Chapter 105
Outside the door, James greeted David with a teasing grin. "David, what did you do in there? Didn't know you have a wild side..." But he quickly shut up.
In the living room, Seraphina handed David a bowl of snacks. "David, I know you're anxious, but you gotta take it slow, like tending to a flower. Don't rush it. Once a week is enough," she whispered, like she was sharing a secret.
David looked puzzled. He sat down to munch on the snacks with Alice, thinking about Seraphina's advice. He always thought it was fine to do it one more time when it felt right, but now he was curious about Alice's idea.
"How do you feel?" David asked.
"What?" Alice looked confused.
"Are you comfortable or not?" David asked again.
Comfortable? For Alice, that word was a joke. It started okay, but then it turned into pure torture. "Not comfortable at all!" she said seriously.
David's face darkened. "You don't plan to do this every day, do you?" Alice looked at him with curiosity and concern, "You can't handle it either."
David's eyes were intense. "Are you doubting me?"
Sensing the danger, Alice quickly shook her head. This reaction had become a habit when facing David, especially when he seemed about to get angry. "That's not what I meant. So, what's your plan?"
David smiled, leaned in close to her ear, and said, "Just like now, it's perfect." Then he gave her a gentle kiss.
The next morning, Gavin took Lucas back to the nursing home, while David brought Alice back to the villa. With no classes today, Alice decided to be lazy at home. After David dropped her off, he changed clothes and rushed to work.
Alice decided to lie down for a bit before the servants arrived. Just as she was about to fall asleep, the doorbell rang. She frowned and pulled the blanket over her head. However, the doorbell kept ringing, forcing her to drag herself up to answer the door.
Wearing slippers, Alice looked annoyed. As soon as she opened the door, she was stunned by the person standing outside.
Lila quickly tidied her hair and gave an awkward smile. "Sorry, I didn't expect you to open the door... Did I wake you? I'm sorry."
Alice pursed her lips and impatiently asked, "Are you looking for David?"
"Yes," Lila nodded, secretly observing Alice's reaction. To her surprise, Alice showed no signs of jealousy and even invited her in. Was she trying to show off her status in this villa?
Lila composed herself and entered the house. With only Alice at home, she casually poured a glass of water for Lila and then lazily lay on the sofa, hugging a pillow.
"What do you need David for?" Alice asked.
"Personal matters," Lila smiled.
"Great, what personal matters need to be discussed at home so early in the morning?" Alice yawned lazily, her eyes half-closed. "David has already gone to work. If you need to discuss personal matters, you should go to his office."
But Lila showed no intention of leaving, and the living room fell silent.
Just as Alice was about to turn her head to look at her, Lila suddenly spoke, "I met David in our freshman year."
Hearing this, Alice was stunned. Then, Lila slowly recounted her past with David, "Back then, he was smart, handsome, but aloof. Many people pursued him, but he rejected them all."
"We naturally got together without anyone confessing. We just became a couple. Sometimes, a single glance was enough for him to understand what I was thinking, and so did I." Lila said, her mouth curling into a smile, seemingly lost in beautiful memories.
"Until our senior year, we agreed to tell our parents after graduation and even bought an apartment. But then I got sick and had to go abroad for treatment. To not hold him back, I chose to leave quietly." A hint of bitterness flashed in Lila's eyes.
Hearing this, Alice propped her chin and looked at Lila, feeling a mix of emotions. "Are you asking me to explain to David for you? To get back together with him?"
"No!" Lila immediately shook her head, "I just want you to know that I didn't mean to abandon David back then. Because he knows the car accident was related to me, he has a grudge against me."
Alice felt like she wanted to kick David's ass!
