Chapter 170

Chapter 170

Killian

I came down from the hovercraft and waited. I didn't wait for too long. A few minutes after I came down from the hovercraft, footsteps sounded.

My eyes stopped wandering and it focused on the direction of the noise. A man was approaching me. He was wearing a black robe.

This robe had a hood that covered his facial expression. Thin strands of green hair peeked from the hood.

Although I was impatient, I made sure I looked calm on the surface.

My eyes flashed with an unknown meaning.

The area around us was silent. Apart from the person approaching my position and me, nobody else was around.

The person approaching me didn't walk over to where I stood. He covered half of the distance before stopping.

King Killian." A gruff voice came from under the black hood.

The voice didn't sound like it was natural. I think this person before me might be using a voice changer or something similar.

I straightened up, "Yes?"

"Did you bring what I asked you to bring? And, did you follow the conditions I set? Without your cooperation, I would not be able to hold up my end of the deal." The green haired stranger said.

I nodded, "Don't worry, I brought everything that is needed. I hope you kept your part of the deal."

The new arrival shook his head, "Your majesty, you are not the one that should be making demands. I am the one that should be giving demands."

I felt like I could sense a strange flee threaded through his tone.

A dark light flashed through my eyes.

It seems this person was happy that he had a way to control the current ruling king of this world.

Suddenly, a scent drifted towards me. My nose twitched as I sniffed carefully.

A few moments passed by. I discovered what the scent was all about.

It was a drug that could interfere with the use of supernatural powers.

After that scheme against Edna and I at the party in the palace, I became sensitive to things like strange scents.

Attacking using scents had proven to be effective. I would not let what had happened in that ritualistic party happen again.

It seemed the mastermind had a plan in place like Edna and I had suspected.

Unfortunately for this person before me, the drug had minimum effect on me even when it filled my surroundings.

I was a bit happy that this was the plan the mastermind went with. I thought the plan that would keep me in check was going to be something dangerous.

I added another black star to the mastermind's record.

I opened my hovercraft and took the box that I had brought with me out.

I placed the box on the ground. Then, I kicked it.

The box moved towards the guy with green hair rapidly. It went forward in a straight line.

I had timed the force very well. The box didn't hit the man in the black hood. It stopped in front of him directly.

The man chuckled before squatting to open the box.

After his eyes scanned through the contents of the box, he smiled.

He closed the box and straightened his figure.

I forced sweat to come out of my skin. The strands of hair closer to my forehead clung to my skin. I tried my best to make sure I looked like I was in a tight spot.

This person thinks the substance he intended to weaken me with would make sure he escapes successfully. I was glad to prove him wrong.

I looked up at him, "Now, it is time for you to give me the antidote you promised."

"Although I have heard of the love and favor you have for the human woman by your side, it is still a wonder to see it up close. Anyways, you are going to get the antidote after I leave." The green haired robes man said.

My eyes changed, "This is not what our deal is about. We were supposed to exchange resources. If I find out that you lied after you leave, how would I get another antidote?"

The man shrugged, "That is on you. You have to trust me. Or do you intend to take this box you gave me away?"

The last sentence was said in a darker tone.

I could see that this man was prepared to make his getaway.

Unfortunately, I was not going to let him go.

After putting the issues between us aside, I was scared to let someone as dangerous as this escape.

Whether he is behind this new diseases outbreak didn't matter. The way he targeted Edna showed me that his sense of morality wasn't reliable.

He was obsessed with benefits.

This kind of person can cause harm in the future.

I would not let a loose end like this go.

"Give me the antidote now." I said.

I started taking steps towards the man. I tried to make my movements shaky and I pretended like I was trying to hide those shaky movements.
