An obstinate fly

The men raced after the three retreating aliens and soon caught up with them. They instantly cornered them and attacked them immediately.
The aliens fought back but the two guards were killed.
In anger, Horus strikes out his tail to bite all his attackers, killing them instantly.
Big Tiger in outrage hopped up and cut off Horus's tail, sending the alien into unconsciousness.
The men gathered in jubilation and marched away from the battlefield.
Some minutes later, the alien's spaceship hovered close to the ground and picked up Horus by infrared light.
Another new alien's physician quickly attended to his wounds and then dropped him back on the ground.
An hour later, Horus, the only survivor of the first section of Hoorays dispatched to destroy the scepter was seen addressing his warriors inside Guara king's palace.
The horrible-looking alien looked clean and smiled as he marched amidst the men who stood in line in his front.
"Our target is the scepter, and it was kept in a shrine inside a rock named Olumo. Unfortunately, the scepter is guarded by a mysterious serpent with deadly venom, that we are yet to see a remedy to." Horus said.
"Can't the serpent be killed?" One of the Hooray with a deformed left hand asked.
"That is the mystery behind the serpent," Horus replied, paused to face the questioner then resumed his speech. "So far, none of our weapons can penetrate the serpent, but our only hope lies in another option-"
"No serpent can escape the blade of my weapon." The Hooray with the deformed hand boasted as he cut into Horus's speech.
Horus fixed his gaze on the untrained Hooray, shake his head, and said. "I assure you that you will have your desire if you live long enough."
The Hooray smirked his lips then pursed them together in defiance.
Horus ignored him and face the rest of his team to resume his speech. "Option B as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted-" Horus halted his speech, looked at the Hooray who had cut into his speech with an angry stare, and resumed his speech. "She was my prototype and the only instrument that can bring us the scepter.
Unfortunately, she was snatched off our hold during the last conflict, and had remained unseen since then."
"How are we going to find her?" Another elderly Hooray with sparkling grey hairs inquired.
"I can summon her, but I doubt the humans around her would allow her to come to me of her free will," Horus replied, paused, then strolled out his place in the front of the invading aliens and walked close to a portable gadget that looks like a small television screen. He on and pressed it for a minute and then nodded with satisfaction as he walked back towards the Hoorays in his front.
"She is here, and we are here," Horus said as he pointed at some dots on the screen of the gadget in his hand.
The Hoorays swarmed around him to have a glimpse of what Horus was pointing at. They all looked puzzled at the strange blinking dots of green light.
"How far from here to there?" The elderly Hooray with golden grey hair asked.
"Not too far if they stopped moving," Horus replied. "Either they halt, walked, or galloped on a horse, I want her in three days."
The awaiting Hoorays nodded their heads as they fall back in line.
"Ten Hoorays will be staying to guard our gadgets, the remaining thirty-nine will march along with me in search of her," Horus said, and quickly selected those staying at base.
Then he faced the armed Hooray and said. "Humans are not our friends but our enemies. We must never forget why we are here, and always know what we are doing, as the planet earth is filled with lots of temptations and trials."
Having said this, Horus led the way and he was followed by his selected thirty-nine Hoorays.
The scepter gang marched towards their destination.
The large numbers attract people's attention towards them, but they were left alone until they reached the border town between Osun state and Ondo state.
Far off, a large gathering of armed men scampered towards and stopped twenty miles away.
"No humans or aliens are allowed to pass through this state." A tall man, dressed in white regalia and a cap that makes him look like a Vatican pope read from a scroll in his hand.
He glared towards the approaching gang, then jerked his right hand toward them and cried out.
"Go back wherever you are coming from, or else you will all be put to the blade of my crusaders."
"We are just passing through your region into the next state." Kira cried back.
"We meant no harm and will keep to the main road," Akira added.
"An obstinate fly that followed a corpse into the grave will be buried along with the corpse." The man warned back in the proverb.
"We have a mission on the other side, and we are not turning back," Kira answered back.
"We beg you to reconsider your decision and allowed us to pass in peace," Akira added.
But the man refused, but order his men to be set for attack. "I'm giving you only a minute to turn back." He yelled back.
"What is your name?" Akira inquired from the man.
"Pope." The man answered back. "Am the God's scourge, set to clean the world of all sin."
"Pope, I beg you not to slaughter men out of arrogance. Akira warned back.
"Remember your proverb of the obstinate fly goes both ways," Kira added.
The infuriated Pope instantly ordered his men to attack.
Over two hundred people cried out together war songs and immediately raced the few miles separating them.
"Arrange half of our men to counter-attack them now," Kira instructed Augur who stand beside her.
"Yes, your highness." Augur answered back. He turned toward the men arranged in ten units and selected the five sections race toward the incoming men.
What ensues immediately was clashes of irons against irons and blood was spilled as both parties lost men of valor who fought for what they have no understanding of.
As the saying goes, it is better to die for something, than to live for nothing. But at least, we ought to know what we are dying for.
Bobby was the first to reach the river where Reagan and Maria had gone for a clean-up.
He saw her clothing neatly arranged beside the river, but neither Reagan nor Maria was seen.
