Chapter 193
Chapter 193
Edna
"Let's visit another area." I said to Killian.
"Okay." Killian replied, "There's something wrong with that lady. It will be best if we avoid her in the future. I feel like she is a magnet for trouble."
I nodded. Then, the two of us left that area.
I saw a statue that was almost completed. Human workers were moving around it busily.
I studied the statue carefully. This work of art was placed in a strategic location. It could be seen from almost every part of the Earth City. It was very tall too.
The statue was of a woman holding a large globe. The woman was medium sized.
The globe was familiar. It was similar to the pictures of Earth from outer space that I had seen in history books.
The woman was faceless but her grace and compassion could be felt. The smooth face that didn't have any nose, eyes or lips didn't evoke any terror.
Killian and I stood near the statue.
"That round thing the woman is holding is my home planet." I said.
"Your home planet is beautiful." Killian complimented.
Someone walked over and stood on Killian's other side. I glanced at the new arrival.
The new arrival was a very beautiful lady. Her dark skin was breathtaking. She had compelling brown eyes that made it hard to not look at her twice.
This new arrival was dressed in clothes that flattered her figure. The only strange thing in all of this was the fact that her eyes were practically glued to Killian's body.
She wasn't here to admire the Earth statue at all.
I am not going to lie to myself and I won't try to gaslight myself either. I was jealous.
The previous encounter with the lady that slipped and fell in Killian's direction came to mind.
The strange sense of unease that I had buried earlier was back.
I don't know what was happening and I didn't like that.
I cleared my throat loudly. Then, I squeezed into the tiny space between Killian and the woman.
The woman's eyes turned to me, "Hello, are you here to appreciate the statue of mother Earth too?"
A disdainful snort left my nose, "I and my husband are here to appreciate the statue. I don't know what you are here for."
"Calm down, lady. Your jealousy is emanating from you in waves. Nobody is trying to steal your man from you." The woman said with her hands making a gesture of surrender.
After her words, the woman left.
The two encounters Killian and I had were too strange for me to just ignore them.
The words Miranda said to me when I told her that Killian was not obligated to help the human race came to mind.
My heart felt sour and painful.
The higher ups were up to something and I had a sneaking suspicion of what it might be.
An angry laughter left my lips, “I don't know if the human government is part of this scheme or not. I don't care. Killian, all I know is that they are sending women to seduce you. They want those women to take my place. All because of the fact that I didn't endorse their greed. Is this the people I was trying to make good plans for?"
A large palm that was filled with warmth encased my right hand, "Edna, don't let them upset you. I am yours and you are mine. In my eyes, you are better than every other woman. No woman can compete with you. You are perfect for me. You are angry right now and I don't want you to do something you might regret later. Let's go back to the palace."
I didn't say anything else. I felt like if I opened my mouth again, the things that would come out would be things that should have remained as thoughts.
I was furious. I let Killian drag me back to our hovercraft.
He brought me into the vehicle and we left.
My mood remained low for the entirety of the journey back home.
