THE TWENTY SPIES

The mobs at the back of the rock, waited for hours, in expectations of Horus and the men with him. Tired of their waiting, Brenda sends some men to go in search of them.
"Galloped toward the other side and informed them of our position, if you see them."
As soon as the twenty men left, Brenda and a few among the top fighters stepped into the village at the back of the rock and searched for the inhabitants.
After a few hours of thorough searching in the deserted village, some young men were seen, hidden in a groove, and they were quickly circled and brought into the front of the rest of the column.
"Why is everywhere deserted?" Brenda asked the four men, as soon as they were seated in her front.
"Rumours of wars and invasions had made all the villagers runoff." One among the young men answered back.
"They have retreated into the forest because of the aliens that had been sacking this village since the knockdown."
"What are they looking for?" Maria asked.
"We have no idea, but I think it has to do with this mountain."
"They are also searching for an object, or someone, as they keep peeking at the roads in expectations."
Brenda looked at the men in her front and asked. "Have you ever heard anything about a scepter, or how it can be used, on this mountain?"
"A scepter?" The men asked back, with a puzzled look. "We have never heard of anything like that."
"Only one man can answer your question, and he had run off with the rest of the villagers." One among the men answered back.
"Aye, our chief is the oldest man in the village, and he should be in the custody of such information."
"Did you know where they ran off to?" Maria asked.
"No idea." The men quickly answered back.
"You are lying, we have the scepter that can send the aliens back to where they came from when unleashed." Bobby let out, with a growl.
"Lead us to your chief, and let's save the world," Maria added to his speech.
The men looked puzzled for a while, then one of them answered back. "Did you promised not to harm us or our chief?"
Brenda peeked at the men in his front, smiled to reassure them, then let out. "We are not here to harm you or your chief, we already have someone who promised to help us, but he is not here."
"Then we will take you over there."
"Thank you, I shall be going with Bobby, others should wait here, and informed the rest of our column when they arrive," Brenda announced, holding Booby's hand, and both walked after the men.
They followed the men into the forest at the back of Zuma rock, and the crunching sounds of dried twigs echoed in the forest as their feet trampled on them.
In love with the naturally peaceful environment, Bobby whistles softly and his whistling seemed to be in rhyme with the melodious chirping of the birds.
"This is a serene environment, and I love it!" Brenda exclaimed.
"The rock and its whole environment were first discovered by the gwari people. And they are here to capture guinea fowls, later settle around, and started worshipping it."
"Worshipping Zuma rock?" Brenda asked with a shocking look.
"Yes, this is not just a rock, but a sacred place that protected the whole villagers." The speaking men retorted back.
"But now, aliens had desecrated the holy land." One among the men let out, with a hiss.
"During invasions, our forefathers will gather, then escaped into the inner chamber of the rock, and will be saved, till the onslaught is over."
"And that is where they are!" Brenda exclaimed.
"Aye," the young man replied. "There is a hidden path as we circled it, it leads directly inside"
"And the inside is bigger than the world's largest auditorium. With the stream, the source of sunlight and fertile land. We can hide there for a year if we need to."
"Some humans on the back of their animals were coming from the rear." One among the Hoorays, stationed on the smaller rock, along the road, announced over his gadget."
"Can they be captured? The voice of Yaris boomed over the speaker attached to the Hooray's body.
"Not sure, they were far from us and would have escaped before we hopped down."
"Try to trap them down in our midst, and make sure none of them escape."
"Yes sir, can we attack them with our weapon of death?"
"Yes, if you can't capture them alive, they were spies and none of them must escape."
"Okay sir," the Hooray answered back, disconnect the call, and motioned to some of his comrades to sneak close to the highway and capture the men when they turned to retreat.
While another section was ordered to fire at any of the men, who may try to escape being captured.
The men sent to search for Horus arrived at the back of the alien's warriors, they quickly halted their horses, whirled back, and galloped back to where they were coming from.
One of them look up from the back of his horse, glared at the aliens hopping at them from the top of a small rock beside the road, and quickly alerted his comrades.
"Aliens at our side!"
The men jerked their horses furiously, and the poor animals whined and raced with all the strength in their strong legs.
Suddenly, some blazing arrows plummeted towards them from the top of the clif and struck them.
"We are under attack."
"Race faster."
"They are killing us."
The cries of the men were heard as the arrows turned them into dark ashes.
And at the end, only ten horses escaped the sudden assault, and the animals galloped back into the camp.
When Yaris learned that none of the spies were captured alive, and none of them escaped, he peeked at the top of the Zuma rock for a while in a deep trance, seconds later, his hand jerked the gadget off his body and he dials some numbers, then barked into the mouthpieces as soon as the line was picked at the other side.
"Lead a team of five hundred fighters, and trailed the footprints of the escaped horses, back to where those twenty spies came from."
"Yes, sir."
Yaris disconnect the call, punched the numbers on the gadget furiously with his big middle finger, and barked out as soon as it was picked on the other side by another of his team leader.
"Take five hundred warriors and climbed into the top of the biggest rock at your back."
"What?"
"Are you deaf, or what?" Yaris barked out with a growl. "climb to the top of Zuma rock await further instruction."
"Yes... Yes sir." The voice sputtered back.
Yaris disconnect the call, nodded his head in satisfaction at his plan, and smirked at the remembrance of the sputtering Hooray when he heard he had to lead the team that will be climbing the rock. "He thinks is easy to be named!" Yaris exclaimed to himself, smirked louder, and let out., "He will be thinking that am crazy for such an impossible mission!"
And in truth, Yaris is.
