Chapter 111
Esme was at a loss for words for a moment and gave an awkward smile. "Alright, you won."
She then glanced up at the fancy hall, squinted her eyes, and looked back at Alice. "What are you doing in a place like this? Looking for a gigolo?"
Alice was speechless and led them upstairs. They followed Alice to the third floor. When they saw the three relaxed guys sitting on the sofa, Simon was stunned, and Esme's expression instantly turned sour. Two of the guys on the sofa were people she couldn't stand, and the other was a stranger.
When Alice and the others arrived, Dylan had already ordered food, which the waiter had brought up. The table was loaded with all kinds of delicious stuff and fruit wine, which was sweet with a hint of sourness and had very low alcohol content. David suggested everyone try it. Although Dylan thought it wasn't a great idea, he went along with it and sipped a little.
"It tastes pretty good," Wesley commented, "Not easy to get drunk on this."
Dylan frowned and said, "Even if it's fruit wine, it's still alcohol. After drinking, you'll need a designated driver to get you home. Watch out for the cops."
David said flatly, "This wine isn't very good."
Dylan and Wesley were both puzzled. "Why?"
David put down his glass, glanced at Dylan, and didn't say anything. Instead, he took out his phone to text Alice to ask when she would come up. Just as he took out his phone, Alice walked in with Esme and Simon.
David got up and walked straight to Alice, pulling her away from Esme.
Esme reached out too slowly, and Alice brushed past her. Esme's face looked even worse.
Simon looked at Esme, then at David, and finally at Alice. He struggled internally for a few seconds and decided to walk around them and sit next to Dylan, picking up a chicken leg from the table and starting to eat.
Dylan said discontentedly, "Didn't your servant make you dinner?"
Simon, chewing on the chicken leg, mumbled, "I didn't go home for dinner. I went to the internet bar to make a 'dark deal.'"
Wesley, not interested in the other side's affairs, was intrigued by Simon's words. "What dark deal? Kid, what are you up to?"
Simon immediately got agitated. "Who are you calling kid?"
Over there, David smiled politely. "Ms. Garcia."
Esme, not willing to show weakness, smiled brightly. "Mr. Tudor."
Alice, caught in the middle, rolled her eyes.
A minute later, everyone was sitting around the sofa, with a soft carpet on the floor. Simon sat on the carpet without hesitation, and Esme, feeling a bit hungry, also sat down and started eating beef cross-legged.
Dylan leaned against the sofa, looking at Esme with disdain. No matter how he looked at her, he found her more annoying than Alice.
Esme noticed his gaze and provocatively asked, "What are you staring at?"
Dylan sneered, downed his glass of fruit wine in one go, and shot back, "I'm looking at your chest, so what?"
Everyone around looked at Dylan in disbelief.
Wesley nudged Dylan's arm and warned in a low voice, "Are you drunk? That's sexual harassment!"
Dylan lowered his voice and responded, "I don't know why, but I just can't stand this college girl. She's been arrogant since the first time we met!"
Esme smirked and asked, "So, do you think it looks good? Do you like it?"
Alice leaned numbly against David's shoulder, silently munching on fries. She knew Esme's verbal skills well; she had never lost an argument with Celeste or Clara.
At this moment, David leaned close to her ear, his warm breath on her neck. "Did I make her angry?"
Alice turned her head and whispered in his ear, "What do you think?"
David squinted his eyes with a smile. "What a pity! I only coax you."
Alice suddenly sensed the malice deep within David.
Seeing Dylan's uncomfortable expression, Esme felt much better and deliberately got close to Simon, affectionately putting her arm around his shoulder. Dylan's eyes widened, and if Wesley hadn't held him back, he might have thrown her out regardless.
"What's wrong with you?" Simon, who was usually cold to other girls, realized he liked Alice but hadn't even started before it was over. Thinking of this, Simon sniffed and felt a bit sad.
Esme curiously asked, "What kind of girls do you like?"
Simon was stunned and instinctively looked at Alice. David caught his gaze, squinted dangerously, and looked at Dylan.
Dylan shivered, kicked Simon, and gruffly said, "Bastard, who are you looking at?"
Simon withdrew his gaze, rolled his eyes at Dylan, and silently mouthed, 'Coward.'
Simon looked at Esme in confusion, asking, "Why are you asking me this? Do you like me?"
Simon wasn't very interested in many things and didn't have many friends. He looked very well-behaved.
Esme was momentarily at a loss for words. "Can't you ask more tactfully? After all, I'm a girl."
Alice watched the two of them bickering, the corners of her mouth lifting as she put her empty plate back on the table.
"Do you want to eat anything else?" David, who hadn't said much, watched Alice with interest as she watched Simon and Esme. He found it interesting to see her eating so heartily and, seeing that she had finished a plate of fries, thought she might be hungry.
Alice glanced meaningfully at the wine glass in David's hand.
David shook the wine glass in his hand, his eyes smiling as he looked at Alice. "Do you remember the last time you got drunk and made a fool of yourself? Aren't you afraid of doing it again?"
