Slow and steady

Zuri and the men with him traveled through the night and emerged at the gate of Guara kingdom as the first cock crow the following morning.
After identifying himself at the gate side, the gate was opened and the whole column entered inside and they immediately attacked the guards at the gate and killed them all.
Alarming bells sounded somewhere to awake the sleeping men and they instantly exist their restroom to fight against any invaders that may have landed in their midst.
The alien's gang before then has occupied all the defense positions and men awaited the incoming guards and quickly murdered them as they came near.
Zuri, Sebastian, and one-eye dragged Maria along and walked directly into Olumo town, then Into the inner side of the rock.
"Bring me the scepter," Zuri ordered.
Brenda, Apollon777, and Bobby entered into the opened gate of Guara town and sneaked after Zuri and the men with him.
They Immediately followed them into the town within, then descended along with them into the inner side of the rock.
Brenda froze as Maria walked close to Enoch and she counted each step with mouth agape.
"Halt," Enoch shouted at the approaching lady and raised itself on its tail to strike.
"Kira and Akira instructed me not to allow any man, woman, or alien to touch this scepter."
Maria ignored the outcrying serpent and walked closer with an unflinching gaze.
Enoch curled suddenly and lunged itself at the knee of the approaching lady, then froze at her aura.
"This is neither human nor alien." Enoch cried out, hissed, and curled off Maria's feet.
The twins had warned him against humans and aliens and not against a walking human machine.
Maria stepped over Enoch, stooped, and picked the scepter up. She turned and walked back toward Zuri.
At that moment, Brenda, Bobby, and Apollon777 instantly attacked.
Slow and steady wins the race, but not when there are more stronger and aggressive competitors.
Kira and Akira quickened their pace, ignoring the murmuring of the men who begged for sleep.
The twins held their hands together, and Augur stepped at their back and was followed by ten warriors and several semi-dead warriors at the rear end.
They soon reached the boundary of Osun and Ekiti state where the previous confrontation had occurred against the death-lane gang.
Far off, fire showed brightly from diesel-wetted clothing, sewed around long logs of woods.
The men with fire at the sight of the approaching scepter's gang member raced to meet them.
Immediately after the knockdown, the state was taken over by two rival gangs who fought to control every place where foods and other basic amenities were found.
Their conflict soon turned into war and mayhem until the scepter gang arrived.
After the defeat of the death-lane gang, their leader, with the remaining gang member instantly seek the help of the rival gang, and they formed an alliance and get set in pursuit of the scepter gang.
A day later, the two warring gangs meet, and another conflict occurred.
"Immortal warrior." Kira cried out.
"Attack," Akira added.
This time around, the alliance gang was well prepared, and they attacked the zombies with rappers, spears, and daggers attached to long rods.
Like before, Kira and Akira lunged into the midst of attacking mobs and started converting them into zombies. But the more they bewitched them, the more the determined alliance gang slaughtered them, so the war raged on.
Zuri turned at the approaching sounds at his back and instantly froze at the sight of Apollon777.
"We finally meet," Apollon777 said with a sly smile.
"Damn Apollon." Zuri replied." Are you here alone or with your kinsmen?" He added.
"None of your business," Apollon777 replied and brought out his weapon, then lunged at Zuri.
Sebastian suddenly dived forward, stretched his hand to snatch the scepter off Maria's hand, but Maria stepped back and kicked the incoming man with her right knee.
"Throw it to me," Brenda screamed at Maria.
"No!" Zuri cried out at Maria. "Give it to me now." He ordered, then dived at Maria as she delayed.
At that instance, Maria throw the scepter at Brenda, and she jumped up to grab it, then veered around to raced out of the shrine, but one eye dived at her and knocked her down with his weight. The man hopped on her and tried to snatch the scepter in her hand, but she held tight, then kicked him in the chest as he steer closer. Stand up and raced towards the stairs that lead into the outside world.
One-eye stood from the ground, picked up his dagger, and set to race after Brenda who by now had climbed all the steps. A few steps after, a force suddenly plummeted at him. He dived forward to escape the force, but the man plummeted towards widening his palm and hopped higher, then landed on One-eye's shoulder.
One-eye stood up, dusted his dirty clothing, then dived at his attacker.
