Once beaten

Maria sauntered absentmindedly alone for a longer time. The sound of her shoes could be heard from far as it echoed in the early morning.
She muttered something to herself and increased her pace and soon stepped out of Lumbar kingdom into the outside world.
With a final glance back, Maria hurried and soon disappeared into the far land, to be followed by the echoes of her shoes.
Some distance far off, Horus in the company of two hundred Hoorays raced forward, fought back the humans on their pursuit, and then fall back in line.
Horus gazed at the gadget in his hand and shouted out with surprise. "Our target is close by, and advancing towards us."
Momentarily later, Maria appeared in front of Horus and walked close to the aliens.
Horus at the sight of Maria instantly motioned to his fighters to grab the girl and carried her along.
Then he ordered them to turn back and counter-attack the humans on their tail.
The Hoorays under the command of Horus raced back towards their attackers and another bloody conflict started.
The barack's gang general is a bulky man with a bald head, wide chest, and protruding tummy.
He was seen at the rear end of his warrior and he shouted instructions and plans to them.
"I instructed you to drive the aliens to the groove behind us, but you dispersed out of fear."
He yelled at the ten commandants in his front. Looked grim as the aliens cut through his men's defense and yelled louder in annoyance.
"Tell your men to retreat, then form a formidable defense at the right side of the T-junction, to force the alien to take the left side."
"Yes sir." The men replied and instantly disperse to inform their men of the latest instruction from the overall boss.
Horus saw the humans suddenly retreating and quickly command some of his Hoorays at their pursuit to halt and fell back in line.
"Once beaten, twice shy," Horus warned with a proverb and resumed. "Humans may look weak, but their cunningness surpassed the fox."
One among the Hooray grumbled at the missed opportunity to slaughter the retreating humans but Horus ignored him and glanced as the men all gathered together to block the right side of the T-junction they had come from.
"Are we cutting through their midst?" One Hooray asked with a blood shoot eyeballs.
Horus thought for a while in confusion. Cutting through the humans will result in more casualties of his warriors but it's the fastest route while taking the unknown road will be saver as they can easily defend themselves as they retreat, but will add more hours to their journey.
"Two heads are better than one," Horus thought but asked back. "What did you suggest?"
"Going into their midst will be deadlier but faster." The Hooray replied with a mystified look and felt privileged to be asked his opinion by his commander. "We can easily defend ourselves, then maneuvered after some hours of journey."
Horus bobbed his head in agreement and instantly ordered his warriors to turn left and counter-attack as they retreated.
His instruction was heard and obeyed by all the weary aliens, but it was the second mistake Horus will be making in a few hours.
Brenda, Apollon777, and Bobby galloped at a far distance from Maria. They saw when the aliens gathered at the T-junction to fight the men attacking them and hide inside the forest nearby to watch the ongoing conflict.
"I pray she makes it out of the confrontation alive," Bobby whispered.
"She is a fighter, I have no doubt she will," Apollon777 replied.
Brenda bobbed her head, then rested her body on a tree nearby.
She gazed at the war going on, while her thought are with Zuma.
The new king had awoken from his concussion and was healing perfectly when they left.
Brenda had put the man named Atim in control of the kingdom affair until when Zuma fully come around.
The exhausted guards had marched along with them till the gate side and saluted as they disappeared into the far land, to be followed by the dust raised by the hooves of their horses.
"The Hoorays have turned left," Apollon777 shouted and cut into Brenda's swirling thought.
"Let's gallop closer to have a look," Bobby said.
The column galloped closer to the mobs and suddenly paused in horror at the sight before them.
"The Hoorays are having a tougher time against the humans in their front." Apollon777 rambled.
"God save Maria." Brenda prayed.
Zuri and his newly acquired warriors wandered and suddenly emerged at the back of the retreating aliens.
He smirked as Hoorays attacked, defended, and then retreated, only to fall in line.
"Horus will murder all the Hoorays with him," Zuri muttered silently.
Even without interference from the alien's gang, all Hoorays with Horus are having a bad time and their numbers keep decreasing.
"Be ready to attack the retreating aliens," Zuri ordered, and the men with him brought out their sharpened weapons and cried out in one voice.
"Huh!"
Horus and the Hoorays with him reached the T-junction and turned left as the gathered mobs blocked the right way.
Suddenly the ground under the feet of some Hoorays opened up and the aliens plunged inside the hole filled with different sharpened iron pointed upward and were impaired to death.
At that instance, a trunk attached with sharp swords loomed closer and hit Hoorays on its way and pierced them to death.
A big cubic-shaped iron-cage descended from where it was set as a trap and caught ten Hoorays, then plummeted and smacked them In a hole filled with sharp weapons.
At the end of the sudden and unexpected attack that lasted for just ten minutes, all the Hoorays, except Horus were killed by the human traps and by the blade of the swords of the men who later plunged into their midst to slaughtered the wounded one, while Horus was seen carrying Maria on his back and escaping through a deserted route close to the warring area.
Zuri waited patiently until Horus came close, then he ordered his men to capture the fleeing alien and the lady on his back.
As hundred of men raced after Horus, he quickly dropped the lady on his back and raced for his life, but he was soon cornered and fought, so he fought back.
But at last, he fell fainted from exhaustion and everything became dark.
Zuri motioned to the man carrying Maria to walked close to him, he walked close to Horus, disarmed him of all his weapons and means of communication, and then ordered his men to tie him with a strong iron chain and they dragged him along.
"Maria is in Zuri's custody," Apollon777 observed.
"Hope this ends well." Brenda prayed.
The barrack's gang men rallied around their generally and sang the song of victory.
It was a great discovery to them to see the aliens who they believed were indestructible, to be just mere mortals, while in their veins and arteries flowed blood as well, though it was green and blue.
The inhabitants of Guara kingdom had by now completed their preparation for the incoming rainy season.
The bushes were cleared and ridges were made for tubers and other plants. As evening approached, clouds gathered in the West and soon covered the whole sky, and the Guara inhabitants instantly poured out the remaining waters in their reservoirs and placed them where they will be filled with rain from the sky.
Shortly later, a strong whirlwind erupted and removed the roof of a building, then placed it on top of another roofless building.
All the buckets and reservoirs placed outside were seen flying helter-skelters and they were pursued by debris thrown carelessly on the ground.
Several minutes later, the terrifying atmosphere suddenly became calmed and the shy sun emerged to brighten the world again.
"No rain today." One angry woman who walked all around in searched of her buckets carried off by the whirlwind mumbled in annoyance.
"Tomorrow is another day." Another woman replied.
