Chapter 193
Darius' POV
She looked at me confused but nodded anyway and she followed me into the house and into my study where I closed the door and locked it,
“Me and my wolf are not happy right now”
“And why is that?”
“You undermined me as an alpha just then, I was trying to explain to her why I didn’t give her numbers and you hit me across the head like a dog that had disobeyed it’s owner”
“You disrespected your own mother, you think I was going to stand by and let you talk to her like that?”
“I was in alpha mode Rakari! You can’t just hit me when I’m in alpha mode! Did you think me and my wolf would be overjoyed at the fact that you practically shamed us in front of nearly the whole pack?!”
She narrowed her eyes at me, “Don’t you dare raise your voice to me Darius, I told you once before that if you ever raised your voice to me again, you’d regret it, try and talk to me in that tone of voice again and see what happens”
I sighed and ran my hands through my hair before leaning back against the door,
“I’m sorry but you can’t do that Rakari, do you know how that made me look?”
She crossed her arms,
“Weak. I know exactly how it made you look because you make me look like that a lot but I never talk to you like that and do you want to know why?”
I stayed silent so she continued,
“Because you’re my mate and you make mistakes just like everyone else, I talk to you like an equal not your fucking superior which is more than what I can say about you”
My gaze softened and I moved away from the door so that I could walk over to her and I wrapped my arms around her waist and she leant her head on my chest,
“I’m sorry, I guess I wasn’t thinking straight, my wolf was just angry and I was a bit angry and I didn’t actually mean what I said, I was just- I was” I let out a breath before continuing,
“I wasn’t taking into account your feelings and I feel like a horrible" She shook her head against my chest,
“You’re not a horrible mate, you’re the best mate any girl could ask for but you let your anger get the best of you”
“I know and I’m sorry, I really sorry"
She looked up at me and smiled before she gave me a peck on the lips,
“I forgive you and I’m sorry as well for making you feel like that, I just didn’t like the way you were speaking to your mother, she’s done a lot for you"
I nodded,
“I know and I swear I’ll make it up to her and you”
“Thank you”
I smiled and kissed the top of her head only to be cut out of the moment by Charlie bursting into the room,
“Charlie! You know how I feel about people barging into my study without permission!”
“I’m sorry Darius but we have a problem, a very big problem”
I looked at him confused,
“How big?”
“Let’s just say alpha Robert is not happy with Sharise’s silence and there is now a massive uproar between both his pack and ours”
“Shit!”
I ran out of the room with both Rakari and Charlie hot on my heels and when I walked into the garden, I was not impressed with what I saw,
“What is the meaning of this?!”
Everyone stopped arguing and turned to face me and alpha Robert walked up to me,
“Alpha Darius, the way your pack members are disrespecting mine is not what I expect from an alpha that has such good control over his pack”
I stood up straight,
“Well alpha Robert, my pack members do not just cause uproar for no reason, something or someone must’ve provoked them”
He wiped down his blazer and straightened his tie befor“
I was merely trying to introduce myself to your pack and vice versa, it is not my fault that one of your pack members had the audacity to not greet me back”
“And which one would that be?”
He merely turned around and looked in the direction of Sharise and I was about to speak up when Rakari beat me to it,
“So, you’re telling me, that you decided to cause an argument because one of the pack members didn’t greet you in the way you see fit? Are you having a laugh?”
He turned to face Rakari and narrowed his eyes at her,
“And you have what right to speak to me in that manner?”
“The right of an alpha female”
“Well, then as an alpha female, have control over your pack”
Sakari stepped forward,
“And you should learn some manners, there is obviously a reason why she didn’t greet you, think before you assume alpha Robert”
“Think before you speak”
He stepped closer to Rakari and I walked forward and stood next to her, daring him to take one more step towards her,
“Don’t you dare come any closer to my mate, take a step back”
He stood still so I decided to remind him,
“You are on my territory now so take a step back away from my mate!!”
Everyone flinched at my voice and Robert took a step back along with the rest of his pack,
“Now, before you jump to conclusions, it would be in your best interests to find out the story of why she didn’t actually greet you, she has been through a lot in the past few weeks, including being kidnapped and locked up for a long period of time so excuse me if she doesn’t seem like she is an out-going girl that bows down to your every whim, even if you are not her alpha!!”
He looked at me with a blank face but I could see a bit of shock in his eyes,
“I apologise alpha Darius, I should not have jumped to conclusions.
“I apologise alpha Darius, I should not have jumped to conclusions so quick”
“It is not me you should be apologising to”
He nodded and walked over to Sharise and apologised before doing the same thing to the rest of my pack members to which they returned the favour and he turned back to face me,
“I am truly sorry alpha, it was wrong of me to do what I did”
I nodded,
“It is fine” I turned to face everyone else,
“This isn’t exactly how I wanted this party to start but I do not expect it to end how it started, I have a lot of people coming to this party and when they come, this is not what I want them to walk into, hostility, arguments, judgments, assumptions, this is not the pack I know and alpha Robert, this is not the pack you practically raised! I am actually very disappointed and ashamed at how both packs have acted towards each other, you should know better! I will not be letting this go lightly and I can assure you, every single person that was involved from my pack will be spoken to sooner or later… I may be young but I am still your alpha and you will treat me as such! Manners are everything and clearly, you have none!!”
