CREATING A PORTAL
"Unfortunately, am out of ideas," Akira replied to her sister's positive response.
"Let's create a portal and send some of the of them into a faraway land," Kira announced.
Akira smiled for a moment at her sister's ingenuity. Creating a portal and sending some among the aliens over there seemed to be the only perfect solution.
"They will be stranded there for twenty-four hours, and before they are back-"
"- We are gone!" Akira exclaimed.
"There is always a way for someone who has a destination," Kira answered back.
"Aye! Sometimes we are blinded by the magnitude of our problem and failed to see the solution, even if it stands staring at our face." Her sister said.
"That's some of the demerits of fear, it clouds humans' reasoning and makes them believe they are helpless."
"We aren't humans and shouldn't be ruled by their weaknesses," Akira replied.
"Aye! Let's send them into a strange environment and get them stranded over there for twenty-four hours."
"Yes, let's show them we have the supreme power over the earth!"
The creation of a portal was believed to require special portal knowledge, but it had been proved that it can be created by anybody that can create wondrous items.
However, having prior knowledge will reduce the cost by half.
Creating portals requires one of the following spells; teleport, greater teleport, teleportation circle or gate, and a costly process.
A standard portal can be created within a radius of three meters( ten feet). Or a minimum radius of six inches(fifteen centimeters.)
When creating a portal, the creator must have been at the destination at least once, and it had to be reachable via the astral plane. This is the general rule of teleportation spells.
Portal magic is very durable, but subject to and can be affected by magical catastrophes and when this happens, malfunctions occurred. However, the portal most time worked perfectly and it can also be stabilized by a special spell, called the stabilization spell, or by applying special effect stabilization skills.
To critics and those that don't believe in the authenticity of this art, portals were created by a lot of people during Toril's history.
Due to the durable nature of this magic, Toril's have portals in hundreds by 1372 DR. Unfortunately the purpose and usage instructions went lost over time, alongside their creators. Therefore, they are considered dangerous, mysterious, and unpredictable.
But not to the twins, who had learned it in one of their reincarnations during the time it went rampant.
The portal created by the twins is called a keyed portal. It simply means the users have to meet specific qualifications before it can be used, like being a member of a specific race or one that needed to be met otherwise like a specific time. It was intentionally created to send the aliens into the Amazon forest for twenty-four hours.
"Where is your magic wand?" Kira inquired from her sister, as both twins stood before a drawn pentagram picture on the ground.
"Here it is." Her sister replied. Then brought out a small, white-painted, wooden staff.
"We summoned the power in the pentagram!" Kira cried out.
"And the powers that control this third dimension."
"Of fire and water and sand!"
"Of air and iron, been the last but not the least!" Akira let out.
The twins waved the wands in their hands and a sudden spark of circled fire started growing until it became so huge and dazzle brightly in the twilight that mostly comes before darkness.
"Why are they halting and not marching closer?" Geisha asked himself, he looked around and then smirked as no Hoorays around him offered no reply.
"Damn you all, I need to know what's going on at their camp."
Geisha stood in deep thought for a while, then pointed at ten Hoorays before him and ordered. "Sneak close to their camp and see if you can find out what's going on and why that big sparkles of light.
The ten selected Hoorays nodded their heads in response, then sneaked close to the legion of dooms camp that was set up ten kilometers apart.
"Those humans are up to mischief and needed to be investigated as soon as possible!" Geisha exclaimed, then walked close to his gadget and peered at it.
The clear picture of the approaching aliens and their environment shows brightly on the screen of the gadget in front of Geisha.
The three generals galloped closer and then halted a few meters from the jihadist mob.
The grey-hair general was in the middle, and he gazed at the commander-general for a while, then muttered out.
"It's been a while, my aged friend."
The commander-general glared at the three men in front of him, a evil smile instantly cropped over his face and he looked uglier at that moment. "Time may delay, but we shall meet again! is that not the ancient saying?"
"Yes, my friend. What about the saying of letting a sleeping dog lie or forgetting the past to enjoy the future?"
"Damn such cowardly saying," the commander-general yelled back. "Your boss was a bile in a chunk of the jihadists." The man peered at the fourth horse that galloped from the mobs far off and raced closer. "I can see that you have his heir with you."
"Leave him out of this!" The grey hair general barked out.
"Unfortunately, I can't," the commander-general answered back. "Your boss has murdered my only heir and now it's payback."
"This happened a long time ago, and a lot has occurred since then," the grey hair general let out. "I apologize on his behalf and I want you to forget the past, ally with us, and let's fight against the invading aliens."
"Forgive my foot!" The commander-general growled back. "I will make a deal with you, hand over his heir and I will let you pass with the rest of the entourage.
Roland at the hearing of the commander general's statement looked stunned for a moment, he quickly glared at the faces of his father's general, then smirked at the way the grey hair general peeked at him.
"I will be happy to give him up, except he was the reason we went out, and have lost a lot of men before we brought him to this place." The grey hair general answered back.
"Oh... Oh, I see, the dog knows how to feed its puppies but keeps attacking the rodent's young ones!" The commander-general smirked back. "I will only have this boy, or my jihadists will attack you all."
"Think twice before you make your final decision, my friend. My boss is known for his ruthlessness and you will soon be a dead man when I reported your threat to him."
"Threatening?" The commander-general glared with a bemused smile. "You think am threatening you or him? No, my friend." He shake his head thrice, then peered at the men before him and resumed his speech. "Before tonight, I will have all your heads on a spike and I will send your boss's son's head to him tomorrow morning."
"If that was your final decision, then the battle line is drawn and we shall soon meet on the battlefield." The grey hair general answered back, veered his horse, and galloped off, and he was followed by Roland and the two generals at his back.
"I warned you not to come closer, and was tempted to give you up for your stupidity."
"Is that why you glared at me with hatred when he asked for me?"
"Yes," then the man muttered back, "and I may soon change my mind if you don't keep that smirked off your face now!"
"So sorry, boss," Roland replied, after rolling his big eyes for a while.
The grey hair general reduced his speed, then uttered as his two comrades as they galloped closer. "As soon as we clashed with them, I want you two to break through their barricade and galloped as fast as your horses can speed to inform our boss of this."
"Good idea," one among them answered back.
"We will soon be back with enough men and attacked them from the rear." The other general let out.
"Fifty men will cover your exist and prompt your escape." The general said. "Good things we have the lady and her mobs of humans and aliens with us.
"Bad decision so far," Apollon777 raged at the report given by the generals who went to talk with the commander-general of the jihadists. "We should have gone with the legion of dooms."
"Unfortunately we didn't, why moan about the past?" Horus asked with mischief and glared at Apollon777. His murmuring since his idea of following the twins was overrule had now gotten over his nerves and he need to caution the jabbering alien.
"Keep your mouth shut, and don't dare look at me like that?" Apollon777 yelled back, leaped off his horse, and walked close to Horus.
"Please stop all this and let's talk about the way out," Brenda screamed at the two makers. "We are here, what's the way out?"
"We will wait for them to attack, while we prepare and pretend as if we are attacking them at any moment. This will delay them, give us more time, then we will be able to defend and counterattack, because of our height and position."
"Easier said than done!" Apollon777 glared back.
"Then bring your damn idea!" Horus yelled at him.
