Chapter 174

Chapter 174
Killian
One trick that has a high chance of working when interrogating prisoners or confronting opponents psychologically is when you show them that their actions, answers and more isn't a compulsory thing to have for me.

Using this trick, my opponents would be the one that would be desperate instead of me doing the honors.

Since I still have another prisoner that was accomplice to this green haired man, I was truly not in an hurry to get his answer.

Besides, I haven't really tortured him to my satisfaction yet. Edna was still sick and like I promised before, he was going to pay for that.

"This whole thing started a few weeks ago. The name of the other guy that your people caught is Dean. He found something while fishing. It was a piece of ice that refused to melt. Something was in the ice. He thought he found a treasure so he brought it to me." The green haired man started talking.

Sweat dripped from his soaked hair. The tiny sound the sweat drops made mixed with the noise of his labored breathing to form a subtle background noise.

"Continue." I prompted.

"We tried all the ways we could to melt the ice block but it didn't work. After a few days passed by, the ice block started to melt away on its own. The thing inside the ice block was a piece of flesh. The flesh looked like it was a residue from a cremated burial." The green haired man took a breath in before continuing his explanation.

I didn't say anything. I silently encouraged my prisoner to continue.

"Since this is a strange thing that we haven't encountered before, we were extremely careful when handling it. I bought a pet and fed a piece of the flesh to it. Nothing was wrong with the pet at first. Then, it started to exhibit some symptoms that later led to its death. The test we conducted with the pet wasn't enough for me. I managed to expose a group of people to the flesh through various ways." He said.

One of my eyebrows rose, "So, you are the one behind the strange new disease affecting my people."

My words weren't worded in the format of a question.

Anger wrapped its tendrils around my heart but I tried my best to keep it from showing on my face.

It was not like I have a reputation to uphold in front of this prisoner. I just wanted to keep my fury under wraps for now.

If this idiot hadn't decided to test what this strange flesh could do on normal people, the people that got sick wouldn't have fallen sick and Edna would not have contracted the disease too.

What he had to answer for was increasing.

The green haired man paused.

A lengthy silence broke out.

I didn't encourage him to go on. My fingers just pressed the hand that had being penetrated by the nails.

The pain that was generated by my actions made him shudder.

He breathed heavily.

"Then an idea came to me. I felt like this flesh was giving us an opportunity to make money." He said, "I have heard of the way you love and pamper the human lady by your side so she became my target."
