Watching the rock grow

Ten years ago, a young prince fled his town and renounced his status when his kingdom was forcefully taken over by his evil uncle that desired the throne and declared him an outlaw.
His parents were murdered by the evil uncle who had already corrupted the senate, his estate was all seized, his two children were killed, his wife was imprisoned and a bounty was placed on his head, but the dethroned king was never found.
But traveled to a far land, with a new name and a new identity, and started living the life of a commoner.
But the thought of his kingdom and his people never for once leave his mind.
The home they say is the loveliest place on earth, as the adages go.
"We are on our way to the lumibar kingdom," Zuma explained to his comrades as they rested under a tree beside a deserted road.
"How many days journey by horse? " Bobby inquired.
"Two days," Zuma replied. "We will be there by tomorrow evening."
"Maria smelled awful and need to be cleaned," Reagan muttered softly with a sour look.
"Let me help her out." Brenda requested.
She stood from the stone where she sat and walked toward Reagan and Maria.
"Thanks, but no thanks," Reagan replied. "You have done a lot for me already, please let me clean her up."
Brenda frown her face, look at Bobby, and shrugged her shoulder. "If you insist." She said.
"He is her lover and can take care of her," Bobby answered her unasked question.
Reagan dragged Maria to a small stream far off, and both parties soon disappeared out of sight.
"We need to keep going to meet up with our schedule," Zuma mumbled.
"Human lacks patient," Apollon777 said with a grin. "What will be will be."
Brenda shook her head in support of Apollon777's saying.
"You all should learn watching the rock grow, or drinking from an empty cup, otherwise you are all heading for self-destruction," Apollon777 warned.
His listener looked at him confusingly, so he explained. "Sitting beside a rock and watching it for some hours a day, or drinking from an empty cup for some hours will teach you all how to be patient."
"Watching the rock grow," Zuma said with a wide grin. "Thank you for the advice." He added.
"And what is the advantage of being patient?" Bobby asked Apollon777 with a fixed gaze.
"Patient will bring you tranquillity, makes you wiser, and live longer," Apollon777 replied, then added. "Lack of patient is the beginning of human's downfall."
"I agree with everything you have said," Zuma said.
"You have all eaten your food when it's still hot, now your mouth is burned when the meal is cold," Apollon777 emphasized.
"What is the-"
A sudden screaming emerged from the stream where Reagan and Maria had gone some moment ago.
Brenda, Zuma, and Bobby instantly sprinted towards the source of the disturbing noise.
"Reagan! What's going on over there?" Bobby cried out.
He heard no reply except the chirping of a strange bird with a shrieking tone.
"Sometimes, the patient dog sleeps with an empty stomach," Apollon777 said to himself with a grin as he raced after the trio in his front.
No point in telling humans the whole truth.
Sebastian just didn't disappear, he was instructed by Zuri to spy on Brenda and her team, and to keep updating him of every movement they make.
This, Sebastian, had done with secrecy and perfection, but he had lost them the night they planned to penetrate the palace and they had disappeared afterward.
Sebastian hide until the conflict is over, followed Zuri down to the Guara kingdom and a deep friendship had blossomed between the human and alien.
Today, both stood close to each other in a deep conversation.
"We are birds of a kind," Zuri confessed.
"Please explain." Sebastian inquired.
"We both betray our kind," Zuri announced.
Sebastian bobbed his head in agreement. "The ends justify the means." He retorted.
"That is why I want us to form a team," Zuri said. He raised his right human-like arm toward Sebastian.
"We are already a team," Sebastian replied as raised his hand to accept Sebastian's shake.
"Whatever you do or see, remember your loyalty lies with me." Zuri let out.
"And yours lies with me as well," Sebastian answered back. "Now, how to get the scepter?"
Zuri smiled and said, "I always have a plan."
Horus and his two guards were surprised at Maria's sudden disappearance.
Their journey became more difficult when one of the aliens started feeling faint as a result of the injury he had sustained during the conflict with the Big Tiger's gang.
"Take heart and be strong," Horus said to the injured man.
His phone rang and he checked the caller.
It was from his superior who had called earlier, so he instantly picked it up.
"Hello." Horus squealed over the phone.
"Zuri had murdered all the warriors with him and refused to commit suicide, thereby disregarding my commanded."
Horus's eyes boggle out but he said nothing.
"Find a new base and notify me to send your warriors to you." The voice over the phone commanded.
"Okay," Horus replied.
"And about the scepter?" The voice continued. "Did you know where it was hidden?"
"Yes," Horus replied.
"Will you be able to get it with a team of forty-seven more warriors?" The voice asked back.
"Yes," Horus replied.
"Your seven days will be starting the day I deliver your warrior to you." The voice explained and continued. "Don't fail me, Horus."
"I won't," Horus said as the line went dead.
"What is Zuri up to?" Horus asked the alien who now dragged his comrade along.
"No idea, boss. But whatever he has in mind, I believed he had overstepped his boundary." The alien replied.
"He is excusable if he demands a ceremonial death." The other dying alien mumbled in a whisper.
"It is my right to put him to death," Horus announced.
Big Tiger wept over the corpse of Durell as he was laid to rest in a six-foot hole.
The death of the young promising warrior shocked him to the marrow of his bone, but he consoled himself with the resolution that man is born to die.
Nevertheless, he resigns to spend the rest of his day avenging the death of Durell. No more running away from the Hooray.
After the cremation and short sermon by one of his gang members, Big Tiger and his men turned and walked back into the town in search of aliens.
"They will all pay for the death of my brother." Big Tiger announced to his faithful followers amidst roars of war songs and jubilations.
