Chapter 272

Davyna's POV

Marcella and l are hanging downstairs at Bloodhaven having finished our practice. My phone rings and I look at it. It's Caleb and l quickly answer.

"Can I come back yet?" He laughs on the other end of the line.

"Hi to you too, baby. We're almost finished, just one more night away from us okay? You have anything else you have to do?"

A growl reverberates from my chest.

"Another night away? Are you kidding me?" I shake my head.

"And to answer your question, no Marcella and I are done for the day."

"I know baby. We want this to be special for you." I roll my eyes. "Yeah, yeah. you've told me. I miss you both."

"We miss you too, baby. I'll call as soon as you can come back, okay?"

"Okay. I love you, tell Vincent I love him too please."

"You got it. Love you too." He hangs up and I slump my shoulders as Marcella comes up to me.

"Still not ready?" She asks and I nod.

"This sucks.. l just want to be with them."

"I know, but just let them surprise you." She puts her hand on my shoulder and I look at her with a sad expression.

"I will, l just hate being away from them too long"

"Just head back to Sage's and get into a good book. You'll be back with them before you know it." I smile, appreciative of her trying to lift my spirits.

"I'll do just that. Thank you.!"

"Not a problem. I'll see you tomorrow night for work, okay?"

"You got it!" I reply. I am actually really excited to get back to work. Although for the next few days it is strictly practice and other preparations for the ball. The club is only open for tonight and then closed the rest of the week until the night after the ball. But it's something, and I'll be happy to get busy again. I smile and wave at Marcella as I head outside, and wait for my car to take me back.

Once l get back to the Hollow, I stop in my tracks as I enter the main hallway. I feel drawn to go through the back doors and back outside, but I push past the urge, wanting to just head upstairs and relax I shake my head, pulling myself out of the trance and I head back up to Sage's. I knock and then swipe my wrist and walk in. Sage comes out from the hallway.

"There you are. How was practice with Marcella? l'm getting ready to work tonight."

"It was good, I'm pretty beat though. Care if I crash on your bed for a bit? I was just going to read a little until I fall asleep"

"Sounds good to me, need anything on my way back?" I shake my head as I grab my book of her coffee table.

"No I'm okay." She smiles at me.

"Okay. I'I be heading out shortly. Just text me if you think of anything."

"You got it. Enjoy your shift" I walk past her and grab a bottle of blood from her fridge. It's actually Caleb and Vincent's blood. They decided to have some of their blood bottled for me since I cant drink the other stuff. I prefer from the vein, but this helps. I head back into Sage's room, laying down on top of her comforter. I open my book a flight.

"Davyna." I hear my name and I jolt awake. Placing my book down on the bed, I sit up and look around. There is no one in the room. I call out for Sage, thinking maybe she called out for me from the other room.

"Sage?" No reply.

I check my watch. It's 1pm I must have fell asleep almost immediately, since she would currently be at work. I scoot off the bed and head into the living room. It's dark, and clearly no one is here.

Why the fuck did I hear my name? My head begins to throb, and I realize. Someone was mind linking me! I close my eyes and try to let it in. I gasp as i hear a unfamiliar voice 'Davyna. Come meet me, Outside.'

The connection breaks and I stand there, simply dazed. Who is this person that is communicating with me? I don't recognize the voice, but feels familiar.

"Fuck it." I say to myself as I grab a sweater and make my way down the hall and into the elevator. As soon as I emerge, that pull from earlier hits me again. I feel more strain enter my body and it becomes harder for me to resist. I walk slowly towards the back exit. I walk out the doors, trying to take in the entirety of my surroundings, being especially wary. I don't know who this is, and I need to be prepared.

I make my way down close to the tree line and suddenly l'm struck with in my head. I gasp as I drop to my knees, holding my head.

It feels like my brain is shattering apart, wave after wave and it's like sharp needles piercing my skin, burrowing deeper until it reaches the inner centre of my brain.

I cry out and then I hear a voice behind me.

"Davyna, what are you doing out here?" Marcella comes and takes ahold of my shoulders as my body jerks trying to compensate for the pain.

"Something's wrong." I manage to choke out. She squeezes me and talks quieter. l get Caleb and Vincent. Hold on." I hear her turn and she speaks again.

"Sage, go get Caleb and Vincent, I'm too tired to mind-link. Tell them we're out here and Davyna's in pain." I hear footsteps run off and l can only assume that Sage took off running to go get my mates.

I cry out again as a larger wave hits me and it radiates down my spine. I roll onto my side and bring my knees up to my chest. Marcella tries to soothe me by rubbing my arms and back, whispering comforting words in my ear, but nothing works.

I scream as I feel my bones shift and crack. What? Am I shifting? It shouldn't be this painful, should it? No. I've shifted multiple times now and it's been effortless. Why does it hurt so much? Another scream rips out from my lips as more bones shift.

"They're coming, Davyna. Just hold on." I try to get to my knees, and although it's difficult, I manage.

"Davyna, I don't think you should be moving." Marcella warns but I don't listen.

