The sacrificial lamb

The Hoorays entered inside the inner side of the rock.
Far off, the scepter laid on a small rock, and a snake curled around it.
"What kind of snake is this?" Zuri remarked at the grey-looking serpent that fixed its unblinking eyes on the aliens and their human supporters.
He gestured to one of the Hoorays to get close and bring him the scepter.
"Make sure you kill that evil-looking serpent." He shouted after the Hooray.
The chosen Hooray walked neared the scepter, few feet away, he raised his weapon to strike the snake's head.
"Halt." The serpent cries out. "My name is Enoch and am instructed to strike to death any man, woman, or aliens that tried to touch this scepter."
"Wait," Zuri screamed at the approaching Hooray. He walked some steps closed to the serpent and said. "My name is Zuri and I need the scepter." He told the hissing serpent in his front.
"Wait till Kira and Akira came back. Enoch replied. "You can collect it from them. But until then, get off my sight."
Zuri stepped back and winked at the chosen Hooray who is already alert.
The Hooray instantly slashed at the serpent on the rock, aiming to cut its head off.
The serpent saw the blade coming, it immediately leaped at the attacker and plummeted towards his face.
The Hooray quickly regains his proportion, with one hand, he grabbed the incoming snake and tried to hurl it on the ground far off from him. But the tiny serpent felt like stone and heavier in his hand.
He immediately dropped his weapon and pulled the snake away from him with his two hands.
Zuri winked at another Hoorays to bring him the scepter.
The Hooray walked cautiously for some steps, then leaped at the scepter.
He landed in front of the scepter and grabbed it.
The serpent bite the alien holding it and the alien instantly screamed and dropped it as pains evolved around his body and he fell like a stone.
The serpent then landed on the Hooray on the rock. It bite him in his outstretched hand and the alien dropped the scepter and slumped dead.
Two more aliens rushed at the scepter but the serpent bite them in the knee and toes, and both slumped dead instantly.
"Damn magic," Zuri cried out with defeat.
He screamed at the humans in his back to rush and bring him the scepter but they all fled out of the shrine, leaving the Hoorays to their fate.
"Disloyal humans," Zuri wailed after them, then kick a small rock out of anger.
"No honor nor bravery, you are all cowards."
He dialed his phone and barked as the call was picked from the other end. "Get your ass down here."
"Are they dead?" Horus asked. He gawked at four of his comrade lying stiff on the ground.
"I don't believe so, but until the physician comes, I just called him," Zuri replied.
He paced to and fro and shake his head in disgust.
In his front lies the object he had to seek for days, yet just a snake is preventing him from his prize.
"I have an idea," Horus mumbled.
Zuri looked at him and answered. " I need all the ideas your head has to offer."
"I can bring my prototype down here to get us the scepter, but am afraid it may take some time," Horus said.
"Will the serpent not strike her?" Zuri asked back.
"She will be struck but will continue walking as long as she is in the zombie mood, and will only drop dead when I switch it off," Horus answered back.
"The sacrificial lamb?" Zuri inquired.
"Yes, she will be dead but we will have what we seek," Horus replied.
"How many hours are we talking about?" Zuri inquired further.
"Twenty-four hours, at least," Horus replied.
"Summon her now," Zuri ordered.
Horus bobbed his head and instantly hunched over the gadget in his hand.
"What's the cause of this uproar?" Brenda asked Bobby who walked beside her, they entered inside the palace, but immediately turned back as lots of guards with weapons raced out of the palace towards the interior side of the town.
"No idea, but not because of us." He replied.
"Brenda!" Zuma called from some miles away, then sprinted towards them. "The aliens are here!" He cried out.
"Zuri and his Hoorays?" Bobby asked.
"Yes," Zuma replied.
"Why are they not coming this way?" Brenda inquired with arms akimbo.
Some guards marching some miles away came near them and their leader barked at them to come along and fight against the invading aliens.
"After you, sir," Brenda shouted after the guards. She face Zuma and asked. " Why are the aliens not coming this way?"
"Because the scepter is not hidden here," Zuma replied.
One guard who stood listening to their discussion came near them and said. "The scepter is hidden inside the Olumo shrine in Olumo town closed by."
"How far?" Bobby asked.
"Few minutes walk from here." The guard replied. He pointed towards a bushy road beside him and said. "Follow me."
"Argh." Apollon777 cried out, then thrust his weapon; a long, sharp fork-like blade into the neck of the Hooray closed by.
The weapon sink inside and the Hooray fell dead instantly.
Apollon777 sensed the presence of something plummeting towards him. He quickly withdrew his weapon from the unconscious Hooray on the floor, turned towards the incoming weapon, and raised his two arms to thrust his weapon against his attacker.
Fire sparkles as iron grinds against iron. Both aliens instantly withdraw their weapons, then strike at each other.
Apollon777 slashed at the Hooray in his front to pin him to the wall, but the Hooray raised his weapon and slashed back to deflect his blow.
The Hooray pressed a button in the left side of his wing, an electric rope flew out and curled around Apollon777.
Apollon777 shake violently for a while as the current toured all over him.
He gritted his teeth and forced his arm to where his dagger was kept.
The Hooray in his front walked near, put forward his weapon, and struck at the tied alien.
Apollon saw the weapon coming, he grunt louder and pulled out his muscles to reduced the tightness of the rope. His hand touched the dagger and he immediately brought it out, and cut off the rope, then somersaulted off the reach of the blade, and picked up the weapon he had dropped under the shock of electrocution.
The Hooray struck at him again, Apoolon777 quickly used his weapon as a shield against the incoming blade, he swerves, dagger poised forward, then he somersaulted toward his assailant and plunged the dagger into the Hoorays abdomen.
The Hooray realized his error late, he tried to avoid the incoming weapon by diving left to reduce the impact of the blade when it plunged into him.
Then he fronts kicked Apollon777 on the chest with his two legs.
The force throws Apollon777 off his feet and sends him spinning to the floor.
For some seconds, he can only see blinding light and strange humming sounds in his head as enormous pains from his chest sweeps over his body. He dropped in darkness for a while, then fell flat on the ground.
The Hooray grunted louder as he removed the weapon stuck inside him. He walked towards his opponent on the floor. Apollon dagger in his left hand and thrust it into him.
Apollo saw the blade coming, rolled off its reach, and crashed into the Hooray knees to knock him down.
The Hooray staggered and fall forward, mid-way, he somersaulted twice forward, then once backward and struck at Apollon777 with the dagger, the blade sank inside, he withdrew it and struck again.
"Gush!" Apollon777 cried out as the blade cut into his flesh, he immediately rolled off the second thrust, then jerked his leg forward. His thrust landed on Hooray's stomach and send him rolling on the floor.
Apollon777 stood up from the ground, picked his weapon, and scurried towards the Hooray in his front.
He raised his weapon and struck. Instantly, a round ball of heavy iron landed on his chest.
Apollon777 screeched, then slumped dead, but only for some seconds.
"Always the weaker one." The Hooray boasted, picked up his weapon from the floor, and aimed it at Apollon777's head, in a bid to cut off the head with just a slash.
Apollo saw the blade hovering dangerously closed to him, he rolled off the thrust and landed on his knees, then jumped up and smashed his head into the Hooray's nose.
He walked two steps backward, then somersaulted towards the hooray, his two legs landed on the Hooray's shoulder and knocked him down on the ground.
Apollon picked the Hooray's weapon and cut off his head instantly.
