Chapter 168
Rakari's POV
He ran out of the class and I felt so guilty. I didn't mean to flinch away from him, it just happened and he looked so hurt. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turned around to see Mhakir,
"I think it's best if we went home"
"Its only first lesson"
"I'm sure they'll understand"
I nodded and gave a smile towards Chris before following Mhakir out of class and out of the building to go to his car and we just drove home in pure silence.
*20 minutes later*
I walked into the house and walked straight upstairs to Darius' room ignoring all the stares of curiosity I got on the way up. I walked into his room and froze at what I saw next... Marcus,
"Well, hello Rakari"
'Darius, help'
'Rakari, what's wrong?'
'marcus is at the pack house'
'I'm on my way'
I felt a hand grab my face, "It's rude to ignore people when they're talking to you Rakari, you of all people should know that"
I pushed him away from me but he just grabbed my wrists and pulled me closer to him,
"Don't play with me Rakari, this isn't a game, I will hurt you if you don't co-operate and don't even think about shifting"
He let go of my wrists and took something out of his pocket and when he showed me what it was, I took a step back in fear,
"Are you going to play nice?"
I nodded and continued to eye the knife that he had in his hands,
"Good because lover boy should be here right about now"
He pulled me towards him and twisted me around so that I was facing the door and sure enough, 2 seconds later Darius came
He pressed the blade against my neck and I could feel the tears run down my face,
"Just let her go"
Marcus laughed,
"So you can have her? If I can't have her, you can't either"
As quick as a flash he plunged the knife into my stomach,
"No!!"
He done it 3 more times and I coughed up blood and dropped to the ground and when i looked, he was no longer there,
"No Rakari please, this is all my fault, I'm so sorry"
He moved a strand of hair from my face and I could properly see that he was crying,
"Don't leave me Rakari, please don't leave me"
The pack doctor came running into the room,
"We need to take her to the medical room now!"
Darius lifted me up and I cried out in pain,
"I'm sorry baby" He placed a kiss on my nose,
"I'm so sorry"
All of a sudden I felt sudden tiredness wash over me and I felt my eyelids close,
"Don't go to sleep Rakari, stay awake for me"
I wanted to stay awake but I was so tired! I felt my eyelids close again,
"Please baby, don't go to sleep"
I mouthed to him,
'I love you' before I slipped into darkness.
Back to Darius' POV
Her eyes shut and I picked up my pace. Since we're wolves we couldn't go to a regular hospital so we had a small one put in the pack house. I got to the medical room and one of the nurses took Rakari from me,
"I'm sorry alpha but you can't go any further"
"She is my mate!!"
"I understand that but you need to stay here, that's the way it goes"
"No!!"
I was about to push him out of the way when I got held back,
"Let go of me!!"
"We're sorry Darius but we have to disobey your order"
I tried to get out of their grasp but they just held onto me tighter,
"I need to be with Rakari! Just let me go!!"
"Darius"
I looked to my right to see my mum and I ran out of Rhylie and Charlie's grip and ran towards her and she just held me while I crie
"She'll be fine Darius"
"This is all my fault"
*1 hour later*
"Alpha"
I looked up from my lap,
"Yes, how is she?"
"She's stable. We managed to stop the bleeding and she needed stitches but other than that she's fine. Luckily the knife didn't penetrate any important organs, she should be coming round from the sedatives very soon and we should get her to shift so that she can heal properly"
"So can I see her?"
He nodded and I stood up to shake his hand before walking into the room to see Rakari. I walked in and all I could hear was the sound of her heartbeat on the monitor and indicator that she was going to be okay. I walked up to her and took her hand and her heartbeat increased so she obviously knew it was me,
"You really gave me a scare Rakari"
I ran my hands through my hair, "If I never ran out of class, this wouldn't have happened. I know that once you shift again you should heal properly but that won't change the fact that you could've died and I promise you now, Lukas will pay for what he's done... He's practically declared war"
I looked up at Rakari and she groaned so I moved closer and took her hand again and then her eyes fluttered open and i tried my best to smile but it just wouldn't come out.
She placed a hand on my cheek and I closed my eyes at her soft touch,
"Open your eyes"
I opened my eyes and looked at her,
"Stop blaming yourself"
"How did you know?"
"I know what you feel and the main one right now is guilt"
"I'm going to kill him"
"For now can you just come and hold me?"
"I don't want to hurt you"
"Please"
"Are you sure?"
"Darius, I've just been stabbed, I really want to cuddle up to you"

"I wasn't afraid of you"
I looked at her confused so she continued,
"When I flinched away, I wasn't afraid of you, it was just the way everything happened, I could never be scared of you"
"I'm sorry" I moved the covers down a bit and my breathing hitched when I saw her bandages and me being as manly as I am, felt a few tears run down my face,
"Baby, I-it's..." I stood up from the bed and ran my hands over my face,
"This is all my fault"
She shook her head,
"It's not, come here"
She gestured for me to lean down so I leant my forehead against hers. She wiped the tears from my face and gave me a peck on the lips,
"Please don't blame yourself"
"If I never ran out-"
She cut me off by pressing her lips to mine again shortly,
"What's done is done, you can't change what happened baby"
"I know and that's what makes it worse, I never meant for you to get hurt"
"You couldn't have stopped it"
I sighed and sat down next to her,
"I feel like I let you down as a boyfriend and as a mate, I'm supposed to protect you and I didn't"
"Because you couldn't, you didn't know he was going to be there, I didn't even know"
I tucked a strand of hair behind her ear,
"I love you so much Rakari, so much that it actually hurts"
She smiled,
"I love you too and I'm sorry for hurting you"
"When did you hurt me?"
"When i got stabbed"
"I was too busy worrying about you that I hardly felt it but we should really get you to shift"
"Where?"
"Don't worry, we have a room for that"
"Okay but can we just stay like this for now?"
"Anything you want baby"
She leant her head on my chest and I wrapped my arm around her waist.
If Marcus thinks he's going to get away with this, he can think again. If it's a war he wants, it's a war he'll get.
