Chapter 183
Edna
Time flew by. Soon, I had video called all the members of the exploration team I was part of. The only exception was Habiba.
Fortunately, Killian kept the words I said to him in mind. Habiba's name wasn't even on the list that was on the app interface.
Gianna, Bryant, Turner, Ryker and Tobias were satisfied with their current situation and they didn't have any plans to leave.
The only person that requested to come over to where I was was Joey.
Even if he wanted to stay, I wouldn't have allowed him to. When he answered the video call, I was shocked.
His face was battered and various wounds littered his skin.
According to him, the woman that bought him was a sadist that enjoyed seeing him in pain.
I planned to punish the woman after getting Joey out of there. I don't care if Joey wronged her in the past or not, she was going to pay.
Without including Habiba or Joey, the other members of the exploration team were in great situations.
The woman that bought Gianna asked her to be her younger sister. It was basically a substitute situation.
Fortunately, Gianna had grown to truly regard the woman as a sister and the woman no longer saw her as a substitute.
The person that bought Bryant was also the person that purchased Turner. The two of them worked as gladiators in a fighting ring. From their words, the man that bought them was treating them well.
Tobias was purchased by a male scientist that needed a disciple. Tobias was satisfied with the routine of learning and discovering things that his master brought him into.
Ryker was purchased by a man that was just looking for a quick adrenaline fix. The man didn't have any romantic or sexual relationship with Ryker. Ryker was basically a glorified toy to that man.
According to Ryker, when he stopped being interesting enough for the man, the man let him go. Ryker had been living how he wanted since then.
It was a beautiful surprise to see the people that I had originally hated for coming to the auction to purchase humans behave kindly in the end.
I won't lie, it was a bit shocking to see the military members of the exploration team I was part of choosing to stay.
On one hand, I felt like it was expected. There was a very high possibility that the human government would sacrifice them in an heartbeat if it would bring great benefits.
My fellow exploration team members were just going for their happiness instead of bending over for the human government. It was great to see them putting themselves first.
Some people might think it is an act of betrayal for soldiers and military personnel that had sworn to protect the common people putting themselves first but I don't think so.
I didn't contact Jimmy.
He was a person that was provided by the higher ups to bring us to this planet. I don't really want to interact or engage with him. I was sure he would be fine and if he wasn't fine, that was his fate.
