Killian, the guard and I went straight to the eye of the storm.
We left the palace. Like the guard had reported earlier, there was an army surrounding the palace.
The moment we came out, all eyes fell on us. Majority of the burning eyesight on us came from the strange army before us.
Their faces didn't look friendly.
“King Killian, let Jelena and her father go.” A man stepped out of the army and said.
Killian chucked, “I should let them go? Do you think this is a daydream? If I refuse to let them go, what would you do?”
“King Killian, I assure you that you don't want to know what I am going to do if you refuse to comply. It is better to tone the excessive aggression down and do the needful.” The man at the lead of the strange army said.
“I think you should do your worst. I don't know if you forgot that I am the King of this world. No one, except God himself can tell me what to do.” Killian raised a brow.
“Your majesty, we won't say it the third time. Let the captives in your hands go and things would be fine.” The terrorist army threatened.
“Enough chit chat. If you are here to fight, let's do so. If you are not here to fight, it would be better for me to return to my bed and wife.” Killian’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
“Your majesty, don't rush to give us a reply we don't want. Don't let the fact that you are on the throne fool you. You are nothing without the people.” The man leading the strange army threatened.
Killian didn't try to give the person opposite us a reply anymore. His fingers formed a gesture.
Before I could blink, the royal guards and the army from earlier started to surround the strange army.
The unseen weight on my shoulder dissipated.
It was great to have someone I could rely on.
One part of me knew that with Killian here, nothing unexpected would happen.
