PRISONERS OF WAR

In truth, pains rise to think, while thinking brings about the wisdom that makes life more endurable. Yaris wholeheartedly agreed with this saying, as he whispered along with some Hoorays for a while. Shortly later, some of them walked off his sight, towards the hole they once emerged from, and hopped inside, then disappeared after.
A few minutes later, Yaris signaled to some of his warriors, authorized them to hop closer to the spots where the humans are located and asked for the presence of Brenda.
"Tell her one of my prisoners of war mentioned her name, and I guess she may want to save him."
Yaris grimaced as the Hooray left his sight, and whispered under his breath. "Let me divert their attention from my plan."
Ten Hoorays left the presence of their commander, hopped close to the human territory, and cried out from far.
"We asked for Brenda's presence."
"The aliens are here looking for Brenda." Maria jerked Bobby's sleeve and let out.
"Brenda, why?"
"I have no idea, look at them over there."
Bobby left the presence of the grumbling twins and their insane demands. He motioned at Maria to follow him, and both walked towards the awaiting aliens.
"How dare those twins to demand to be named the African leader?" Maria smirked, at the remembrance of Kira and Akira's demand.
"They were desperate, and will do anything to be in power."
"What are we going to do about them?"
"Let's agree with their term until the aliens were off. They were just like a banana's skin and need no blade to peel"
"They will throw the world into more dooms if given the chance," Maria mumbled.
Bobby nodded his head, as they get close to the aliens, and he asked after.
"Why seeking for Brenda's presence? She is busy at the moment."
"Our commander instructed us to inform her that she has a prisoner of war with us, and she can come forward to redeem his life." One among the Hoorays answered back.
"What is the prisoner's name?" Bobby asked.
"We have no idea."
"Male or female?"
"We have both with us, and have no idea which among them our commander is referring to."
"The looks like a trap." Maria let out.
"Our words are always the truth, and we have no falsehoods in us." The Hooray smirked back in annoyance.
"I don't think they were lying," Bobby whispered to the lady beside her, grinned back at the furious alien, and let out.
"Easy mate, you can't blame her for not trusting you, as I believe that you don't trust us as well."
"We don't trust you, but that won't turn us into liars."
"Tell your commander that Brenda is busy, and he can do whatever he like with the prisoners." Maria let out, in a scornful voice.
"Your response will be delivered, and-"
"Wait," Bobby cut into the hooray's speech, whispered at Maria, and shouted at the awaiting aliens who glare with green eyes at him.
"We will follow you down there."
"I will kill you if you dare waste my time." Yaris barked at the shivering man in his sight, and it takes all the patience in him to suppress the urge to remove his head and silence the whimpering forever.
"She knows me, just tell her is Reagan."
"Oh, you also have a name!" Yaris exclaimed in surprise. "I have already sent my warriors to notify her of your capture, and... Oh, here they come."
"Yes, that is Bobby, and oh... No!"
"Is her name not Brenda again?"
"That's not Brenda but my -"
"Your what?"
Reagan glared back at the piercing green eyes, and his mouth produces no sound.
Yaris scowled at the dumbfounded man, but his attention was distracted as his Hoorays hopped closer, and at their back, were two humans.
Maria saw Reagan first, and she instantly feel drowsy, and staggered, but was grabbed by Bobby who also saw the dejected man on the knees, at that moment.
"They have captured, Reagan." Maria wailed out.
"Is okay, we will save him."
"Who among you is Brenda? This young human over here claimed to know you." Yaris announced as soon as the humans came at hearing shots.
"Brenda is busy," Bobby answered back, signaling to Maria to stop her steps, and they both halted some miles away.
"Did you know Reagan or not?"
"Yes, we know him. He is one of our men." Bobby answered back.
"Is his life worthy enough to be exchanged for the scepter, or I should kill him now?"
"You dare lay a hand on him, and we will unleash the scepter., Bobby growled back.
"You will all be dead before your voices reached the other side of the rock, think twice before you answer my question again." Yaris barked back, leaped at Reagan's back, and a dazzling arrow suddenly appeared at his hand and was placed at the back of the kneeling man.
"Where is the person that will be unleashing the scepter hidden?"
Maria tried to breathe, but it seemed the whole atmosphere is now devoid of oxygen. Her head feels nothing and only one voice screamed in her mind. The love of her life is about to be slaughtered, and she can't do anything about it. Tears gathering in her eyes now flow freely, as the evil strange-looking alien, loll closer, peeked at her, and asked for the last time.
"I see he is important to you, where is the scepter?"
"At the -"
"Maria, no!" Reagan screamed from his kneeling position, he suddenly curl backward, and dipped his back, into the blade.
"I love you, Maria. Please -" the words in the mouth of the lovestruck man froze, as he burst into dark ashes.
"Reagan!"
"No!"
"You killed him." Maria tried to race toward Yaris but Bobby leaped forward, grabbed her by her waist, and dragged her off the alien's reach.
"I didn't. You were about to save him, but you hesitate," Yaris answered back, with a contemptuous grin.
"I won't forgive you for this!" Maria screamed back.
Yaris was about to answer back when his gadget rang, and he quickly ignores the crying lady, accepts the call, and a hissing voice from the other side of the line announced.
"We have seen the human that will be unleashing the scepter, what should we do now?"
"Killed him or her!"
