Chapter 188

Chapter 188

Edna

Time flowed away uneventfully. Killian didn't let me do anything after the meeting with Renee and the rest of her team members.

Because of this, I was filled with energy today. I was glad that there wasn't any major hiccups with yesterday's meeting.

I wasn't wearing my hospital gown today. I was tired of that piece of cloth. It was refreshing to wear a dress with vibrant colors.

Killian was wearing an outfit that was made from the same material my dress was made from.

The color was similar too.

I was on my hospital bed and Killian was squeezing in with me. His hands and legs were entangled with mine.

Something suddenly came to the forefront of my mind.

I looked at Killian, "I planned to discuss the details of how my kind can settle on this planet with you yesterday but I forgot. We need to do so now before it skips my mind again. I have to be equipped with all the necessary knowledge before Renee and her team members arrive."

Killian sat up and I did the same. We were still very close.

"I plan to give your people a piece of land that is close by. It isn't the next town, county or city but it is still near the capital. The place has huge mountains that can be leveled whenever the need comes up. That place is also fertile, incase your people want to farm." Killian explained.

My eyes brimmed with gratitude, "Thank you so much, Killian."

"The place I am talking about is of a considerable size so it should be able to contain all your people. Besides, even if it isn't large enough, there is numerous ways to solve that problem." Killian said.

I was really grateful. I didn't have to say much before this man arranged everything.

The smile on my lips reduced a little, "Killian, do you think I and my people are burdens?"

Killian shook his head, "Don't say that, Edna. You are a precious gift to me. You are not a burden. Even if you want to think of yourself as a burden, you are a sweet burden that I am willing to carry and I won't have it in any other way."

I leaned forward and left a kiss at the corner of his mouth, "I wanted to say thank you again but those words aren't enough for me to properly express my gratitude."

Suddenly, I was pulled into a hug. I didn't mind the abruptness and the mild shock it caused.

My hands wrapped around Killian's body tightly. We stayed like that for a while before Killian released me.

The tablet that Killian gave me yesterday was still with me. He grabbed the tablet before opening it.

He placed the tablet on his thighs before glancing at his wristband. Killian started tapping on the wristband.

A tiny sound was released from the tablet's speaker. Killian stopped looking at his wristband and started operating the tablet.

Soon, he shoved the tablet into my hands.

"This is the land I intend to give to your people." He said.

I hum in response before looking at the graphics on the tablet screen. The video on the tablet has numerous camera angles.

I could see every part of the allocated land.

Killian was right. The land was satisfactory and humans would be able to use the land as a base to grow and survive.

"Edna, once your people arrives on this planet, they must follow the laws that had already been established. I would love your people like I love my people That means I won't oppress my people to satisfy your people. Everyone would be equal before the law." Killian explained with a serious face.

I nodded. I agreed with everything he said. Although the aliens had superpowers, some of those powers are useless and some aliens don't have any superpowers. Having no superpower as an alien was not common but it existed.

Humans are good with technology and this planet could provide the required technology. Although humans don't have superpowers, they can use technology to bridge any gaps between them and aliens.

Besides, this is a planet ruled by law. No alien would wish to take the risk of attracting punishment by flexing their superpowers on humans or other alien citizens.

Besides, as humans and aliens coexist together, more laws that would make the relationship between the two smoother would be formulated.

"As a friendly gesture, I am going to provide some of the resources that will help your people settle down properly." Killian said.

"I know you don't like hearing me say thank you to you and I also feel like saying thank you isn't enough to appreciate your kindness. Still, I want to thank you." I replied.

This time, I was the one that pulled Killian into a hug. My grip was tight. I wanted to embed this man into my body.

Killian was an angel.

"You're welcome, Edna." He said in a low voice.

After a while, the two of us separated.

Killian stood up. I looked at him with a question painted on my face.

"I need to oversee some work. It won't take long and I would be back soon." Killian explained, "I would check on Renee and the others. If they are ready to speak to you, I will direct them here."

I nodded with a smile, "Okay, thank you very much."

Killian smiled and left.

My hands grabbed the tablet that was on the bed. I continued looking at the beautiful piece of land on the screen.

Although I don't really know what the outcome of my discussion with the human government would turn out to be, I was still immensely happy.

A knock sounded and I stopped glueing my eyes to the tablet screen.

"Come in." I said.

The door opened and the people outside came in. Renee was at the forefront.

"Did you rest properly yesterday?" Renee's voice was soothing.

"I rested adequately." I responded, "What about you?"

"I slept very well. This new peace of mind I am enjoying is all thanks to you. Thank you." Renee replied.

I patted the area beside me, "Come and sit down."

"Okay." Renee said before following my instructions.