He was soon joined by Brenda and Zuma, and the trio cried out their names several times, but only the echoes of their voices were heard in response.
"I think they were abducted," Brenda said with a saddened voice.
"Yes, Apollon777 who just joined them responded.
He pointed to the footprints on the ground beside the bank of the river and said. "They went this way, let's go."
The whole group followed the footprints on the ground, they walked for some minutes and sighted a lonely warehouse surrounded by tall grasses. They quickly raced towards the warehouse but halted as two young girls in overgrown clothe sauntered towards them.
As they came nearer, Brenda noticed strange pores all over their bodies.
The two girls walked closer, and giggle with every stride.
One among them stretched out her hand and offered them from the burnt-looking meat she was eating.
"Wanna have a bite?"
Bobby sniffed his nose at the whiff of smell emitting from the two girls. "No sweeties, we are just looking for two of our friends that were kidnapped a few minutes ago." He replied.
The second girl giggle louder and pointed toward the lonely hall.
"Ask Pappy, he will show you their remnant." She let out, winked at her friend and both walked past the newcomers toward a half-burnt truck parked some miles away.
"Are they crazy?" Zuma asked.
"No idea," Brenda answered back.
"Let's go," Apollon777 said, then lead the way.
They all hurried toward the warehouse on the field.
With each step they took, the smell of rotten flesh became more nauseating. Some step to reach their destination, two men with abnormal fatty belles and pores like the two girls that just passed walked out of the warehouse, saw them and pointed at them with a frightening look.
The elderly one whispered to his companion and he quickly turned back and entered back into the warehouse. While the other man walked toward Brenda and her gang and cried out to them.
"This is out of bound to all humans and aliens.
" We are looking for two of our friends that was abducted some minutes ago in that river down there," Brenda replied.
The man soliloquise for some second, he looked back at the entrance of the warehouse and wave his two hands at the approaching party. "We did not see anybody." He answered back.
"Mind if we look around?" Brenda said. She walked close to the man and was followed by Bobby, Zuma, and Apollon777.
The man took a few steps back as the gang came nearer.
He looked back at the entrance of the warehouse and smiled as seven more men and three women came out with weapons. "Get off this place now, or else-"
"Or else what?" Apollon777 cut through the man's statement. He leaped in front of Brenda to protect her.
Bobby growled with jealousness, he tried to shove Apollon777 off Brenda's front, but stopped and smirked when Brenda shot him a meaningful glance.
"Damn alien trying to seduce my woman." He muttered silently.
Apollon777 heard but ignored him.
He puffed up his shoulder to look more formidable and said in a growl to the approaching armed people. "Get off our way now."
The elderly man with abnormal fatty belle winked at his comrades and they all raced with weapons raised towards the incomers.
A thin man with a spear thrust at Apollon777.
He took two steps backward to escape the blade of the spear, then dived left to escape another dagger thrown at him. The thin man jumped close and thrust his spear at his neck, but Apollon777 knelled down immediately and rolled toward the thin man, then punched him with his two fists In the stomach.
The stunned man dropped his spear, then held his stomach with his two palms. He tried to scream, but the pains spreading out of his stomach to all his bodies muffled his voice so he gasped for breath, then he looked more alarmed as a big fist loomed toward his face, heard the sound of broken bones and teeth, then everything became dark as he fell backward and fainted.
A well-muscled man jumped in front of Apollon777 and held a sword in his left hand and a big iron chain in his right hand.
He slashed the long-chain at Apollon777 and it landed with a loud sound on his shoulder. The man quickly withdrew the weapon and slash again.
Apollon777 spooned around immediately the chain landed on his shoulder.
He thrust his hand forward to deflect the second slash, then hold the chain and jerked the man close to him.
The man strike with his sword, but Apollon777 raised his left leg and struck it at the arm of the man holding the weapon.
The sword flung out of his hand and landed inside an erosion-dug hole close by.
The man held the chain tightly with his right hand, then throw a straight blow at his opponent's left cheek.
Apollon777 blocked the incoming blow by raising his folded left hand to guard his face.
He swiveled around the man, then jerked him closer and strangled him with the chain.
The man with the abnormal fatty belle throws a deadly punch at Bobby, but he weaved out of the reach of the blow, then front kicked him in the stomach with his right leg.
He smiled as the man's eyes became red and misty, then throw an uppercut with his right hand into the jaw of the dying man to knock him down.
Brenda walked through the fighting men, she somersaulted twice as two knives were thrown at her by a lady dressed as a killer in a teenage slasher movie.
She landed in front of her opponent, stepped back to avoid a dagger thrust at her, and quickly punched the lady's arm to deflect the second thrust.
The lady gave a loud scowl and thrust her right leg toward Brenda to front kick her in the stomach.
Brenda saw the incoming thrust and instantly slashed her sword at the leg and cut it off, she removed the sword and then thrust it into the chest of the screaming lady to silence her.
Brenda jumped over the thrashing corpse of the dying woman and entered inside the dimly light warehouse.
As her eyes get accustomed to the darkroom, her expression quickly turned into total shock and she fell faint at the sight before her. "Oh my God!" She cried out.
