Chapter 116
'Could it be that Mr. Williams wants to look for women?' The manager quickly brushed off the thought. Dylan was super picky and didn't think much of most of the women here. But sometimes, to keep up appearances, he'd call a few girls to entertain other guests. It happened pretty often.
The second son of the Tudor family? No way! Everyone knew he was a stand-up guy, and there were never any shady women around him, except for the one in front of him now.
Ruling out those two, the manager's mind landed on Wesley, a guest from last time. He wasn't a big name in the circle, but if he was hanging out with Dylan and David, he had to be loaded.
Was Alice picking a companion for Wesley? As he thought this, The manager gave Alice a knowing look.
Could it be that Alice wasn't David's girlfriend but Wesley's? Then why did she come with David that day? Was she playing both sides?
The manager suddenly felt like it all made sense... The Tudor family wasn't someone you messed with lightly. Wesley might have thought the same, so even if he knew Alice was two-timing, he had to suck it up and take his anger out on Dylan.
Thinking this, the manager understood why the two had a big fight that day and almost threw punches.
Alice had no clue about the manager's wild theories.
Soon, the waiter brought in a new batch of girls.
The manager signaled the waiter to close the door to avoid any daytime police raids; most guests looked for company at night anyway.
"Ms. Bailey, these are the new girls. Take a look."
Alice glanced up.
The girls lined up were nervous and uneasy, some clinging to the person next to them, biting their lips, while others forced smiles to seem calm.
"Just these few?" Alice was a bit let down. "Do you have a catalog?"
"We do..." The manager hesitated, "Do you want to see it?"
Alice nodded.
The manager hesitated for a moment, thinking she might be David's woman, and had the waiter bring the catalog.
Alice flipped through it, noting yesterday's date, showing the number of people matched those in the private room.
No Ophelia. Even though Alice was prepared, she still felt a bit disappointed.
"I'm outta here." Alice handed the catalog back to the manager and got up to leave.
The manager was stunned. She just left like that without picking any of them for Wesley?
Alice walked out, ready to text David to tell him not to come. Just as she reached the corner of the lobby, she suddenly heard a loud slap from a slightly open door, followed by a rough curse.
"I spent ten grand on you, and this is your attitude?"
The manager came out, smiling awkwardly as he walked up to close the door. "Sorry, please excuse us."
"Get away! Don't touch me, don't touch me!"
Alice was taken aback.
As the door was about to close, Alice walked over and held it open.
The manager's mouth twitched, confused. "Ms. Bailey?"
Alice shoved her phone into the manager's hand, pushed the door open, and said, "Tell David my location, and don't let anyone in. Thanks."
Without waiting for the manager to react, she closed the door behind her with her back to him.
The manager stared at the name "David" on the phone screen; cold sweat suddenly appeared on his forehead.
Inside the room, the lights suddenly came on. The man, with his pants half off, saw a woman come in and immediately changed his demeanor, rubbing his hands as he approached. "Where'd this beauty come from? How'd you get in? I'm busy right now. How about you wait a moment? Or we can play together?"
Alice walked over to the woman pinned on the sofa. Her face was swollen on one side, and her clothes were a mess.
Ophelia was stunned, her eyes wide with disbelief, like she couldn't believe Alice was actually here.
Alice walked up to the man and pointed at Ophelia, asking casually, "You bought her?"
The man smirked, "Yeah, I spent ten grand on her, but she's not as pretty as you. Not really worth it."
Alice asked, "Where'd you buy her?"
The man laughed. "At the Golden Palace, of course!"
The manager outside the door felt his heart drop. He finally realized Alice was looking for someone, and that someone was a girl they had just bought!
Alice glanced at the table and muttered, "No bottles, what a shame."
"What did you say?" The man leaned in to ask.
"I said..." Alice slowly raised her hand and smiled, "You must have a death wish!"
For the next while, the manager stood numbly by the door, listening to the sounds of things being smashed inside. He silently calculated the compensation fees with his fingers, only to be interrupted by the harrowing screams that followed. At that moment, he decided the compensation fees didn't matter anymore.
He figured if he crossed Alice, her two boyfriends would definitely come to her defense, and he was no match for them.
David arrived at the Golden Palace twenty minutes later.
Seeing David come in, the manager quickly ran up and respectfully handed over Alice's phone.
David took the phone and asked, "Where is she?"
The manager, finding it hard to speak, pointed to the room at the corner of the first floor and sighed. "Mr. Tudor, please follow me."
The manager slowly pushed open the door to the room. First, he saw an unrecognizable face. Then, looking up, he saw Alice standing aside and Ophelia crying on the sofa, wearing Alice's coat.
Alice had her hands behind her back, and when she saw David, she avoided his gaze.
David pursed his lips, stepped over the person on the floor, glanced at Ophelia, and asked Alice in a low voice, "Is this the trouble you mentioned?"
David lowered his eyes, grabbed Alice's arm, and pulled her hand from behind her back.
One of her hands was fine, but the other was swollen and red, in stark contrast.
David blew on it and sighed, "Alright, darling, I'm here to save the day."
The police quickly caught the suspect at the train station. During the escort, they received a call from a concerned citizen saying that the missing Ophelia had been found at the Golden Palace.
The police immediately looked at the suspect with even more disdain.
How could they not know what kind of place the Golden Palace was?
The police escorted the suspect into the Golden Palace and heard a heated argument from afar. A man in a suit, with meticulously combed hair, was pointing at David and cursing loudly, "David! Did I offend you? Why are you ruining my business? Does the Tudor family plan to get into this kind of business too?"
David didn't even glance at him directly. He held an ice pack against Alice's swollen knuckles. The manager, standing nearby, handed Ophelia an ice pack for her face.
Ophelia clutched the coat tightly, pressing the ice pack to her swollen face, her eyes involuntarily drawn to David's figure. His broad back gave her an invisible sense of security, but the sad truth was that this sense of security would never belong to her.
"Bitch! Did you call the police?" A rough roar suddenly erupted, causing Ophelia to tremble and her face to turn pale instantly.
