The four generals

Horus, Augur, and Dija galloped in front and were followed by Reagan, then the rest of the men in blue uniforms galloped at the rear end.
They soon reached the close border of Niger State and dwindled for a while about how to enter the sealed town, when one among the men in blue uniform came forward.
"I know the shortcut into the town and we should be able to penetrate inside if the bridge is still intact, or swim inside if otherwise." The man announced.
"Please lead the way," Dija begged back.
The man galloped beside the three pairs and the column resumed their journey, but soon halted after some minutes of galloping, when some gang of men galloped after them, then called out.
"Are you going into Niger state?" A man with a blue scarf over his neck shouted out.
"Yes," Dija replied, then asked. "How can we help you?"
"We are also going into the town but don't know the shortcut and the main road is blocked." The man replied.
You can come along, but galloped at the rear of our column." Dija replied.
"Thank you, we are so grateful for your kindness." The man replied with a wide grin. Motioned to the rest of the gang to galloped closer, then exclaimed as soon as they came near. "They know the shortcut and are allowing us to galloped along."
Roland and the ninety-nine men joined Reagan's column and they resumed their journey, reached inside the catchment village nearest to the main town, and then emerged at the back of the bridge that will lead them into the main town.
Far off, screams of men and whined of terrified horses enthralled the incomers and the flashes of iron against iron make them think twice.
"We can't just be joined into the fight without knowing the cause or who we are fighting against," Reagan said.
"I suggest we wait till daybreak, then we can decide the next step." Augur let out.
The man with the scarf that has earlier called out to them galloped close and asked, "are we camping here till daybreak?"
"Yes," Dija replied. "We can't enter into the fighting scene without knowing what lies ahead.
"It's a good decision, the man replied. "By the way, my name is Roland, and all these men were here to protect me back home."
Dija smiled at the young man's enthusiasm and was about to respond, but quickly refrained as the man resumed his speech.
"I was in the city when the change occurred, so my dad send men to seek me out and bring me back home, unfortunately, it took the men some days and lots of unforeseen circumstances."
"You will be home soon, to the delight of your caring father," Dija replied after a smile.
"Yes, and thanks to you." The young man replied. He looked sharply as four men, among his guards galloped closer. "This is my father's four generals, and they are here to make sure I reach home safely."
Dija grinned, then bowed at the four men on horse, then smiled at Roland and listened as the man resumed his speech.
"My father will pay you handsomely when I told him of your kindness." Roland let out.
"Unfortunately, we may not be following your town as we have not yet mapped our route out," Reagan replied.
"Whatever, he has unfathomable power, and am sure he will be of good help." The man with a scarf on his neck replied.
The whole column soon settled inside the bush nearby, while some tied their horses to a tree and climbed the branch then rest their back in the trunk and dozed off.
Except for some silhouettes gathering and muttering at the main road.
It was Dija, Augur, Horus, Roland, Reagan, and the four generals.
"I suggest we sneaked close to know what lies ahead, so we will not be caught in-between in case those men decided to retreat or other members of their gang joined them." One of the generals announced.
"It's a good idea, except Roland won't be among those set-out, and I will be here as well to protect him, and make sure he doesn't sneak along." The eldest and meanest looking among the four general replied.
Roland tried to protest but the stern look of the man halted his tantrums and he sulk for a while.
"And Reagan doesn't look like someone that can handle a weapon. " Dija let out.
"Em... I will stay if you insist." Reagan replied, looking sharply as sparkles of irons against iron flashed in the night, and he smirked. "I don't think I can go along with you, not tonight."
"Then others should go now." Horus let out.
The men and the alien walked close to the warring scene. Silence engulfed their environment for a while, then more screaming from men, and was soon followed by another silence.
They soon reached a big river, and they all plunged inside and swim to the other side, then resumed their journey, walked for some minutes, then halted and quickly hide inside the bush.
Some miles off, two men raced towards them, one in defeat, the other in pursuit.
"Did you know anyone among them?" Horus asked the humans beside her.
"The one running for his life is a jihadist due to his mode of dressing, while the other man in military uniform is from another unknown gang." One among the three general said.
"The jihadists control this region and are the antagonist." The second general explained further.
"So our common enemy is the man running towards us?" Horus asked.
"I guess that's what they mean," Dija replied.
"Yes." The first general answered in a whisper as the retreating jihadist came closer. He suddenly leaped out of his hidden and struck at the man's head as he raced close.
The speed and suddenness of the man surprised the whole column, but not the other two of his general who are already familiar with his prowess, speed, and surprise.
The man pursuing stopped as some men came out of the bush and one of them hacked his opponent and removed his head with a stroke of the sword.
His sanity screamed at him to turn and flee, yet, the fact the men had killed his enemy, made him think twice before racing off to the safety of his people. Then his eyes fell on the alien beside them, his puzzled face turned grimly and he screamed out. "I know you, you once betray us and fly off back to your base after drugging us."
At that moment, the alarm to retreat sounded far off, the man veer around and raced back towards his gang.
"After him", Horus cried out.
The alien's assassins sneaked close to the camps of sleeping men. They peered noiselessly around for while, then out of the bush when their target was not seen.
"He was here and will be around." One among the four aliens announced.
They perked up at the raging war going on and hopped closer.
"Horus will be dead tonight." The leader of the assassin aliens from the correctional department announced, and his announcement was well-received by his comrades.
Risha saw the aliens as they hopped towards the warring zone, and knew they were after Horus. "God save you." She muttered aloud, raced to a tied horse, loosed it, and galloped after the hopping aliens. "I need to warn Horus." Risha let out, jerked her horse harder, and plunged into the twilight.
When Brenda woke up, she felt dizzy for a while and leaned on her shoulder then vomited some green content out of her body. A big plaster was perfectly placed over her deep head gash, Brenda touched it, looked around, and grinned at the concerned face of Apollon777.
"I thought we lost you," Apollon777 said after some deep breaths. "You scare us."
"I'm a fighter and won't give up until the world is saved," Brenda replied. She tried to stand on her feet, swoon left, and was quickly assisted by Apollon777 who rushed and hold her by her waist. Then gently laid her back on the ground.
"You aren't strong enough yet," Apollon777 said. He picked up a bag beside him, searched inside, and brought out a sachet of powder glucose, then mixed it with a liquid content he brought out from the pouch attached to his stomach. "This will give you strength and appetite to eat."
He left the lady in the care of twenty men and went in search of Bobby.
"Brenda has woken." Apollon777 smiled out with happiness at the sight of Bobby who at the hearing of such great news hacked the big man squatting in his front to pieces.
"These men aren't retreating," Bobby replied.
"They are many, and we would have been overwhelmed if not for the blockage of the vehicles on the highway." Maria who just came close announced.
"We can retreat since Brenda is awake, it will be difficult for them to pursue us on the leg, and we would have disappeared before they were able to clear all this blockage." Apollon777 let out.
Maria, at the hearing of Brenda's health, jumped up with happiness. She had once saved the owner of this body, and without her, Ruana won't be able to access and dominate. This is the main reason she had prayed for her survival and would have been shattered if otherwise.
"Give the signal to retreat," Apollon informed Bobby, who at that instant blew a horn given to him by a man in uniform.
