SEVERAL HEAD ARE BETTER THAN TWO
The column resumed their journey, the legions of dooms at the front, followed by Kira and Akira, while the rest of the column walked after Brenda, then the aliens at the rear of the whole column.
Horus hopped closer to Brenda, disconnect the speaker on his body, then winked at her to reduce her space for a private discussion. "Am sure you don't believe half of the tale I just narrated."
"Of course, I don't. Now tell me the truth."
"You are so transparent!" Horus exclaimed. "I can see your doubtful look when I was spinning my webs of lies."
"You aren't a perfect liar, Horus!" Brenda answered back with a grin. Am surprised others believed you!"
Horus smirked back. "I'm offered the control of the Africa region if I bring them the scepter."
"And what was your reply?"
"I accepted, or else they will be sending another officer who will attack humans with our bans weapon."
"You will need to fight me to get the scepter."
"We aren't fighting, I'm not delivering the scepter, but just need to fool all the Hoorays with me. They were listening to all our conversations, and I'm sure our king has spies among them."
"If that should be the case, then we must keep up with the pretense."
"Yes, make this a secret. As you know, walls have ears!"
"Aye! So what is the plan?"
"Can you get another lookalike scepter? I will give them to my clan, and send them on a goose chase."
"You are very shrewd Horus!" Brenda exclaimed.
"I will take that as a compliment," Horus answered back.
"And before they found out that you gave them the wrong scepter, we have already unleashed it."
"Yes," Horus answered back. "Keep stalling until we reach our destination, then agree to my demand and give me the lookalike scepter. It will be too late before they discovered it."
"Yes, but-" Brenda paused, then looked at the alien hopping beside her. "- you know what will happen when we unleash the scepter?"
"Yes, all of my clan will be annihilated. I knew its a suicide mission, and am doing this for Zuri."
"Thank you, Horus. You will always be remembered for your selfless service to humanity."
"Yes, for a while, then my memory will be erased like words written on desert land."
"Or remain forever like words engraved on gold, you can never tell what the future hold."
"Aye, no one can!"
"Thank you once again for saving us!"
"You are welcome, but what about the twins? They are dangerous and are waiting like a time bomb."
"I will think about them when the time arrives," Brenda answered back. Then fell silent as she think about how to clone the scepter.
Only the twins have the power to perform such a task in minutes, but the twins were unapproachable. luckily, they have one or two more days to stall, but the days were useless if no one can clone the scepter at the end.
"Do you have who can produce a fake scepter for my clan?" Horus asked, reading Brenda's mind.
"Only the twins can perform such task within the available time."
"Then let's seek their services."
"I'm afraid of involving the twins, they are opportunists and may take advantage of this."
"Never worry about them, their cunningness is next to mine."
"Let me seek Bobby's advice, and get back to you," Brenda answered back.
"Please do and get back to me."
"Aye!" Brenda jerked her horse and galloped faster, and soon reached Bobby's side.
She glanced back, grinned as Horus joined the Hoorays with him, then faced her front and signal Bobby to gallop close to her.
"Have been discussing with Horus, and he had explained why he had to cook such cock and bull story."
"What lies did he lie to cover his former lies?"
"He claimed the Hooray at his back was listening to him, that was why he need to lie, into convincing them."
"So what was his explanation?"
"He was promoted, then ordered to get the scepter, or humans will be attacked by their banned weapon."
"So he agreed?"
"Yes, now he wants us to produce a lookalike scepter, so he will give it to his clan and send them on the way, while he stays and put us in through."
"And before they realized what they have is fake?"
"We have already unleashed the scepter, and it will be too late for them to act."
"That's an amazing slyness!" Bobby exclaimed.
"Horus is, I bet that was why he was given the name!" Brenda exclaimed back.
"So the problem lies in duplicating the scepter?"
"Yes, except the twins, no one else seemed to possess the ability to do this in a short time."
"I don't trust the twins," Bobby said with an awful look.