Brenda raced forward and tucked the scepter inside her clothing, fastened it around her waist, and emerged at the warring zone. She dived off a dagger thrown at her, jumped up, and thrust his leg sideways to knock two guards with swords who slashed at her. She landed on her feet and instantly somersaulted to escaped another sword slashed at her.
A big man loomed forehead with a raised spear and struck at Brenda, but she ducked off the incoming thrust, turned, and thrust her sword into the man's chest. She removed it instantly and struck at another man with a sword.
Fighters from both sides fought at her right, so she turned left and soon emerged at the gate side, then she intermixed with some of the panicked inhabitants who are fleeing the town out of fear.
She soon reached where their horses were kept, hopped on one, and galloped off.
Maria followed Brenda out of the gate, saw her galloping away on a horse. She walked close to one of the remaining horses, hopped on one, and galloped after her.
Sebastian raced after Maria and saw her on a horse, galloping away. He instantly climbed the last horse and raced after the silhouette of the lady on the horse.
One-eye knocked the dagger out of Bobby's hand, then jabbed him in the face and the force of the blow sent him sprawling on the ground. One-eye picked up the dagger from the ground and lunged at the staggering man, who by now had stood up from his fall.
Bobby saw the man with an eye falling on him. He instantly jumped up as the man came close, whirled mid-air, and plunged his two legs to kick him in the chest.
One-eye staggered, fell, and instantly stood up, but another uppercut knocked him back on the ground.
Apollon777 struck his weapon at Zuri's head, but the alien stooped and rolled at him, then lunged his two knees on Apollon777's chest. Apollon777 staggered backward, then plunged back at his opponent. He blocked the two blows from Zuri, jerked him closer and lifted him, and smacked him on the ground. He stood up instantly, lifted him, dived to smack Zuri on the ground again, but Zuri curled his arms around his head and held tight, then smacked Apollon's head on the ground as he landed.
Apollon777 fainted for a second, he rolled off the ground and plunged his body at Zuri's knee, and both landed sprawling on the ground.
One-eye and Bobby circled each other for a while, One-eye front kicked at Bobby, but he bounced off the impact, jumped, swirled, and kicked the approaching leg with his knee. Then stepped back twice as two straight blows followed.
One-eye throws an uppercut as his blows were bobbed, but Bobby stepped back, plunged at his opponent's right hand, jerked him close, turned and heaved him, then smacked him on the ground.
Bobby hopped on his opponent on the ground to strangle him, but the man bite his palm and tried to shake the force off his body. But he held tight, knocked him down with his knee, and pinned him with his weight.
Life seemed to be seeping out of One-eye and his hand danced eerily on the floor, his fingers touched a dagger on the ground, he picked it up, heaved the man on his back forward, and plunged the dagger into his shoulder. He instantly removed it and jerked his hand closer to strike again, but a blow soon knocked him back on the ground.
Horus's superior officer is an alien with the name Geisha. He had gotten named when he singlehandedly save the crown prince from the invading Apollons until help arrived. In the end, he had killed fifty Apollons with his weapon and fist.
For hours, Geisha has been trying unsuccessfully to contact Horus, yet the screen on his front shows the new general to be alive.
"Damn Horus just murdered five hundred and forty Hoorays in a few hours. Geisha muttered to himself.
He touched where his phone was and barked out. "I need a thousand Hoorays on board now."
"Yes sir." A voice from the other side of the call replied.
Geisha cut the call and muttered to himself. Zuri had disobeyed his command, but that was the least of his concern, Zuri can be compared to peeling banana skin, it needs no knife, He will be dealt with soon.
His greatest concern is how to explain Horus's inefficiency to his superior. The newly-promoted Hooray had seemed promising with his invention and would have climbed the ladder of success in a few years. His failure with just forty Hoorays is excusable and he can easily defend him but five hundred Hoorays? That's unexplainable.
The worst is the fact that the scepter is still intact and not yet destroyed.
After minutes of self-meditation, Geisha concluded he had no one to blame but himself. Urgent matters should be handled by self and not dedicated to weaker and inexperienced fighters.
Geisha's phone rang and he picked it up instantly.
"A thousand Hoorays on board, sir." The caller said.
"I will be with them shortly," Geisha replied and disconnect the call.
Luckily, he had confirmed the location of the scepter from one of the first sects of Hoorays deployed to Horus.
"To Olumo town." He said to himself and walked towards the awaiting Hoorays on board.
