A VICTIM OF CIRCUMSTANCE
The legions of dooms traveled through the night, and emerged close to Zuma mountain, by daybreak.
Far off, a large column of men made their camps, on the highway, and in front of them are a very large army of aliens.
Kira and Akira raced through the zombie's midst, then appeared in the front of their warriors.
"Halt!" Kira cried out to the zombies, looked at her sister beside her, and let out. "That's Brenda and her gang, against the Hoorays."
"Aye, are we attacking them from the rear, or joining them to attack the alien?" Her sister asked back.
Kira stood for a while in deep thought. "What to do?" She asked herself, facing her sister, and let out, if we attacked humans, then the aliens will attack us, and if we ally with Brenda, then we will lose the scepter as well."
"Whatever decision we make, it seemed we will be losing the scepter, in the end," Akira said with a gloom look.
The twin's precarious situation made them reason together, for a longer time, and in the end, they decided to support the humans against the aliens.
"Let's send the foxes off first, then we will be teaching those chickens the lesson of their lives." Kira let out.
"Best decision," her sister responded. "We can still persuade Brenda to hand the control of the world to us, even if the scepter is unleashed."
"But what about our ritual of perfection? We are going to grow old and die without the scepter."
"Aye, one more miserable reincarnation," Akira replied.
"We are in a delicate situation, yet allying with humans is our best shot," Kira announced.
"Yes, but what about-"
Akira's question was interrupted by the loud grunting of the zombies at their back.
The twins turned, then glare at the Jihadists far off.
"Those leeches are on our trail!" Kira exclaimed with a shocking stare.
"This makes our position more precarious."
"Let's seek for Brenda and reason with her, while we stationed our warriors to counter-attack, in case the jihadists assault us," Kira announced.
The twins stationed a thousand of their warriors to face the jihadists then walked with the rest of the column and soon got closer to the gang, as they were preparing for the counter-attacking.
"Halt and wait for us!" Kira cried out to the zombies with them. She hold her sister's hand and dragged her closer to the men, who now glare at the two approaching ladies.
"The legions of dooms!" One among the men exclaimed, and quickly informed Horus and the general with him of the presence of the twins, in their camp.
"Direct them over here," Horus instructed the men.
A few minutes later, Kira and Akira appeared before Horus, and he glare at them the way a drunkard glared at an unfortunate fly that plummeted into his jug of beer. "You two are a sight for sore eyes, may I know why you are here?"
"We seek the presence of Brenda," Akira answered back.
"Brenda is not here, and am the one in charge, any other thing you need?"
"Yes, we have realized our mistakes, and are ready to ally with you." Kira let out.
"But you must keep your part of the bargain, and hand over the control of the world to us," Akira added.
"The agreement was between you and Brenda, and I have no say over this. As for allying with us, you are welcome." Horus answered back. He looked lost in thought at the reason why the twins has decided to join them.
Suddenly, Horus's sight caught the large column of the jihadists, and he instantly grinned at the twin's cunningness, then smirked as he muttered to himself. "They are afraid of the gang at their back, trapped at another gang in their front, no wonder they seek for truce-."
"We are not afraid!" Kira exclaimed, and cut into Horus's thoughts, and the tall alien growled louder, as his privacy was invaded.
"Our chance is to unite against the aliens," Akira added to her sister's exclamation.
"Those at your back are the jihadists, and they are Brenda's ally," Horus muttered.
"Really!"
"You don't mean it!"
The twins exclaimed together and looked relaxed at the hearing of such a pleasant muttering.
"Our chances are increasing, so where is Brenda?" Kira smiled, then asked.
"We parted days ago, and we both agreed to meet here, but we haven't seen them yet."
"They will soon meet with us." The general with Horus answered back.
Kira peeked into the camp of Horus, and her eyes instantly fell on the weapons in the men's hand. She veered towards Horus and let out. "I can see you have given your weapons to humans."
"Yes, but we have both agreed not to use it against each other."
"Why such an agreement?" Akira asked with a puzzled look.
"Because this weapon will cause pollution and destroy mother earth, besides, true honors lies in a one-on-one fight, and not with a weapon made for cowards," Horus answered back.
And the twins looked more mystified by his intelligent explanation.
"What about the leader of your clan's warrior, will he respect his side of the bargain?" Kira asked.
"Yes, but not for long. He will change his mind if suffers greater loss."
"Can we talk to him, perhaps struck a bargain to avoid this bloodshed?" Akira inquired.
"No, Yaris has something to prove. He was an outcast, and the success of this mission will not only make him be fully accepted into our clan but will also make him be honored for the rest of his life."
"Victim of circumstances!" Akira muttered out. "He will lose his life, trying to prove his worth to those who had already seen him worthless, but capitalizing on his ambitions."
"Aye, a victim of circumstances indeed!" Her sister exclaimed back.
Horus watched Yaris, as he instructed his Hoorays, glanced back and frown at the mobs in his front, then resumed his speech.
"Why are they delaying their attack?" Kira asked.
"Because of the rain that just fell, our gripped on the soil is weak when the ground is slippery."
"Let's reason with the jihadists, and informed them of our plan of attack and counter-attacking," Kira said.
Horus nodded his head, then stepped after the twins, as they walked towards the camp of the jihadists, and he was followed by some of the important fighters among the column.
The commander-general, and his three generals, galloped closer to the incoming mobs, and one among them asked as soon as both parties met.
"Where is Brenda?"
"On their way." One among the general answered back. "We are happy to see you all."
"And we are happy you are still on your feet, and not six feet under the soil." The commander-general let out.
"Are these twins your ally as well?" One among the general of the jihadists asked.
"They have been practicing dark magics and enslaving the souls of men." Another general let out.
"We respected you, else we would have attacked them, as soon as they galloped at arm's reach." The commander-general announced, then spit out to show his distasteful feelings, at the sight of the twins.
"Whatever their offenses were, all hands should be on deck to send us out of the earth, then you can now settle your indifference between each other." Horus let out.
"He is right, " the commander-general let out, whirled at the twins, and announced with a glare. "You will pay for your sin after the aliens are gone."
"Yes, forgiveness is a sin." One among the general said.
"You can keep seeking vengeance and personal desire, or you can forget the past, forget your selfish desire, and put all hands on deck to repair the damaged earth. The choice is yours!" Horus said, looked at the humans in his front, and resumed his speech. "Remember, it was your evil deed that caused the rift in your world and made us invade you. Keep up with your evil deed, and another greater evil will befall you."
All the men stare at Horus, and the alien's words pierced through their hearts, and their mouths were opened as they marvel at his speech.
Yaris was at loss at the larger column of men before him. How Horus had assembled almost eight fighters in a few hours amazed him so much that he looked forlornly at his fighters for a long moment.
His eyes soon dart back to the enemy's camp, then at the men at the far ends.
He picked up his gadget that looked like a telescope, and peered through it, then groaned out, at the sight before him. "Even the jihadists now have our weapons!"
The Hoorays closed to him heard him, picked up the same gadget, and peered through it, and they all frowned when they saw the jihadists brandishing the weapons of death.
"Is it given to them by Horus as well?" One among the Hoorays asked with a shocking expression.
"What did you think, who else will dash our weapons out?" Yaris asked back with a growl.
And his conscience instantly pricked him for his lie, but he quickly shut it up. The weapon was the one he had forgotten in a moment of desperation, but why should he admit his error in the presence of his warriors?
