Chapter 147
Darius’ POV
She flipped me off and walked out of the room and I ran my hands through my hands. Tina just ruined everything and she needs to know that. I got up from the sofa and went into the kitchen,
“Where is Tina?”
“Pool room, why?”
I didn’t reply, I just walked off towards the pool room and when I got there she was just coming out of the pool and if didn’t meet Rakari, I probably would’ve drooled over her body but now, she’s nothing compared to her,
“So, you decided to come back to me?”
My eyes went red and I was grabbing her neck against the wall in a flash,
“You cost me my mate” I growled,
“I didn’t know she was your mate” She managed to choke out,
“Liar! You knew and now she hates me even more!!”
"I didn't-"
"Shut up!!"
She tried to loosen my grip on her neck but with the strength “Darius! Put her down!” My dad shouted,
“I don’t take orders from you!!”
I kept my grip on her neck and I was so close to crushing her windpipe, I was just so angry right now,
“Darius, drop her”
Her voice made me loosen my grip and Tina dropped to the ground choking and gasping for air and I turned to look at Rakari,
“Rakari, I’m sorry”
She shook her head,
“You’re blaming everyone else for me hating you, everyone but yourself”
“I don’t want you to hate me”
“I’ve tried everything else; I’m done with it now”
She turned around to walk away but I wasn’t going to let her walk away again so I ran over to her and trapped her against the wall,
“I’m not going to let you walk away from me”
She looked up at me,
“That’s all you’ve been doing, you’ve made me walk away from you”
“I don’t want to be betrayed”
“I don’t know who betrayed you in the past or what they did but I hate you even more for thinking that I would betray you, just move from me”
“No”
Her eyes changed to a faint red, a sign that she was now getting angry,
“Darius, move away from me! I’m not going to try and get through to you anymore!”
“I’m not moving”
I could see that she was about to punch me so I grabbed her wrists, I didn’t want anymore physical pain,
“Stop trying to hit me Rakari”
“Then get the fuck off me”
I leaned down closer so that I could feel her lips brush against mine,
“Can I kiss you?”
She didn’t say anything so I took that as a yes. I leaned forward a bit more so that my lips were pressed against hers and I was waiting for her to stop me but she never did so I decided to go a bit further. I bit her bottom lip and she hesitantly let me in so I slowly let my tongue meet hers and seeing as she didn’t pull away, I continued. I let go of her wrists and they made their way into my hair and I moaned at the contact and that seemed to turn her on even more because she grabbed my shirt and pulled me even closer, something I didn’t think was possible.
I pulled away from her and she opened her eyes slowly to reveal that they were now pitch black i leant my forehead against hers and she closed her eyes, probably so that they went back to their normal colour. When she opened them again, they were back to normal,
“You’re my mate; I can’t help but love you”
“Then why don’t you?”
I sighed and leaned back,
“It’s complicated, let’s just say that I don’t trust easily and you have a boyfriend”
“I don’t do long distance relationships, he’s not my boyfriend”
“You said you loved him on the phone”
“You heard that?” I nodded,
“I couldn’t not say it, I still love him but I’ve found my mate”
“I can’t love you like you want me to”
“Then don’t love me at all, it saves the heartbreak”
She pushed me away from her and walked back into the house and I ran my hands through my hair. This is Lucie fault! It’s her fault that I can’t trust and it’s her fault that I can’t love Rakari as much as I would like to!
“Lucie!!!”
Yes, she still lives in the pack house, my dad wouldn’t let me banish her from the pack but I wish I did now, at least then I wouldn’t have to pass her.
Lucie walked into the pool room and I looked at her with such hatred,
“Yes alpha?”
“Go to my study, now!”
She nodded and walked off to my office and I stormed behind her. She walked into my study and sat down and I angrily walked over to my chair and took a seat,
“Have I done something wrong alpha?”
I laughed humourlessly,
“No no, I have”
She looked at me confused to I continued,
“I should have banished you from the pack when I had the chance!”
“I’m sorry for what I did but that was last year”
“Last year, 10 years ago, it doesn’t matter how long ago it was! I trusted you with everything I had and you betrayed me!”
“I was stupid to do what I did”
“Yes you were but you know what? I’m going to do what I should’ve done last year”
She shook her head,
“Alpha please!”
“I hereby banish you from the shadow valley pack, you are no longer allowed on this territory and if I see you even once on my land, I won’t hesitate to kill you. Go and pack your stuff and leave my sight”
“Darius please, my life is here!”
“You should’ve thought about that when you did what you did”
“Get out of my study, leave the pack house and never come back! Have I made myself clear?!”
She nodded her tear stained face and got up to leave my study and I felt a sense of relief when she left,
“Darius?”
I looked up to see my dad in the doorway,
“Yes dad?”
“Why was Lucie crying?”
“I banished her from the pack”
He looked at me shocked,
“Why would you do that?”
“I realised that what she did was inexcusable and the fact that she is living in my pack house makes matters worse, so I banished her, at least now I’m free to love Rakari without Lucie affecting me”
“It’s not Lucie’s fault that you don’t want to love Rakari”
I could feel the anger come back,
“You may be my father but as alpha I have the power to banish you as well if you take her side and don’t think I won’t”
He looked at me with slight fear in his eyes, only because he knows I’m serious,
“I wasn’t taking her side son, I was just saying”
“Well don’t, she’s banished, end of story, can you please bring Rakari to me?”
He nodded and walked out of my study to go and get Rakari and no more than 5 minutes later she was standing in the doorway,
“What now Darius? Haven’t you hurt me enough today?”
I flinched at the truth in her voice and gestured for her to take a seat and surprisingly she did. She sat down in the chair,
“I’m sorry for my behaviour Rakari”
She shook her head,
“That’s not going to cut it”
“What if I tell you that I’m willing to take things slow?”
“Elaborate”
I sighed,
“It’s a long story but this girl Lucie hurt me in more ways than one which is why I don’t want to love you in case you do the same but I banished her from the pack just now so at least now she won’t be anywhere on my territory”
“What’s that got to do with me?”
I reached over the table and took her hand in mine,
“I want to accept you as my mate”
“Is that so?”
I nodded,
“I’m sorry for how I acted but now I’m willing to make it up to you”
She smirked,
“Really?” I nodded,
“Well, you can start"
“Are you serious?”
“Unless you want me to go back to Marcus, I could always call him-“
I cut her off angrily,
“No! You are mine only!”
“Then do what I said”
As my mate and alpha female, I had no choice but to follow her order so I walked over to her and got down on my knees in front of her,
“Rakari, I am really sorry for what I did and I regret it so much, can you please forgive me?”
“Kind of, you rejected me and that’s not something that will go away easily but I’ll give you a chance to prove yourself”
I stood up,
“What do you mean?”
“I mean that I accept your apology but until you show that you truly accept me as your mate, we should keep our distance”
“But how am I supposed to show you if I can’t talk to you?”
She stood up,
“Figure it out alpha”
She patted my cheek before walking out of my study and I slumped into the chair and ran my hands through my hair. The ceremony is tonight and I know that I have to prove it to her then and it needs to be good.y begging my forgiveness
”I’lll do anything, please!”