"I don't as well, but we seemed to be out of choice here."
"We need another option, they will ask to have the scepter, and that would be the last time we will be seeing it," Bobby said, then whispered to Brenda as Dija and Augur galloped close to them. "Maybe one of them can help, or we find someone else. As for the twins, my answer is no. They are out of the option."
"I suggest we rest for the night at the next town we will be entering, then I will call a meeting of our trusted comrades and informed them of the situation on the ground."
"Good idea, several heads are better than two."
"Aye," Brenda answered back. Then tugged her horse lightly, and lead the way into the closest town to their destination.
The town they emerged into was deserted and almost ruined by various wars and conflicts. And finding a befitting place is like looking for needles in a haystack.
But at last, their searching was fruitful, and the column soon located places where they can rest their weary bones.
Brenda instantly places watches to look over the rest of the sleeping column for some hours, while the other section takes over. Then she secretly signaled those needed for the meeting that will determine the fate of the whole world.
Any mistake will not be only dangerous but fatal.
As for the legions of dooms and their leaders, they settled among the ruined section of the city, then stood and grunted, while Kira and Akira look for a passable house to relax.
But the matter at hand deprived the twins of their much-needed sleep, and they were seen in deep conversation.
"What are we going to do? They may give the scepter out." Akira let out with a fearful look.
"They won't, they don't believe him as well."
"Nevertheless, they may be cooking more mischief, we need to think fast and act faster. Delay is dangerous."
"Aye, I have been scratching my head in thinking of the way out," Akira announces with a puzzled look.
"I can't think of the way out. They are larger than us, and our warriors have no chance against their number, and besides, I quiver when I saw Dija and Augur."
"Have no fear my sister, we are the maker of our destiny, and not bounded by any prophecy." Kira let out, draw close to her sister, and held her in a close embrace.
"So what are we going to do?"
Kira paused for a while, she put her middle finger on her lips and seemed lost in thought, then quickly looked mischievously as she let out. "We will wait, then plunge into their midst when we have our chances and convert their gangs into our slaves."
"And before they were aware, we have already taken over their mobs, and they were now our slaves!" Akira exclaimed at her sister's sharp brain and wisdom.
"Yes, perhaps we may be able to convert some of their stronger men and women."
"Or Dija and Augur as well." Akira cried out at such possibilities.
"Or even Brenda and that handsome Bobby with her," Kira said.
"Hmmm, are you in love with Brenda's boyfriend?" Akira asked with a knowing grin.
"Yes," her sister answered back. "I always quiver at the thought of his hands on me."
"Then he will be saved for you," Akira said. She hugged her sister and both clung to each other for what seemed like an eternity.
Seoul spaceship soon entered the milky way, then flew into the planet earth.
"Find me the location of this Hooray," Seoul instructed the spaceship pilot. Then send Horus format into the pilot's gadget.
"Few minutes, Sir."
Seoul looked through the window of the spaceship and gaped at the dark world beneath.
Unlike when he left, the earth is now filled with different tall and magnificent buildings.
"Things have changed a lot within my short absence," Seoul announced with a bleak look.
"Horus is one thousand kilometers from us, and we will be there in an hour."
"Drop me close to him, I will be calling you to pick me up whenever am through, stay around," Seoul instructed the pilot, then look grimmer as the spaceship gets closer to the earth.
"Where are we?"
"We are in Africa, Nigeria precisely." The pilot answered back.
"Africa? It was scanty and unpopulated when I left!"
"We are not yet in the city and this is just their villages and townlet ."
"Amazing, humans seemed to be multiplying rapidly."
"I guess it's been a long since you left."
"Yes, I left some thousands of years ago," Seoul answered back.
"No wonder, humans have multiplied and now filled the whole earth. Their populations amazed us when we first arrived."
"Wonderful, I will be coming back as soon as am through with delivering the scepter. I need to see the whole earth."
"No problem sir, I will be happy to be your pilot.
