Death is the price for treachery
Apollon777 hunched inside the darkroom, pacing to and fro with anxiety over the unknown.
"Where is Brenda and what could be happening outside?"
He had been hidden alone through the night and he can see the day risen from the east.
"Soon, everywhere will be bright, then what?"
With lots of unanswered questions in his mind, Apollon777 soliloquize alone for a while.
He went to a hole made by the dynamite explosion and peeped out of the town toward the far land.
"Hoorays closed by!" He muttered with a sad smile and awaits the cries of war.
Brenda and Bobby sneaked through the early morning darkness before daybreak.
They ducked behind a damaged car in the front of the palace and crawl towards the main gate.
"Stay here," Brenda whispered at Bobby, without waiting for him to object, she stood up and walked towards the four guards at the gate.
"Hush, come back here," Bobby whispered after her.
One of the guards with a cigarette burning in his lips barked at her to turn and walked back to where she is coming from.
"I need to see the King." She answered back and walked closer to the guards.
"The king is on the bed and won't attend to you now." The man replied.
"Come back when the day is fully breaking." One of the guards added.
"If you can give me a quickie, then I promised to get you to the presence of the king as soon as possible. "
"That will be amazing." Brenda replied, walked towards the man with a smile, and said." Where are we doing the quickie?"
"Anywhere." The man replied, gazed at his comrade, then stuck his tongue out at them.
He stretched his two arms towards Brenda to pull her close.
"Let me touch what you have to offer."
Brenda immediately folded her finger to form a fist and punched at the approaching arms, breaking the fingers. Then punched him in the neck, and he fell dead.
Bobby razed towards the three men who had circled Brenda.
He reached their side in a few seconds, bend to avoid a sword thrust at him, somersaulted towards his attacker, and plummeted on him, his right leg raised forwards and landed in his head to knock him down.
He rolled on him, pinned him down with his knees, and twisted his head backward to break the neck.
The man gaped at him then slumped dead.
A knife was thrown badly at Bobby, it struck him in the left side of the chest, causing minor damages.
He removed it from his body and walked toward the man who throw the knife.
"Argh!" Brenda's attacker cried out as he slashed his sword at her.
She immediately stepped back, swinging her left leg to knock the dagger off his hand.
The man, now weaponless leaped at her, held her close, then heaved her up in a bid to smash her on the ground.
But Brenda twisted in the air then landed on the man's neck.
She pinned him with her knees and held tight with her two strong arms to strangle him.
"Urgh!" The suffocating man cried out. He hold the lady on his neck and heaved her off with all his strength, then smashed her on the floor.
"Damn you," Brenda screamed.
She immediately rolled off her spot to escape the man's leg as he strike at her. She picked the knife on the floor, lunged at the man, blocked his blow with her right elbow, and thrust the knife into his neck.
The man who had thrown his knife at Bobby quickly raced towards the gate of the palace to awaken his comrade inside.
Bobby aimed at him with the knife, throw and it landed on the man's neck.
He froze, fell, then surge forward towards his escape route, removed his whistle, and blow it.
Brenda leaped at him, she swung her knee and smashed it into his face, then thrust the dagger into his stomach to finish him off.
Bobby walked up to her, patted her on her back, and grinned. "Let's go inside." He mumbled.
Suddenly an alarm sounded somewhere and the loud noise boomed loudly, awakening all the inhabitants of Gujarat town.
A few hours earlier, the Hoorays and their human comrade walked to their destination.
"Our contacts are directly in front of us, I think we are there," Horus told Zuri as the whole column neared Gujarat town.
"Keep checking on them and let me know whenever they turned back," Zuri replied.
"About my prototype, the virus has fully evolved on her. And now, I can compel her to perform any task or actions I want." Horus announced.
"Is that good news?" Zuri asked back.
"Yes. With this invention, we can control all humans on earth with just a button." Horus replied with excitement glowing on his face.
"That will be amazing." Zuri asserted. "What if they defy your order?" He asked.
"Then I will be killing them one by one with just a press of this button," Horus replied with a smile.
"I beg your pardon, please explain." Zuri let out.
"My prototype will be unconscious if I press this red button, she will remain unconscious and only become alive if I press this green button." He paused, gazed at Zuri who fixed his two fiery eyes on him, and resumed. " Whenever I press this yellow button, she will be compelled to do whatever I command her."
"That will be remarkable," Zuri announced with respect. "And when we inject this virus into all humans-"
"Then we will be able to control them, thereby achieving our mission without bloodshed." Horus cut in.
"Perfect," Zuri replied.
"Thank you for believing in me," Horus said with a slight bow.
'I have submitted your name and your achievement to my superior. I will also inform him of this discussion." Zuri said. His phone rang and he quickly shot his hand to where it was located to pick up the call.
