CAPTIVE OF EVERLASTING LOVE
Before you blame someone, walk a mile in their shoes.
The verdict of the twelve senates had proved that even aliens desire domination without considering the mother earth which they claimed to be protecting.
Vanity; the favorite sin of the devil is not only humans' weakness but the alien's weakness as well. We are all filled with egoism and self-importance.
"We have committed a lot of our resources, lost a lot of our people, and our reputation is also at stake if we lost this war." The senate leader announced as they resumed their meeting the following day.
Horus only bobbed his head and cursed under his breath as the speaking hooray resumed his speech.
"Have you ever considered the ridicule of the Apollonians when they learned about our shameless defeat, which may soon result from your unpatriotic attitude?" The senate leader asked.
"I was trained in the way of truths, and the first of the truth is to always put mother earth first, and it was only followed by the love of our clan." Horus paused, bowed at the twelve senates, then smirked at their trickery grins. "My love for my clan only come after my devotion for mother earth, my pride, ego, and arrogance can't stop my passion for the two truth. Is that not what you always taught us? Aren't we attacking humans because they destruct the earth?"
"Please take it easy and think from our angle as well." The king begged from his seat.
"What did you want of me?"
"We want you to get the scepter destroyed, then negotiate with any deserving human and teach him or her the golden rule. We shall hand over the earth back to them as soon as we are convinced they had learned their lesson." The senate leader answered back.
"For this, you will be promoted as the general in charge of the whole of Africa and you will be paid all the benefits attached. Won't you like to be an ancestor?"
To be an ancestor is what all hoorays wished for, pray for. To be an ancestor means having a name and wealth for the generations to come. Limitless advantages.
"What of Geisha?"
"Geisha committed the crime when the weapon was still banned and thereby punishable by death." The senate leader answered back.
"I have signed his death warrant and his head will leave his shoulders at sunset." The king said with a frown. How he wished he was able to save his friend, unfortunately, Geisha's death is a necessary sacrifice.
"What if I reject this offer?"
"A spaceship will take you back to earth, and we will pass a bounty on your head, for your treason and rejection of duty." The king answered back.
Horus thought for a while at the two choices at his front and both left bile in his mouth. "What if I can get the scepter without using the banned weapon?"
"The result is what matters most, except for the issue of this undestroyed scepter, our clan is suffering lesser casualties and our victory is assured in few moon's time." The king answered back.
"Then I will destroy the scepter."
"No," the king answered back. "We want to see the scepter."
"Yes," one among the senator said. "We want to see how an ordinary scepter could be so powerful and can destroy all our warriors on earth within a twinkle of an eye."
"We heard you have seen it, can you please tell us what it looks like?" The Senate leader begged.
"It is just a scepter and nothing more, except its precious stones around it."
"Bring us the scepter, Horus. And the earth will be yours for a long moment, and of course, the benefits attached." The king keeps begging.
"I will," Horus answered back, bowed again at the king and all the twelve senators. And their infectious smile soon flowed into him and he smiled back.
In truth, the thought of an alien is only known to the alien.
"Thank you." The king let out.
"A spaceship is waiting for you outside," one of the senates said.
"No, Horus had been in the service of the crown for months, and he need to rest. Don't forget he is now a commander." The king announced.
"In that case, I suggest he rest today, then travel tomorrow and resume his post." The Senate leader said.
"Your letter of promotion will be ready before then, farewell commander Horus." The king announced with another infectious smile, stood up abruptly, sauntered out of the auditorium that serves as the royal court, and was followed by his entourage.
"Go home and cuddle your mate, she would have missed you a lot!" The senate leader announced.
"I will be spending my time over here, she can wait some moment longer."
Reagan saw Maria standing near the bank of a river, and he walked close.
After his outbreak the night he learned of her pregnancy, Maria had ignored him and it seemed he no longer exist as she passed without even a glance.
He quickly grunts to alert the lady who seemed to be lost in thought, as she peeked at the face of the peaceful body of water.
Maria turned at the hearing of a grunt at her back, then turned back at the sight of Reagan.
"I think rain is coming," Reagan announced, taking three more steps, and soon covered the distance between him and Maria.
Maria ignored Reagan's weak attempt to start a conversation.
Of course, even the blinds will know of the incoming rain that had already turned the hot afternoon into a chilly day.
"We need to talk," Reagan said as he stood beside Maria.
"What else is there to talk about?"
"About us?"
"There is no more us, Reagan. I think we both agreed about that."
"Whatever we agreed on was only in a moment of anger," Reagan said. He looked at the beautiful face of Maria that had already started glowing as a result of her pregnancy.
"So what else are we talking about?"
"I still want you!"
"You are kidding?"
"No am not. I can't get you out of my head, and am going crazy at the thought of forever losing you."
"This is crazy, am carrying someone's else pregnancy for Christ's sake."
"It doesn't matter, you did it not with your full consciousness, it was unavoidable."
"Oh, Reagan!" Maria sobbed out as Reagan's words seemed to add pepper to her injuries and the thought of Apollon777's hand on her irritated her so much that she felt like vomiting.
"We will raise the child together along with his younger siblings that will soon follow."
"You don't need to say this out of pity, I swear that I can take care of myself and I will be okay," Maria announced, looking deeply at Reagan's face then marveling as she see the longing in him, and of course the pains of being a captive of everlasting love.
"Look into my eyes, Maria. I have sacrificed a lot to meet you, I promised to always love you until death does us apart, and I'm not letting go."
"I believe you, Reagan. Am... Am... So.. Oh!" Maria sobbed back.
"No my love, please don't cry. Everything will be okay, I promised."
"Now I know it will, thank you, Reagan. I love you!"
"And I love you two, you are my life, and am just a living dead without you," Reagan answered back, pulling her lover closer and cleaning the tears that now rolled down her face.
As if instructed, the cloud went dark as soon as the two lovers settled their rift.
"Let's go into my tent."
The pair quickly raced towards Maria's tent, but the inpatient rain soon drenched them before they reached half of the way. Luckily for them, they now had each other and the heat that will be emitting as their bodies collided should be enough to warm their soaked bodies.
