Chapter 199

Chapter 199
Edna
Two people were at the forefront of the group. One of them was a woman with white hair. This woman was wearing a sleek white two piece suit that flattered her figure. Miranda was one step behind her.

I knew who the woman in white was. Her name is Ga.

Humans are multicultural so her name wasn't that strange. The new human government didn't use the normal presidential elections to select who would lead the remnants of the human race.

Things were more complicated now. Instead of electing a president, a board of elders from different parts of the human race were at the pinnacle of power. Ga was one of those elders.

The man beside her was also an elder. His sleek black hair gleamed.

Humans weren't the only people in the new group that arrived. Aliens were among the crowd.

Some of the aliens had an air of authority around them.

This air of authority fed my suspicion. These authoritative aliens might the leaders of the group that wanted to eliminate Killian.

"I thought you guys are going to keep hiding in your little holes." I said.

"Funny. Haha." Ga said with an expressionless face, "I have heard plenty stories about you, Edna."

"So the stories you heard didn't warn you about scheming against me? Is the warning I gave to the human race a joke? Just because of your greed, you were willing to assassinate me and my partner." I said.

"There is nothing wrong with fighting for the interests of my race. Survival is for the fittest." Ga said.

Although there was some truth in what she said, humans were wrong in this matter.

Someone gave them a place to stay but the next thought that crossed their minds was to eliminate the person because of unsatisfaction.

Killian gave them a place to stay. He didn't have to but he did. That was a commendable thing. I don't know why my fellow humans couldn't wrap their heads around this fact.

I didn't want to waste words with the people before me. Besides, the suspicion that they were delaying time because of some grand plan cropped up.

It was better to take care of things as soon as possible. I don't want things to go out of control.

"Let's wrap things up." I mouthed to Killian .

He nodded and he raised his hand to form a signal. The imperial guards around us launched into action immediately.

The two groups clashed fiercely.

Killian and I weren't idle. We picked our opponents and fought. Time seemed to move slower.

I don't know how long I have been fighting. My body was littered with wounds but I could still fight.

Many opponents had died in my hands. My eyes swept the battlefield.

The group consisting of traitorous humans and aliens had dwindled.

The traitorous group was losing.

Ga's white suit was covered with all kinds of bloodstains. The most prominent one was the red blood staining her hip and shoulder. Dust and dirt colored her white clothes grey.

From this whole battle, I could see that this group that wanted to go against Killian's rule didn't prepare enough.

When I was heading to this laboratory, I thought an elaborate trap would be waiting for me and my group. Now, the assassination that happened earlier was starting to look like a small test that didn't go as they had hoped.