'We are in the town where the scepter is kept." Sebastian's voice boomed over the phone.
"We will be there soon," Zuri replied with a smile.
"Bow before our king!"
A pot-belle man that served as the king's jester cried out.
Brenda and her gang immediately fell on their knees and put their foreheads on the ground.
"Damn king!" Bobby mumbled silently.
Brenda sneers at him and curses him silently.
"You can now rise!"
The jester announced after the king and his queen had sat on their chairs.
"Heard you want to settle down with us." The king asserted.
"Yes," Brenda replied with a bow.
"Where are you from and why did you choose to come here?" He inquired further.
"The United of America and we are on our way to Cameroon when our plane crashed into a river," Brenda said, then point at Zuma and resumed. "Except this man here, he is our guard and has become part of the family."
"Why are you going to Cameroon?" The king asked with a frown.
"We are on an official visit, under United nation as a personnel to some big men at the top." She replied. "
The king discussed with his queen for a while.
Boobed his head as a decision was made and looked sternly at Brenda and her cohort.
"You will be staying with us until the twins returned from their journey, you are free to roam within the city, but you must never leave the city without my permission."
"Thank you, your majesty," Brenda muttered back
"If one of you disobeys my order, you will all be killed." The king let out, then faced the guards beside him and said. "I want these five men to be watched day and night, and start building the broken wall, I want no more unneeded visitors."
"It shall be done, your majesty." The leader of the guards replied with a bow.
The King abruptly stood from his chair and was followed by the queen and their guards.
"Bow to our king!"
The king jester shouted at them again.
They instantly fell to the floor until the king and his entourage entered the beautiful building that served as their palace.
Augur was still deep in a nightmare when he felt someone tapping him.
"Master, wake up." The voice said.
Augur opened his eyes and looked around with bewilderment.
"Where am I?"
"We are moving." The guard waking Augur said.
"Yes." Augur said as recollection set in, "I will be joining you soon."
The young guard bow and walked out of the room.
Augur immediately sprang from the bed and clean his face with some water put in a basin beside the bed.
He tried unsuccessfully to clear the emblazoned dream off his mind, but the nightmares keep coming back to him.
"This is as true as the gospel of things to come." He muttered with fear as he join the moving team.
Augur was greeted by warriors along the way, he believed most of them will wish to be in his position right now. But unknown to them, uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.
Far off, Kira and Akira were seen discussing with two guards.
He walked towards them and bow as he was spotted by the twins.
"Good morning." Augur greeted Kira and Akira.
"Good morning Augur, please join us," Akira respond.
"Can you start from the beginning, please?" Akira told one of the men in her front.
Augur walked towards them and stood at ease. His eyes gazed at the frail-looking black man with the jaunty look and a spear, then at the other tough-looking man with curly hair who hold a sword.
"What could have caused this early disorder?" He thought.
"I saw this man standing here, discussing with ten men in black clothing on horses." The man with the spear cried out.
"He is lying!" The other man screamed back.
"Men in black clothing!" Augur wailed aloud.
Kira and Akira looked at him with a frown.
"Why did you scream out?" Akira asked with suspicion showing on her face.
"I just woke up from nightmares about them." He answered back
Kira grinned and mumbled. "This is getting interesting."
"Did you sneaked out of your post to give attention to ten men in black on horses?" Akira asked the accused man.
"No. Never. I never leave my post except when I went for a pee." He answered back.
"He is lying." His accuser shouted at him. "I saw you walking towards this side-" he pointed towards the place where they were coming from, then resumed." I sneaked after you and hide behind a tree when I saw some men galloping towards you." The man explained.
"You are lying." The other man shouted back at him. "This is absurd as I didn't meet anyone except my co-guards on duties. "
"What did you tell them?" Akira inquired.
"Nothing, please don't listen to him." The accused man shouted back.
He walked towards his accuser and instantly struck at him with his sword, cutting off his head with a swift, then turned towards Akira, and slashed his weapon at her.
The blade swirled forward dangerously at Akira's neck, but she took a step back to avoid it, then a dagger from nowhere appeared in her hand and she lolled it towards her assailant.
The blade glittered and struck the man on his chest.
He thrashed around for some seconds then fell dead.
She stretched her hand towards the dagger stuck it in the fallen man's chest, the weapon instantly whirled back to her, then disappear into the thin air.
"Cut his head, put it on a spike to be carried by a guard along with us. This will serve as a deterrent to those who may want to betray us in future." Akira. cried out.
"Aye!" Augur answered. Everything had happened in a flash, making it incomprehensible for him to absorb.
He raced towards the dead spy and cut his head off with his sword.
"Death is the price for treachery. Kira said.
