Chapter 261

Davyna's POV

I hold onto Caleb's hand tightly as we enter the large packhouse. I sigh as we enter into a room on the left side of the entranceway.

"This is where the pack members can come for meals made by the kitchen staff-who also are all pack members. My grandmother, Grand Luna Amelia oversees everything here." look around the room and see

scattered pack members sitting around and eating at the multiple tables that fill the room. There is a large banquet table alongside the large front wall across from us and the doorway that is filled with all sorts of food. Another large table is at the head of the room, and I can only guess that is where Caleb and I would sit. It just screams hierarchy.

I hear and see the large kitchen doors beside the banquet table open and and an elderly woman enters, walking with pride as she wipes her hands on a towel that is tied into her apron.

"Caleb, is this her?" I hear her ask excitedly grandmother.

"This is Davyna. My mate." I hear the beaming pride in his statement and it makes me blush slightly as Caleb rests his hand on the small of my back. Amelia grasps my hands in hers. Her hands are soft, and a scent of freshly baked bread comes off of her as she looks me over.

"I am Caleb's grandmother, Amelia. I am so pleased to meet you,

Davyna. My goodness you are a beauty." She cups my face with one

hand.

"The pleasure is mine, Grand Luna." I use her official title, as I place my hand over hers on my face and she chuckles.

"l appreciate the respect in addressing me, but please. You are family. Call me Amelia." I smile.

"Of course."

"Come with me, both of you. She pulls me with her as we walk back

into the kitchen area, the definite source of that wonderful smell. She hands me a package of which Caleb takes from my hands as he comes up behind me.

"Make sure to take that back to your house with you Caleb. I made some goodies for you both to have while you're here." Caleb smells the basket.

"Thank you, grandmother. I'm sure we will enjoy everything in here." She turns to face me again.

"If this one"- she points at Caleb- "is ever too busy and you want some company, you are welcome to come hang out with me. I could use help some days, if you're up for it."

"I would love to help out, Amelia." I smile as she grasps my hands again.

"l look forward to it. I'll let you get back to the tour and meeting the rest of the pack. Oh.. you both will be joining us here for dinner right?" Caleb chimes in.

"Yes, grandmother. We will be here."

"6pm. Sharp. Don't be late, grandson." Caleb leans down as she hugs

him and kisses his cheek.

"We won't be late, promise." Amelia nods at him and heads back to her station as Caleb and I leave, basket of goodies in hand. We continue down the main hallway, closed doors lining most of the walls. The hallway breaks off left and right and Caleb points down each as he tells me what rooms they are.

"Left side is a rest area with multiple rooms and bunks for anyone who needs it. Then the right side leads to the pack bathrooms and storage. Upstairs mainly consists of offices and meeting rooms. My father's office, the Beta's and I have a secondary small office up there as well" jump as I hear another voice, deep and booming.

"Caleb seems so happy being home, in his element. I'm seeing a more

relaxed, softer side of him and it is so refreshing. I'm happy this is only the beginning of my stay here. I smile as Caleb introduces me.

"Davyna, this is Michael. He is my father's Beta, and second-in-command here at Midnight Moon. Michael meet Davyna, my mate." Michael closes some of the distance between us as he holds out his hand.

"Hi, nice to meet you." I say as I shake his hand and he pulls me in for a hug. Surprised. I stumble back a bit as he releases me. "She's stunning, Caleb. Strong. and from what I've heard from your mother and father, she's quite the charmer."

"l know." There he goes again. I blush.

"Stop it." I say quietly.

"Better get used to the compliments here, Davyna. The entire pack has been waiting so long for this guy to find you, and we are all proud that you're finally here,"

"l appreciate the kindness, I'm just not used to it. Thank you for the warm welcome."

"See you at dinner, Michael" Caleb says as he grasps my hand again.

"See you." Michael waves as he leaves us.

"See? I told you, nothing to worry about baby." Caleb pulls me into him and kisses me softly.

"Let's go up to my office here. We can just hang out

until dinner."

"Okay." I follow Caleb upstairs and into one of the smaller rooms

upstairs. There is a desk, a couple muted brown couches and some filing cabinets in here. A very plain room with beige walls and hardwood flooring, but it's still nice.

Caleb closes the door behind me and as I'm looking around he pulls me up from behind and sits on the couch, planting me on top of him,

straddling him while he's sitting. I look over, and see the basket of Amelia's goodies on the floor.

"Caleb.." He laughs as he runs his hands up my back and grasps the

back of my neck.

"I just wanted you alone." He pulls me down as kisses me again, harder then he did downstairs. I moan as he continues to feel me up. I turn my hands through and grasp his hair lightly, taking care not to mess it up too much. A low Growl escapes him as he flips me onto my back on the couch and hovers over me. I place my hands on his chest as he continues to ravage me with kisses, pressing himself into me and feel his clear arousal.

"You plan to awaken my wolf right here?" l joke as he laughs with me and we sit up, composing ourselves. I snuggle into him as he kisses the top of my head,

"Oh how I'd love to. but if you shift. this whole room would be destroyed.!"

"What do you think my wolf will look like?" I ask him as we continue to snuggle. It's a question that has been on my mind ever since Vincent said I might have Alpha blood. I hope she's beautiful. Caleb responds to me as he plays with my hair.

"I don't know, but what I do know is that you will be a magnificent wolf. I for one, cannot wait to see you shift for the first time. It's liberating"

"will it hurt?" He sighs.

"The first shift can be a bit painful. but it becomes painless eventually as it becomes second nature. It gets easier the more you shift and your body gets used to the change. I'll be there

with you the whole time. I've even made sure that when it happens we won't be interrupted!"

"That eases me a little bit. I'm glad you've planned for it. I have no idea what to expect. Oh, and l also wanted to ask... what does the pack know about me?" I need to know what I'm walking into. I know Caleb has my back, but old habits die hard I guess.

"They know only what you've told me, and nothing of your hybridism.

To them, you're just a late shifting wolf" I sigh.

"That's reassuring I didn't want to have to do a lot of explaining

know tried to make to them, you're just a late shifting wolf" I sigh.

"That's reassuring. didn't want to have to do a lot of explaining

"I know. I tried to make it so this visit was as easy on you as possible, baby. I just want you to enjoy yourself here, with me." l entwined my fingers with his and squeeze.