Through the pain, I feel an immense power building up inside me, and I just have a feeling it won't be good if I'm laying on the ground when it breaks free.

I stagger as I stand, but my bones stopped shifting. The pain has moved back to my head now, and it blinds my vision as it increases in intensity. Everything is a blur and my memory falters, coming in and out with each shockwave of pain.

"Make it STOP!" I scream and I feel someone behind me. Without even registering. I whip around and strike the figure in the chest, sending them flying back. The figure flips backwards and lands on her feet as I notice more bodies come into view. I growl loudly, a waning to any who would approach me.

"Davyna.." I hear Caleb mention my name softly.

"Try to reign it in, baby."

"I don't think she can Caleb!" Vincent says

I stare at them, recognizing them, but the pain in my head makes everything fuzzy. I feel the power radiating out and it just snaps. I collapse to my knees again as the final shock of pain subsides.

I look up, my vision clearing and I see Vincent, Caleb, and two other women all standing together and staring at me in awe. I lock eyes with the one I hit. and I smirk as I stand to my full height. I don't know who this woman is, but I suddenly feel threatened. I sniff the air. One is a vampire, the other a human.

"Get away from my mates." I say sternly, only focused on the two,

"Love, they're not a threat. You know them." Vincent says softly.

"l don't know them. Now get the hell away from my mates. I won't ask again." I narrow my eyes and change my stance.

"She's going to attack. Marcella, Sage. Go." Caleb says as he crouches slightly, putting them behind him.

"Vincent, her eyes."

"I see them. It seems she wasn't a full hybrid. She still had another shift to go. She seems to have the partial amnesia she had when l awakened her vampire.

"We don't want to hurt you, baby. Just let them go." Caleb says softly. What the hell is with them talking to me like this? I'm not some baby that is upset, I want them away! How hard is that to understand? Guess I'll have to do it myself.

"Not a chance in hell." I reply curtly, and then my muscles coil and I leap into action.

Vincent's POV

Davyna's silver eyes lock onto Marcella as she makes her first move. I leap and collide with her midair and we come back down. hitting the around hard, her partially on top of me. I try to grasp her to hold her but she's too fast. She scrambles to her feet and eyes me with an angry expression and growls, the sound coming deep from her chest.

"Why are you stopping me!?" She shrieks. Caleb takes a stance a few feet away from me, both of us now blocking her path. I sense Marcella and Sage enter the building and I take a deep breath. That's one less thing to worry about.

"Davyna. They're not a threat. Listen to us. You changed again. Think," I see her shift her stance again, and she takes off towards Caleb, growling as he dodges her initial attack, but then she turns just as quickly and lands a kick right to his stomach, pushing him back with great force closer to me.

"She's strong." Caleb states and I nod.

"Indeed. But she's out of control. There is no pattern to her movements. She's attacking radically" I mind-link him quickly.

V- You charge at her, she will leap to dodge you and I'I be there to grab her.

C- Then I can recover and help hold her Gotta.

Caleb does as I suggested, and like I predicted, Davyna leaps into the air. I leap towards her and grab her wrist and twist, pulling her with me by using the momentum from my jump. We hit the ground again, but she is under me this time. I pin her arms down as I straddle her and Caleb comes up and restrains her legs. She growls and thrashes wildly, and seeing her not settling down worries me. Her eyes continue to almost glow like the moon that is now over top of us.

Instinctively, Instinctively, I strike and bite her neck, perfectly on my mark. She growls loudly at first, but then her movements slow, and then I hear her speak, normally. Gone is the shrieking, threatening tone of her voice.

"Why are you holding me down?" She questions.

"Are you in control now? If we let you go, you're fine?" She nods. Her eyes are still glowing, but she's no longer struggling, and looking at us, her face clearly confused with the current situation.

I nod to Caleb and we release her. We all stand and she looks around.

"How did I get out here?" Caleb clears his throat.

"We don't know. Marcella said her and Sage found you out here, screaming in pain. Sage came to get us and then you changed again. You had your sights set on hurting Marcella and Sage."

She gasps and places her hand over her mouth.

"No, love. We stopped you before you could. It seems as though you had another transformation. We thought you were a hybrid before, but this seals it. Your eyes are silver and you had immense power and strength Caleb and I could only stop you because you weren't attacking strategically."

Here yes start to water.

"What the hell is wrong with me?"

"You need to be trained." A voice replies, answering her question. Caleb and I lower our stances as we see a figure approaching us. We both growl in warning. The voice speaks again."l am not here to hurt her or you, please refrain from growling at me." I lessen my stance and walk close to Davyna and Caleb does the same, each of us flanking her sides as the figure gets closer, now only a couple feet away. He's dressed in casual dark wash jeans and a white dress shirt, slightly undone. His black hair blows in thin the slight wind, and his eyes - are identical to Davyna's. Dark, stormy grey, and then they flash a mix of white and silver Hybrid.

I hear Davyna's heart beat frantically as she gasps.

"You...it was you I saw back at Midnight Moon."

"That is correct. It was me who you sensed that day and today. I'm here to help you, dear sister." I can't keep the shock from forming on my face. Sister??
