "I didn't just get Caleb and Vincent. I got you too, Kaius. I'm so thankful to have all of you in my life. You've showed me there is more to life again. I'm still angry, but I feel like I can take that on too."
I cup my hands on either side of Kaius' snout and kiss his nose. "I love you too, you know" He howls softly and licks my face again. We stay sitting down in the clearing until the sun goes down. I hear my phone ring and I fish it out of my pocket."
"It's Vincent, you two." Kaius huffs and closes his eyes. I answer the phone.
"Hi Vincent...yeah l'm out in the clearing in the woods with Kaius. Caleb wanted me to spend some time with him before we head okay. see you soon." I hang up and lay back on the grass.
A few moments later, Kaius rises off of me and howls louder this time and licks my face once more before I hear the now familiar sound of bones cracking. I get up just as a full naked Caleb walks up to me. I can't help but stare at him and it takes all my willpower to not look lower, in an attempt to keep my modesty.
"Can you get my shirt for me?" He asks, as he puts on his pants and I take a look around and see it a short distance from me. l jog over to grab them and as I turn around, I'm met with Caleb's bare chest again. He takes the shirt from me and tucks it in his waistband as he eyes me over. I blush and he pulls me into him and kisses me.
"Kaius loved spending time with you. He's really content right now. I haven't felt this calm in a long while.
"I'm glad. l enjoyed it." He kisses me again and I shriek as he picks me up unexpectedly. I wrap my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist to stabilize myself and I realize instead of holding onto my thighs like he usually does, he's fully cupping my ass with both hands.
I clear my throat.
"Caleb."
"Oh quiet. You're leaving me fora week." He shushes me with a hard
kiss. I can't help but moan into it, and run my hands down his strong arms as he holds me up so easily. He breaks the kiss and nuzzles his face into my neck and I hear him inhale deeply.
"Why do you do that?" I ask and he smiles.
"It's your scent. I couldn't detect it as much before but now that our bonds are stronger I can smell you.
"l don't smell bad, do I?" l ask nervously, trying to think back if l put deodorant on today. I laughs loudly.
"The complete opposite, Davyna. You smell intoxicating. Like a sweet candy I want to eat.
"Good" Getting bold, I run my hands through his hair, and lean down for another kiss, and I hear a slight growl come from his throat. He lays me down like he did with our first kiss, and hovers over me. He nods.
"But we don't mind. You'll let go when you're ready. We just like to tease you and see that blush come to your face." As if on cue, that blush comes to my cheeks as Caleb traces a finger down my breasts and I shiver.
"Just like that." He says softly and kisses me again as I run my hands down his broad chest. l can't help but giggle and he backs off of me and I sit up.
"You and Vincent are leaving shortly, we should get back.'
"Okay." I respond and watch as Caleb puts his tank back on and we head back to the compound. "Vincent mind-linked me. He grabbed your bags and is waiting for you out front with the car."
"will you walk me?"
"I'll do even better." He picks me up bridal style and I snuggle into his chest as he walks through the back doors, through the main lobby, and out the front doors. I peek up and see Vincent standing by the car, blond hair blowing in the slight wind. He catches my gaze and smiles lovingly.
We approach him, and Caleb puts me down.
"One mate, here on time" Caleb says jokingly and Vincent chuckles.
"You ready to go? We can leave whenever." I nod and turn to Caleb.
"Thank you for earlier. I'll miss you."
"Ill miss you too, Davyna."
"'ll see you in a week"
"It's a date." He flashes a boyish grin and I giggle and kiss him.
Vincent then opens the passenger door for me, and I walk around and
climb into the car.
"You are stunning." He says as he brushes some hair out my face, and on the grass.
"Hey!" I say loudly and then giggle as Kaius licks in that clearing where Maria had my father. I frown slightly.
"You think you'll have sex with her?"
