Chapter 156
Rakari's POV
"Rakari?"
I turned to face Chris,
"Yeah?"
"What are you doing now? I mean do you wanna do something?"
"Yeah sure, what do you have in mind?"
"Well, where do you wanna go?"
"How about we walk and decide"
He smiled,
"That could work"
I smiled and linked my arm through his and as we started walking down the corridor, I could see a crowd forming around one thing and me being the curious person I am, decided to check it out.
I dragged Chris through the crowd and when we emerged through the other side, I gasped,
"Woah"
I shook my head slightly,
"He just won't give up"
I'm currently looking at a spray painted message on the walls; one that I knew was directed at me. I knew this because it said:
'Rakari, please forgive me'
I rolled my eyes and dragged Chris away from the message,
"I'm guessing that you don't forgive him yet?"
I shook my head,
"Until I get a worthy apology, I'm not going to forgive him"
He nodded and we continued walking towards the front of the main building until we came across another message when"
"He's really trying Rakari"
"I know Chris but he really hurt me"
He didn't reply and we once again carried on walking out of school. We walked out of the main building to get another shock. In front of me was Darius on one knee holding another bunch of roses, in front of a Kia Sportage,
"I'm not marrying you Darius!"
"I'm not asking you to, just hear me out!"
I sighed and turned to face Chris,
"Do you think I should hear him out?"
He shrugged,
"What's your mind saying?"
"To walk away"
"And your heart?"
"To hear him out"
"There you go then, listen to your heart, not your mind"
I smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek,
"Thank you"
"Anytime, I'll call you later to get the details"
"You're such a girl"
"Love you too girlfriend!"
I laughed and waved to him as he walked away to his car and I turned to face Darius.
I walked up to him,
He shook his head,
"Not until I have you back"
I sighed,
"Roses and cars are not going to get me to forgive you Darius, you said something to me that cut through me deeply"
He stood up and put the roses on the hood of the car before turning back to face me,
"I know and I didn't mean to say it, I was just angry"
"It doesn't matter if you were fuming; accusing me of sleeping with Chris hurt me, bad"
I didn't realise how emotional this was because all of a sudden I started crying,
"Don't cry, please don't cry"
"You make me cry Darius; you're the one that's making me cry! And I've had enough of it!"
He pulled me in for a hug but I pushed him away from me,
"No! Get away from me!"
"Rakari please"
"We're supposed to be mates and you accuse me of sleeping with someone else?"
"I didn't say that"
"You meant it! It was implied! You can't take back what you said to me!"
"I'm sorry!"
"Why did you say that to me?"
He ran his hand through his hair,
"I was confused and I thought that you were betraying me and I didn't want to be betrayed twice so I said the first thing that came into my head, I wasn't thinking straight"
"So you thought that a car and roses would fix everything? Do you really think I'm that materialistic? I guess you really do think so little of me"
I was about to walk away when he shocked me with his next words,
"I love you!!"
I turned to look at him to see that he had a few tears in his eyes,
"You what?"
"I love you; please don't leave me, please"
He looked so vulnerable but before I could forgive him, I had a few things that I needed to clear up,
"If you truly loved me, you wouldn't have said what you said"
"I know and I regret what I said, I really do, I don't know what else I'm supposed to do to make you forgive me, I'll do anything"
"Anything to make you forgive me"
I walked up to him and looked into his eyes,
"Say it again"
He leaned his forehead against mine,
"I love you"
I smiled,
"I love you too"
He smiled and wiped the tears away from my eyes,
"I won't hurt you again, I pro-"
I cut him off,
"Don't make promises you can't keep"
"I'll keep this one though"
I shook my head,
"You won't, I know you and I know that you won't be able to keep that promise, now stop arguing and kiss me"
He smiled and leaned down to kiss me and it was filled with so much emotion and so much passion but unfortunately, we got cut short because of Darius' phone ringing.
He pulled away from me and gave me a sheepish smile before answering the phone,
"Hello?"
"Yes"...
"Why is he there?"
"I don't care what he wants, why is he on my territory?!" "Make him leave!"
"Okay fine! We're on our way back, make sure to keep him in your sights, understand me?" "Good"
He angrily hung up the phone and I noticed that his eyes had turned red so I placed a hand on his cheek,
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, let's just get in the car"
"I'm not getting in the car with you if you're gonna be like this"
"Just get in the fucking car Rakari!"
I flinched back and shook my head,
"Good thing you didn't make that promise huh?"
That snapped him out of it because his eyes went back to their normal colour,
"I'm sorry"
"Stop saying that! It's so fucking annoying! You say it too many times and it seems to mean nothing to you!"
"Maybe you just don't appreciate when I say it!!"
My eyes went red and I pinned him against the car. It's a good thing everyone left school ages ago because this would look pretty suspicious to a human,"
"Don't you ever raise your voice to me. I'm a patient person but if you raise your voice to me again, you'll regret it"
I let him go and took a step back,
"It seems like whenever I forgive you, you always find a way to mess it up again"
He sighed,
"I know, I didn't mean to raise my voice at you"
"Take it out on someone else, not on the person you love and don't you dare apologise if it means nothing"
He walked forward and grabbed my waist,
"I'm sorry, I really am"
I gave him a light kiss,
"Tell me what happened"
He sighed,
"Marcus is at the pack house"
I looked at him shocked,
"My ex boyfriend Marcus?"
He nodded,
"Yes, your ex boyfriend, the one that still loves you, the one that wasn't told that you found your mate"
"Shit"
"Exactly, now you understand why I'm so angry, what if you realise that you still love him?"
"That's what you're worried about?"
He rubbed the back of his neck, "Yeah, I mean you've known him your whole life and you love him a lot-"
"Correction, I loved him a lot, past tense. I'm not going to lie and say that there aren't still a few lost feelings between us but I don't love him like I did before"
"But he was your first love, I can't compete with that"
He looked away from me but I just moved his face back to looking at mine,
"He may have been my first love but you're the one that I love now and he won't change my mind or my heart, I promise"
He smiled and gave me a light kiss,
"I'll still be keeping an eye on him though"
"Yes alpha"
He laughed and opened the car door for me to get in and I gratefully got in the car while he ran over to the other side. He got in the car and handed me the roses,
"For you"
I smiled and took the roses from his hand,
"How did you even know I liked roses?"
"Your dad"
"You really went through a lot of trouble didn't you?"
He drove out of the car park, "I had to, I couldn't lose you Kari, you're my everything"
I smiled,
"Glad to know"
He smiled and just continued driving back to the pack house.
